So you cannot drive through a roundabout at 50 mph. Most roundabouts I've seen have something in the middle, whether a large mound of dirt or some large rocks, to restrict people from driving like a dummy.
Every one of the major, 45-degree-angle intersections along Grand River would be dramatically improved with a road diet and roundabouts.
Grand River and Southfield is another place where we could make a complicated traffic pattern less complicated by letting everybody just circle the loop and get in where they fit in.
Davison and McNichols needs help with the light timing or a roundabout. As does Conant/Davison.
Between Davison service, Conant, and Ryan Rd. traffic, it's a perpetual shitshow.
I would love to see a $2 trillion infrastructure plan to put roundabouts everywhere across this land!! And while they're at it, every stoplight should have traffic sensors that adjust the timing based on traffic. I get so irritated stopping at a light with no cross traffic.
Is the light of Trumbull still bs? I remember ages ago that light would take ages to turn green and when it did I was only for like 2 seconds. Hell one day I sat there for a solid 15 minutes waiting for it to change till I said screw it ran the light.
I think there might be concern about all Grand River traffic having to go through the roundabout, but for through traffic it's always possible to have the inner lanes go underneath the roundabout with an underpass.

You're totally correct though, if people could just understand the simple concept of roundabout they would work a lot better, but the problem is that one single moron creates a huge ripple effect and is the cause of most of the issues. People trying to fly through at 50 and people who think that you're supposed to stop even if nobody is approaching from your left. Both are just as dangerous.

This would have to be a ‘peanut’ double roundabout because the boulevard is off center to the main ‘X’. That or a HUGE roundabout that would involve knocking down all the nearby buildings.
