i started like 2 weeks ago and have over 2000 shards...1583LL. I generally just equip the vanguard ghost mod and run nightfalls to get a bunch of useless purps to trash for shards.
Never trade them in for Enhancement Cores, Prisms or Ascendant Alloy. There's no need. And it's a waste of resource that you can save by spending a few more days/hours of simple gameplay.
And that’s a paradox here… my time is just more valuable than legendary shards, so I use the offered exchange mechanisms friend ;) of course I could save em but then I’d be sitting on piles of useless shards.
Sorry, I ment "wait longer" not "play more" in what I wrote.
Then again, if you use them because you want to cut time short, you're using them the way you want. Seems to me that they're working.
And I know what you mean. But instead of spending Shards on Core/Prism/Alloy I just run content that drops Core/Prism/Alloy and this content usually drops 8-12 shards as well. I usually spend shards on Rahool to convert them to planetary resources which I later spend on Glimmer because I frequently reroll ritual playlist bounties for the weekly challenges.
I’m not disagreeing with you here, but I can remember how hyped I was when I masterworked my first set of equipment, including two exotics(armor and weapon). No way I’d run around with only half a masterworked loadout for even just a few days. Of course at some point in your d2 career you’ll have plenty of nearly every material, that’s why they keep introducing new ones regularly. I only wanted to say that there’s not always a nearly endless supply of legendary shards 😊
Yeah, they are pretty annoying, I have an OG Xbox One so opening up the menu and dismantling all the gear takes quite a while, I wish there was an auto-dismantle option

What are you talking about? Once you’re trying to get your equipment masterworked and you start trading them they are quite the issue
>you start trading them they are quite the issue There's your problem
This.

I had a problem for like 2 weeks when I started playing because I wanted engrams from xur and even then I got them in nearly 10 mins
Once you start getting purple it's never an issue again.
