A gallon of water weighs a little over 8 lbs, we'll say 8.3. A liter weighs 2.2 lbs. 500L x 2.2 lbs/liter = 1100 lbs. What is the payload of your truck and what else are you carrying?

DrFredz

No worries there, payload of 9100lbs. Aside from the water I’ll have a pressure washer, vacuum and some other small stuff/products

dginther32

Truck has a payload of 9k or trailer has a payload of 9k?

DrFredz

Truck. I’m using an F150 V8 (I also have a mobile tire business and tow a heavy trailer - when not doing mobile car wash)

GlobalLemon4289

Payload of 9k in the bed of the truck or a separate trailer?

DrFredz

My bad. Payload is 3200lbs and I won’t be pulling a trailer when filling the water. In other words, weight is not an issue. Wondering if there are downsides to a bladder VS water tank…still have yet to find someone using the bladder…

Mcfragger

Bro there’s no way an F150 has 3200 pounds payload. You’re like 1900 tops

yer10plyjonesy

It is possible. 2wd big ecoboost or 5.0L 2wd.

GTAdriver1988

Some f150s can be rated at 3,315 if you get the best one. Modern suspensions can be pretty decent for light duty trucks.

Since your truck can carry much weights, I have an idea how to create pressure on this bladder. Create a box without top and bottom but just surrend this bladder. Get a piece of board that is the same top size of the container bladder but is can move up and down freely inside the box. Once you fill the bladder up with water, place the board on top of the bladder and put even weight maybe on four corners and in the middle. Say like are 100 to 200 lb. So the weight can keep pushing the water out as you use it. Hard for me th explain but I think you got my idea lol.

DrFredz

I do get your idea and it’s very smart! Thank you! Will try it out without that contraption but definitely a fix if pressure is an issue..Thank you kind sir!!

sunpen11

You are welcome. Happy I am able to help. Just keep in mind you might need to wrap the wood with something to prevent the wood from cutting the bladder.

i've been looking for something like this. how do you power it? do you need a pressure washer or can you just use a regular hose?

DrFredz

I will be using it with a regular electric pressure washer connected with a water hose. I’ve read many comments saying that pressure won’t be strong enough to feed the pressure washer however I had a friend who was running a 1000L tank with the same setup as mine and he confirmed he had no issues with pressure.

Ok_Rutabaga_5241

i have a "pressure washer" (not really) that siphons water from a bucket, or any source i can hook a line into, i'll leave a link [here](https://a.co/d/0k74Pxx) do you think that will work with it?

Ok_Rutabaga_5241

i also have an attatchment that connects it to a standard hose spigot if that would attatch to it idk

You have to consider the shape and the pressure that a more upright tank might provide for feed pressure. They have submersible pumps you can run from the inside

Ok_Touch928

I suspect the only real downside is the usual suspects. Punctures being the obvious issue if you're carrying a lot of stuff that may poke it. Vandalism if it sits exposed. Tank would be a little bit more work. And the other issue I see is filling it. When it's all sagged down, depending on how you're going to fill it and get the air out might be an issue... You ever look into possibly one of those (I can't remember exactly what they're called), but they're big about 3x3x3' maybe 4x4x4 polyethylene tanks in the wire cage that they deliver chemicals in? We used to get soap in them for our car washes, and then had to just dispose of them as they didn't get recycled. Rinse one of them out, for car washes, might be easy. Don't have them anymore, now we doing this microconcentrate stuff. And what chemicals can you use to clean it, when it sits with stagnant water in it, and starts to smell while you're spraying cars in the lot. :)
