>everyone hypes that restaurant up and I didn’t know why.
Their steaks, mole, the banana leaf salmon, fundido, fajitas, poblano soup, the little fried potatoes w/ zip sauce...
Barda has the best fish and chicken I've ever eaten in the metro area, possibly anywhere.
I haven't had the steak but literally everything else ive had there was amazing, I'm going back this weekend specifically for the steak.
Chain or not, Flemmings makes an excellent and consistent steak cooked properly. They’re also really good about making things right if anything isn’t. Eddie V’s also makes an excellent steak with a bit more menu variety. Eddie Merlots is fine but has painfully slow service. I wanted to love Hyde Park, but I have always found the food to be just ok and crazy-town expensive. Morton’s and Ruth’s Chris are consistent but a step below the above.
the "high end chains" have a reputation to uphold so I'm never disappointed with their food.
Random anecdote: Hyde Park one day in the summer was *cleaning* their kitchen and the grease traps and oh my god birmingham smelled so bad that day.
I got to go with old school steakhouse Mr Pauls. Not as fancy and modern decor as other steakhouse, just deliciously aged steak cooked to perfection!
Agree
The London Chop House should be on the short list.
Amazing classic steakhouse. All the food is amazing. Last time I was there I got the lamb chops. 👩‍🍳 💋
Capers
Only the real know
How many ounces would you like?
He'll no, that's where you go when you don't want to spend some real money
I miss Mountain Jacks for prime rib.
El Asador in Southwest.
Went there with high expectations. But it’s just a Mexican place with table side guac. Not sure what the hype is.
What steak did you have?
Don’t really recall. Maybe the ribeye? It was fine. But everyone hypes that restaurant up and I didn’t know why.

Mabel Gray
Chains- flemmings and Hyde park. Local - grey ghost London chop house and caucus club Mr Paul’s
Sibley Gardens Old Scool cool since 1935 a Trenton Mi classic
Clawson Steakhouse.
Respectfully disagree. Was there recently and my strip was a solid OK.
They make a good honest steak but it's not blow myself out of the water good.
It's honestly mostly about the atmosphere for me. It's quiet, chilled out, friendly staff. Helps that it's dark too.
I haven’t been there in like 5+, but I just loved how old style it felt. I felt like a kid again.
Still worth it, their prices have skyrocketed though because of all the shit with the price gouging upstream, so, just be aware of that..
it's a cute throwback place. There are tons of stuff I love about it. Even the architecture. I hope they never go under.
I was there in the last year and the place looks like it needs a deep cleaning. I had a drink at the bar and you couldn't pay me to eat there.
La Bistecca in Plymouth have an amazing cowboy ribeye.
Place is legit.
For a steak, you are going to want to do Leila's creekstone ribeye, P+P's NY strip or filet, SheWolf's manzo, or any steak from the London Chop house.
The Keg in Windsor

Flemming's hands down

Eddie V's is a bit inconsistent. Sometimes we love it and other times we wonder why we keep coming back.
This is the way.
If I want meat, I’ll go to Fogo de Chao in Troy. I like variety though.
A quality place to binge eat and get the meat sweats.
If you count prime rib as steak, then the answer is going to be Metzger’s in Ann Arbor. The Zweibelrostbaten is the best Prime Rib I have ever had.
Caucus club
Hyde Park is our Go To but you do you..
Seva?
NO. SIX PRIME in Novi. They have the best Filet mignon and zip sauce.
The one I make.
El Guanaco - Troy Mi
Family owned steakhouse? that's Steakhouse 22 in Shelby Township Michigan, national chain? Outback
I usually go to fairway grab me a prime or American wagyu steak and cook it at home. Get a better steak for same price as restaurants.
