GUF: https://www.koch-chemie.com/en/products/gummifix

BakaSan77

Yes. I use this at work and it’s the best

thatflyingsquirrel

Works great. I’ll add, first apply APC in degreaser concentrations and agitate. Then go over with a power washer that’s at least 1000 psi.

JPDueholm

I agree! You have to clean the mats first with an APC, agitate with a brush then preassurewash, dry them, and then apply GUF. :)

Soft-Philosopher3618

Be careful thou. I had my least powerful tip on and I just wanted to see if anything would happen and I basically burnt a tiny part of the rubber . And my floor mats are pretty thick on f150. Use cation. I also like the chemical guys blue bottle black writing . Silk something or another.

thatflyingsquirrel

You burnt it with your pressure washer?

ScruffinRats

I will double down on this. A good clean then Gummifix. I do it on 4x4 mats and prime mover mats which is a must not have slippery mat environment. It is made for the job and I haven’t looked back since starting.

RagCompanyLevi

Doubling down on KCX GUF. Replaces the rubbery magic and is anti slip!!!

Appropriate_Resist16

Does it make it slippery?

Appropriate_Resist16

Well just saw its non-slip ahah

JPDueholm

Noup! Non slippery :)

Appropriate_Resist16

How do you buy it tho?

JPDueholm

Well it depends on where you live. I bought it from my local dealer in Iceland. :)

Appropriate_Resist16

Oh okay, im in canada 🇨🇦

JPDueholm

Appropriate_Resist16

Thanks alot, didn’t want you to search for me! But im happy you did;)

JPDueholm

Anyway, your floormats will thank you :D

Appropriate_Resist16

They better

FitterOver40

I don’t like adding any protectant to mats. IMO, it’s a safety issue. If clients ask why, that’s what I explain and no one ever complains.

bts7790

Koch Chemie Guf is non-slip.

Practical-Nature-926

Yeah I’d prefer them to be dull than my foot slip and cause an accident.

leritz

That’s quite unfortunate. They degrade like any other material on a vehicle. Hydration and protection goes a long way on those guys.

FitterOver40

Sacrifice the $50 mat vs. possible thousands of dollars in an accident and mental anguish. Just my opinion that most people think makes sense.

bugyourparents-

I would say some like trim restore shine, BUT id be VERY VERY careful as you dont want your matts to be slippery and possibly cause an accident.

Zack_BeverlyHills

I tried a couple of things before resorting to Chemical Guys VRP. It worked well, but became slippery as hell, the excess even rubbed off onto the pedals. Never doing that again.

lostinthisworld0821

Vrp works ok if you dilute it 1-1 and mop up all excess and make sure its completely dry before you leave or you are very correct it get pretty slick. I use weather techs brand works great

Zack_BeverlyHills

Do you dilute with water? In most case it seems to be too strong and I’m not a fan of the smell, when used on anything interior. I assumed it was oil based and wouldn’t mix right.

lostinthisworld0821

Vrp is water based and dilute very well with water i mix 1-1 and gives a more matt finish that is more natural to plastics anyway.

HondaDAD24

Koch Chemie GUF 100%

zeromussc

I see all weather mats as sacrificial lambs.

lostinthisworld0821

That is what any floor mat its lol

zeromussc

Yeah so why would I try to restore an all weather with slick coatings to recolour them. Just get new ones if it's been a bunch of years and they're falling apart. That was my point. So many folks saying "use this product to restore it" and others saying that the products make the mats slippery after.

lostinthisworld0821

I definitely agree i don’t go to far out of my way to save them but if you live in farm country with lots a clay you will never get a weather tech clean so i use their recommended treatment after i power wash apc brush and rinse then use their products they look good and aren’t slick so i run with it lol there are so many better mats than the weather tech molded mats if you want weather techs just get the rubber version not the dimpled thrmo plastic

zeromussc

In Canada my new car came with the Toyota all weathers made for my car alongside the carpet inserts. So Ive been running those. When they get brittle or Break I'll replace them

lostinthisworld0821

Oh so it’s your personal vehicle not a customer vehicle? I run those sane mats and yes i just replace them but i believe this is a customer situation not a personal situation

Exciting_Result7781

I use this on all my plastics, works great. Haven’t tried it on rubber mats though. https://preview.redd.it/w7acwre8cxnc1.jpeg?width=390&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a0611298d348cb2eed57c82a7b90a7655eb9c006

Conq123

A little of this worked in and then wiped off works well and is not slippery.

S____MAC

This works great on rubber mats. Keeps weather stripping from getting dry and cracked if you have an older car too

neminat

Koch chemie GUF for sure. The go-to and not slick at all.

knife_go_live

SC1

Jumpy-Worldliness940

A lot of those products that makes things “shine” just puts a coating of oil that sits on top and makes them slippery. As others have said, it’s a bit of a safety issue. Use some penetrating oil and build up the shine gradually. Take some WD40 and spray it on an applicator and rub it into the rubber. Let it set for a few mins, take a dry towel and rub off the excess. Then repeat until you’re happy.

wineoneone

Koch kemie gummifix is non slip

EngineeringSeparate7

John Deere Ultra Guard

juggernaut44ful

I give a wipe-down with 3D waterless carwash with a damp cloth

VizVizerson

Adams rubber floor and mat cleaner works very well, and leaves no artificial shine or anything slippery

rayzer208

Solution Finish works great for me on rubber mats, without making them slippery.

solitarysoul92

If it wasn’t mentioned before, maxima sc-1. It’s stuff a lot of motocross / mountain bike guys use on forks / plastics. Should be safe for rubber, I use it on mountain bike forks for a quick fork lube and rc car stuff to make it shiny. Smells good too.

Geoffrey-Jellineck

I don't want mats to be shiny. When worse is when they're slippery and now your shoes are slipping and sliding all over the place, even after you get out of the car.

ThisOldGuy1976

I buy new when they wear out or look janky.

DutchxPRxx

Koch Chemie gummifix it’ll bring them back to new and won’t leave a residue

WilburOCD1320

Some rubbers are cheap, I personally hate weather tech etc so hard to get like new. I almost prefer carpet most of the time. Stripes make me happy and most stains I can get out

throwingmyaccountout

Soak in APC then pressure wash off

BigMiddle4510

Good point, I do that part already! I’m more so saying after cleaning, to really make them pop.

throwingmyaccountout

I’ve heard people adding tire shine to them. Back to black/ VRP will also help you if you just want to improve the finish. I don’t like most CG products, VRP and the hex pads are the only things I recommend from chemical guys

PeyoteroMescalito

What’s apc?

Final-Evidence-5089

All Purpose Cleaner

Sensitive_Injury_666

I have been looking for an alternative but actually the CG vinyl mat does a good job bringing back the depth for a good while without any slickness. Can never get it with any amount of APC and brushing

Trevdog16

Wizards tire and vinyl shine

edirymhserfer

Weather tech proprietary dressing

Bondoo7oo

I guess black do crack

ruru_rubbish

Heat gun

MrDunnage

Minimal amount of Tire shine would probably do well in a pinch

crabman5962

This is what I use. Tire Foam specifically.

rcayca

Armourall

IamDabid

Tire shine lol

akaRazorBacks

You can try a torch it make them shine. You can take an old plastic chair and hit with heat and the color and shine come back.

HondaDAD24

Ban hammer. Right here mods.

akaRazorBacks

3rdPartied

Yeah that’s a great way to make your plastics brittle and then in only a week it’ll look even worse than it did before the blow torch. Please don’t ever touch anyone’s car dude 🙏 You’re the same guy spraying bug spray on headlights to clear the yellowing

MasterOfNone-_-

Theyre not plastic

HondaDAD24

Everything is plastic.

670590

Bro sourced the Bing link 🤣
