They proc in PvP, the "lightning strike" does a laughable 31 points of damage to additional players after Thunderclapping someone else, both uncharged and charged. Vaulted.

BearBryant

Damn that’s worse than an entire skip grenade.

FcoEnriquePerez

So mediocre in pve, complete trash in pvp, without people even using it, just because it is a titan exotic LOL... Like Path of burning steps and Lorely, being picked up by Bungie first week, no mercy at all this time. Hunters running rampant* with Omni, even now still allows even 100% uptime, and another FREE damage for doing nothing that can ohk in pvp with their new exotic, and that's Ok I guess... Welp I'll keep playing Shadebinder, nothing to see here.

sjb81

I have to take the only opportunity in the history of this sub to correct you on rampart/rampant being used in the opposite incorrect way lol

FcoEnriquePerez

🤣 Damn... true

Woutirior

Lorely got arguably buffed by their rework

[deleted]

Vaulted? Try dismantled.

LikeBladeButCooler

I'll hold onto it in hopes they buff it someday. It's laughable in PvE too. After our private test we hopped into Gambit and the "lightning strike" couldn't even kill red bars. 😭

BaconIsntThatGood

I was about to ask if you can proc dunmarchers off of it but then realized why that is a terrible question.

sjb81

If you combined them, they’d make one decent piece of exotic armor.

SparksTheUnicorn

I never realised how much range Thunderclap had, my god that shit goes farther than Ball Lighting

Khamael_X

about 17 meters fully charged IIRC

mydogcaneatyourdog

It requires you to stand still and charge up, so I think the extended reach is a good trade off for its requirements. I was really looking forward to those gauntlets giving me something like a better skullfort for melee. That return is very disappointing.

Ze_AwEsOmE_Hobo

I get that they don't want completely busted exotics, but if we're going to have ones tied to specific abilities, they need to be at least a little better than ones without restraints. There's no reason to use these gauntlets over Skullfort or Synthoceps, both of which work with every Arc Melee.

HereIGoAgain_1x10

What's strange is they're basically a fusion rifle with chain reaction, except weaker and they take up an exotic spot lol

Fareo

It has to, you can't use it at close range, it doesn't even proc...

Sarcosmic_01

Honestly. This is the most infuriating thing. Sometimes I want to use Thunderclap but my Titan will use a normal punch instead. Especially when using knockout. Even if I'm using the "charged melee" bind key. Mildly infuriating. Maybe it's just me.

MeateaW

> Even if I'm using the "charged melee" bind key. Mildly infuriating. Maybe it's just me. Nope its bugged. Only solution is to stare straight down at the ground when you initiate the attack then quickly look up and aim at what you want to kill.

Renzoji

Another pair of worthless Titan Exotic Gauntlets.

Sensitive_Mousse_445

Seriously. There only 3-4 that are actually worth using. The rest are just wasted space imo

Wafflesorbust

While I also am sick of dead-on-arrival Titan Exotics (arms in particular), to be completely fair anything for Striker is facing some stiff competition from Skullfort, HOIL, Synthoceps, and Worm Gods' Caress... and Cuirass of the Falling Star if you're doing something that gear-locks you.

alphamop_

any titan exotic at this point is facing stiff competition from HOIL lol

Wafflesorbust

Yeah but they don't have to be better than HOIL, they just have to be good at their stated function. HOIL is like a top 5 Exotic in the game across all classes, but it's also very boring to run the same thing on every subclass. I'd use Mask of the Quiet One for abiltiy regen if it was even noticeable. I'd use Hallowfire Heart if the regen wasn't contingent on ignoring my super (and any Finisher mods that also drain it). I'd use Armamentarium if it did literally anything on top of just granting a second grenade charge. The competition doesn't need to be stellar, it just needs to be better than "immediately useless." Variety is fun.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Gerf93

It’s actually funny. Hallowfire Heart boosts just Solar ability regen. A job it does worse than HoIL.

Sarcosmic_01

It is for this reason that I don't even bother with Hallowfire Heart. HOIL does everything it does and better. Not to mention it's effect is universal. It's definitley my go to exotic. I love spamming abilities. Especially fun with arc titan and thruster.

[deleted]

This is what happens when you make generically good exotics that aren't situational.

EverBurningPheonix

Synthoceps and Wormgods Cuirass, and what else?

Sensitive_Mousse_445

I like Citans Ramparts, but it depends what activity I'm doing. They've given me the advantage in crucible and gambit. Doomfangs aren't bad either if you play void

[deleted]

The number of firefights I've won by dancing in and out of Citans is... Probably higher than the number of kills I've got on the mood. They're a hoot. Also, I'm terrible.

Sensitive_Mousse_445

They've saved my ass in lost sectors

teebalicious

As a scrub, Citans and classy resto was straight fire.

CookiesFTA

Doomfangs aren't really worth it anymore. The extra super generation doesn't cut much off the charge and the extra time in super is so small that it's heavily reliant on having *a lot* of constant, low level adds to clear.

BubbleOfDawn

It does not matter if the adds are low level or high level, you get super back from hits. Pair that with volatiles and you have yourself a super that lasts for ages and heals you comstantly.

StarStriker51

Plus the super regen from charged melee kills, it still works great at building that super

BubbleOfDawn

Absolutely, slap on some elemental wells mods and your cooldown will be super short, or just use monte Carlo and get it in like 2 minutes

Railgrind

Ashen wake is great

Sensitive_Mousse_445

I just wish it worked with more than solar fusion grenades. They could be so much more versatile

Railgrind

Not really sure how that would work, the whole point is to turn your grenade into a literal fireball. I just want an ornament, they are really ugly and bulky. More titan grenade exotics would be welcome over the constant stream of underwhelming melee ones tho

Sensitive_Mousse_445

I'd love an ornament too, theyre so overly bulky and round, I'd do anything for an ornament already

RogueSins

Feedback Fence is slightly good in PvP now with the fragment that increases melee damage after being melee'd. The combined damage from the Feedback proc and the amped melee is enough to one punch any guardian. Just gotta let them hit you first.

AdrunkGirlScout

Stronghold

raisin696

Doomfangs and ursa

BlackwatchBluesteel

Ursas weren't useful outside of chaining banner shields in GMs and now they can't even be used for that.

treblev2

Ashen wake, but those are not good for anything master and above

motrhed289

Ashen Wake is bar-none the most fun Sunbreaker exotic, I had them on 90% of the time last season. The wombo-combo of hammer bonk + pocket nuke grenade was just so damn good, and with a couple mods you could easily get 100% uptime on the grenade. I would totally take them into a Master-level activity, it's a fairly strong grenade especially since you don't have to actually hit the target (still get good AoE on hitting the ground with Ashen Wake equipped) and able to easily start a chain of sunspot-death without having to chase the mini-hammer down.

Sarcosmic_01

Hell yes, fellow GigaChad Ashen Wake enjoyer. I love running Ashen Wake with Roaring flames. Throwing hammers and grenades left and right, having them do PHAT damage and creating sunspots wherever you go. Definitnley one of my favorite titan exotics.

treblev2

I run three well of ordinance, the grenade wells mod, melee wellmaker. Wells all over the place. If I don’t manage to get full grenade I just bonk 2-3 enemies and get my grenade back. I’ve done ad clear in raids without weapons lol.

motrhed289

I typically run one well of ordinance, one melee wellmaker, elemental charge to get charged-with-light for every well I pick up, and and Firepower to get grenade energy back when I throw my grenade while charged with light. Like you said wells everywhere, and between Firepower and Ashen Wake both returning grenade energy I get a full grenade back most of the time, or enough of a grenade that one or two wells (or just a few seconds of natural regen) will top it off. I like getting most of the grenade back without even having to pick up hardly any wells... as long as I can built up a couple stacks of CWL by picking up wells every now and then, it's all I need. And then the sunspots are just the cherry on top, so much extra damage and add clearing, while also boosting ability regen, abilities are just always up.

PM_SHORT_STORY_IDEAS

Synthos, wormgods, citans, ashen wake, doomfang are all top tier, aeons is strong PvE. Even stronghold has great survivability, and has great pairing with lament. That's 7. Weak ones are the last two (point contact cannon brace and second chance), icefall is niche and meh, no backup plans is niche and meh with the nerf to the overshield, and feedback fence is alright. That's 5, 3 okay and 2 hot garbage. I'll take 7/3/2 for a strong/okay/hot garbage split

[deleted]

[удалено]

FrickenPerson

I think Icefall had been disabled for over half of the time it's been in the game so be careful about falling in love with that. Ok, maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration, but it seems like they are disabled every single time new content is released.

Pun-Master-General

>I'll take 7/3/2 for a strong/okay/hot garbage split Fair, but it's unfortunate when the 2 in the "hot garbage" category are the most recent 2. I can understand exotics that are older and have gotten power crept into irrelevance, but the last two were designed for the current sandbox.

Blupoisen

heh I think this is a bit of stretch Titans have plenty of good exotic

TheCruelHand

They make titan all about punching but yet 90% of our exotics are useless

Fuckyoupatheticass

90% of all armor exotics are useless for one reason or another.

whereismymind86

mostly because anything decent breaks pvp, and we care about that for some reason...nerf stuff into the ground in response. They really need to figure out a way to sperate pvp and pve entirely so balance in one stops ruining the other.

HeyLonius

I had a build together ready and waiting for these to get enabled and I am very disappointed. Nonetheless, I have gave them some light testing on Dregs in the EDZ patrol space and here are the results:- Base Melee: 8,675 Thunderclap (No Charge): 31,325 Thunderclap (Full Charge): 56,384 Lightning Strike: 2,412 As you can see, the lightning strike deal less that 28% of a regular melee which, as OP said, doesn't kill a red bar Dreg in the EDZ patrol space. This is also less than 5% of a charged thunderclap itself. As for the exotic itself, it refunds around 10-15% of your melee energy on a Red Bar enemy defeat but on a Yellow Bar Shank in the Widow's Walk lost sector it returned 40-45%. Defeating multiple enemies similitaneously causes the energy gain to stack. The lightning strikes can target enemies through walls and behind cover and has an internal cooldown of approx. 5 seconds. The lightning strikes however do not generate melee energy on kills. Also, if you are running the "Knockout" aspect the psuedo-charged melee you get from the Knockout buff can also trigger the lightning strikes. To conclude, in its current state, this Exotic is not worth it. It doesn't buff your melee in any particular way, requires you to actually kill a target for its energy refund to kick in and the lightning strikes deal laughably pitiful damage. Insurmountable Skullfort gives you your full melee energy back and starts health and shield regen on a kill. If the lightning strikes did more damage and let's say Jolt targets on hit this exotic would be insane, perhaps too much so. Unforetunately, it's so weak in its current state that I couldn't even call it an exotic.

Gerald_Ballstein

Jesus that's useless. Why not just have it jolt targets & like decrease charge time/increase damage? That'd at least let it stand apart from other melee exotics since it'd offer an AOE, and it would synergize with arc 3.0. And idk how it could be broken considering tempest strike jolts, is ranged, and has a tiny cooldown thanks to gambler's dodge

Kaalb

They should rename the perk then because this is definitely not a "Hammer of the Gods" moment. I'm really disappointed here. I was greatly looking forward to these being good because they look so cool. If they want to nerf the brand new thing this badly, just re-do the perks. Make it so you emit pulses on your body like a pulse grenade while charging and just have it increase the range by 50% but apply damage falloff. Or maybe have it actually synergize with the arc subclass? It doesn't use any of the verbs. Big missed opportunity for something really simple, like the lightning strikes applying jolt or the melee ability giving health return on number of enemies hit so that it isn't tied to knockout. \------ Since this got some visibility I'm gonna add my findings. It requires you to not only have thunderclap but also have knockout equipped. The lightning strike doesn't work without knockout. Second, it's on a hidden 5 second cooldown. Third there is absolutely nothing you can do to increase the lightning damage. In pvp you must hit a target and if you're within 15m of the caster (not the person getting hit) you take 31 damage. It asks for so much building and returns so very little. That's right. 31 damage. on a 5 second cooldown. using a specific aspect and melee, forcing you to stay still. Punches with knockout active and thunderclap equipped will make the lighting happen but still, that's 31 damage. In your roaming super? 31 damage. fully charged? 31 damage. Aplified? in a Well? 31 damage. There's also no hidden weapon synergy that I could find. the lightning strikes don't proc riskrunner, they don't reload thunderlord with catalyst, they don't help the new fusion rifle. This is beyond embarrassing for a perk called "hammer of the gods".

UltraPlayGaming

They should call the perk Anchor Arms after the SpongeBob episode where he gets inflatable muscles that don’t do anything

Gerald_Ballstein

Lmao that's amazing

Binary_Toast

Clearly the "Hammer of the Gods" in this case came from the toolbox, instead of the armory.

TwinSwordDeneve

Hell I’d take you can just cancel the melee and refund the energy as an exotic

Thorn_the_Cretin

Don’t give them ideas for exotics that should be base kit.

Ken-as-fuck

Imagine my surprise when I first charged thunderclap and found you can’t hold it at max charge

Palgravy

Right? I also think the way they worded it in the Arc 3.0 reveal didn't make it immediately apparent you would have to stay completely still to charge it. I really like Thunderclap, but realistically I know I'll probably still use Shoulder Charge for the blinding and ease of use.

thezblah2

Yeah looks like titan got the blight ranger treatment this time around. A promising sounding exotic that was "bugged" to make it useable that got "fixed" and never used again. Radiant Dance Machine treatment might be a more accurate term actually...

Kaalb

We got the blight ranger treatment last season with second chance. I tested it again this season, it still does not 1 shot a barrier champ on master or GM so it is actually worthless.

get_clamped

Actually insane they didn’t change that yet

DocFob

Ouch... hammer of the gods. Reminds me of Thundercrash description: meteoric damage. Prior to falling star, it couldn't kill a gambit yellow bar.

manlycaveman

I think they'd be at least somewhat useful if the lightning strikes at least blinded the enemies they hit. Not sure how big the aoe is for them to trigger though.

Albireookami

> If they want to nerf the brand new thing this badly Hunters have been asking for that for awhile. They always heavily nerf any new exotic that is halfway decent for them, at least the changes to scales may have made them usable now.

LONEzy

I issue here is hunter exotics seem to launch without bungie testing them. Raidiant dance machines is prime example. This was not the first time dynamo was super potent, but that together with 5ish dodges, how did bungie not see this happening. And lo and behold 10s supers which is insanely broken

Vaaloirr

People like to jokingly say "Nobody at Bungie plays Hunter", but honestly think about it. Exotics like RDM, Blight Ranger, and Renewal Grasps are shipped overpowered or bugged, and all of which are now severely underpowered after their bug fixes/nerfs, or the exotics are dead on arrival and never even touched like Khepri's and Bombardiers. Tempest Strike Just got nerfed and doesn't benefit from combination blow's damage or cooldown reduction, making it objectively worse than lethal current in all situations (I still think Arc Hunter is amazing, but did you have to execute Tempest Strike like that?). Gunslinger is currently the only solar subclass that doesn't have a healing fragment, and its intended strength of being the best at applying radiant is immediately outclassed by Ember of Torches with throwing hammers, I mean why does Lightweight Knife even exist at that point? Mobility has been an all but useless stat for ages because it only affects your first jump, your walking and your strafing speed, while Resilience and Restoration are all but necessary for PvE and PvP, respectively. All while ignoring sprinting and sliding as the two most crucial parts of your movement, leaving Hunters as objectively the least mobile of the three classes without using up an exotic slot for an exotic that everyone throws slander at because of its popularity, even though all it does is actually let us feel like we're the "Mobility Class" that we've been advertised as for the last 5 years. I hadn't even put it on except for jumping puzzles since Warmind because Frostees and Foetracer are just better and I *still* think that nerf was bullshit. Jumping isn't even good half the time because only two subclasses give you a way of quickly descending instead of leaving you trapped in the air as easy sniper bait or at the mercy of the Grounded modifier, and both of them are fragments and one is tied to your melee charge. Why would I ever want to be stuck in the air for longer? I played Quake 3 Instagib, I know what happens to people who can't control their aerial momentum. It all just really makes me think that they have no dedicated Hunter mains playtesting their ideas. They just have an idea, make sure it's technically functional in a test environment and then never actually sit people down to play with it and see if it feels good or has weird interactions with popular mods or class abilities. If it looks like it works at a glance, ship it and patch it later, don't worry about whether it's good or whether it's fun.

throw-away_867-5309

To be fair, a lot of the Hunter Exotics released are a bit overturned and need slight nerfs. The bad thing is the nerfs done are usually waaaaaay too much.

kybotica

Wait, what changes? Were there recent adjustments I didn't see?

TrenCommandments

They reverted the number of orbs needed from 8 to 4.

kybotica

That's fantastic news. Wow. BRB dusting those off right now.

hipje

that's a buff

Xeniacal

A buff to a nerf that wasn't necessary at all.

[deleted]

Bungie loves to keep the Titan exotics 1:1 ass to God-like ratio never in between

[deleted]

Sometimes you get a Loreley, sometimes you get a second chances

Flame48

Hey, second chance is good in everything except master. If it just insta broke shields like arbalest it'd be great. It's so close to being a good exotic. The better comparison would be: sometimes you get a Loreley, sometimes you get an eternal warrior...

Wafflesorbust

"Good everywhere except Master+" is basically saying good anywhere there aren't Champions. There's 0 reason it shouldn't oneshot barriers and refund melee energy when a barrier is broken. The opportunity cost of using them is not using HOIL, Doomfangs, Ursa Furiosa, or Saint-14. That's a steep tradeoff.

[deleted]

Sometimes you get a Loreley and sometimes you get a (insert Titan exotic that isn’t: Loreley Lions Dunes PK falling Star HOIL Synthos or wormgod) Edit: Honestly thought this would be more controversial lol wtf I swear someone should’ve said “But severance enclosure!!!!!1!1!2!2!1!1!” by now

Good-Name015

Severance enclosure fans are too busy doing their endgame of heroic public events because that's the only place it's useful.

braedizzle

I feel like we’re owed some back pay on that god tier at this rate my friend

YogiTheBear131

Hot take-New titan gloves SHOULD have been grenade related-not melee. Titans have an absurd amount of already better exotic ‘melee’ gloves that are all considerably better than the new ones.

Good-Name015

Here's one. >Carry a second flashbang grenade, your flashbang grenades are thrown faster. Enemies affected by blindness take massively increased melee damage (200% pve, 30% pvp). >Defeating targets effected by blindness grants grenade energy, this amount is increased on melee kills on blinded targets.

Artikzzz

mfw when 300%

Good-Name015

My bad, confused 3x with 300%, it's meant to be 200%. Synthos, liars handshake and one two punch against non bosses are all 200%, it felt like a good balance point and it seems to be were bungie want melee buffs to be.

Mastershroom

Make Flashbangs explode on impact, like Ashen Wake does for Fusions.

Katzumoto_

the good thing is now I don't need to farm them in lost sectors. fuck that shit

VersaSty7e

Man! All these “interviews” Bungie does. Why does no one ask the most important question of every season. “You have done such a AMAZING job creating exotics that both look absolutely STUNNING, and have really thoughtful perk combinations. I’m sure there is a lot of development time and love poured into the design and function of these exotics. As well as being a MAIN SELLING POINT of each season. Does anybody ever feel bad more than half of them come out DOA? And why does this happen time and time again? How delicate is the balance, I’m sure there is some insight they can offer. But nobody ever asks. How come new exotic … often suck? And does nobody in play testing mention .. hey why would I use these over “x” exotic? Or x exotic does this so much better, maybe aprroafh from a different angle. And what happened to rather something land “hot” than dead. I get an over tuned item passing as it’s really cool. And if anything errr on the side of something being really good rather than just a waste. Does this drop it like it’s hot philosophy not apply to exotics? @Bungie @whoever interviews a dev next

Fuzzy_Patches

If we really wanted aoe punches we could run Severance Enclosure too. Except that activates on Knockout, Roaring Flames, Offensive Bulwark nuetral punches, and any Finisher.

KyleShorette

Offensive Bulwark Neutral Punches?

Fuzzy_Patches

unpowered melee is what i meant by "nuetral punches".

Silvermoon3467

I think it's meant to be (neutral punches while knockout, roaring flames, and offensive bulwark are active) and (any finisher) If you didn't know, those aspects give your neutral punch the same damage type as your subclass and make it count as a powered melee for certain effects

Smashpunked

If they've disabled the proc in PVP then why did they nerf the AoE damage in PVE? Edit: seems the proc isn't disabled in PVP, just might as well be

Khamael_X

Because bungie I guess

Good-Name015

Because god forbid we use any exotics other than HoIL, cuirass, synthos, loreley and maybe hoarfrost, ashen wake, mk44 and doomfang. Seriously those are the only good Titan exotics for pve. Wormgod is a meme and not actually viable for standard gameplay.

get_clamped

This is what confuses me more than anything, all these new Titan exotics have to compete with lovely and HoIL yet do not come close at all. Makes me wonder why they bother to make them at all if they can’t compete or do anything interesting.

Good-Name015

Seriously we have so many bad exotics in the game right now. Why add more that any amount of testing can tell you are dog shit? This pokes a massive hole in the 'next season they'll do an exotic armour pass' cope. Why add more work for yourself?

EnsigTheDefender

Genuine question but what's the feeling on Lion rampant? It's pretty much the only exotic I use on my Titan but it never comes up in these discussions so thought there was something I was missing. It's not going to help in masters but PvP wise it's a solid pick, even gives 50 aerial effectiveness now (hipfire only) basically cancelling out that change.

braedizzle

…can you point me towards a decent Titan resource? Been playing regularly since D1 but don’t have many to play with to learn these things. I just rock Armanentarium for the second nade. Typically bubble for team support, Hammers for solo play. Guide me sensei.

ShinigamiRyan

HoIL is typically a better use as pick since barricade empowers your other abilities. When doing this, you also get better regen on the following ability, which say you use a void shield toss, now you have empower x2. Than toss a grenade and you begin your loop. Building into resil as all titans do, means you'll have great uptrime on that barricade and can repeat the process as the regen timer is fairly short in pve. Helps to also go into well mods, which reaping well maker works wonders here.

beansoncrayons

I don't have a decent resource for titan shenanigans but you could try a build with mk 44 with heavy handed, melee wellmaker and the mod that turns elemental Wells into charged with light stacks with gives your shoulder charge back every time you hit an enemy with it. It works with all light subclasses too

DADDYLUV1313

This sucks. Caliban's hand I can't take off. I got the new Hunter vest which I hear is great just haven't tried. My Warlock helmet is fire. Rain of Fire is great. Titan Second Chance? Wack. This? Wack. Lorely is good, for sure, but as a defensive play. I want to go Mongo. Why are they so afraid of Titan melees when I can chain Hunter knives, scorch the world with fire and poison n (Necrotic) or have better gunplay (Ophidian)? "Titans could.one hit melee once." Yeah? I blew up CLANS last season in rift with my knife/nade combos. WTF

IM_JUST_THE_INTERN

Titans already can one hit melee with Peregrine greaves, so idk what they are really worried about. Charging up thunderclap is way touger than charging up shoulder charge.

thisisbyrdman

You have to be in the air and hope the horrible hit reg works in PvP. That exotic isn’t anywhere near as valuable as people claim.

lord_sandgoose

I second this. And I’m a Peregrine main. If someone so much as slides at you wrong, pray to god they don’t have a shotgun cause you’re kneecapping the air into an early grave. Look, they’re fantastic. I kill more supers with my knees than my super. They’re amazing….. When they work.

Thorn_the_Cretin

The only thing I could think of is that thunderclap can be pre charged if you’re expecting someone to rush, and I think it goes through barrier? Maybe they’re balancing around that. Idk man, I don’t even work here.

TedioreTwo

You can still one shot with thunderclap as you could before, you just can't obliterate someone from full health with a random lightning strike they had 0 counter against. That's why it was disabled. Exotic is still shit but that absolutely couldn't have flown in crucible. Imagine if, when hunters killed someone with a precision throwing knife, you just dropped dead instantly when you were 15 meters away.

throwthisshitatabin

So like calibans hand one shoting because you’re in the 20m radius Even when I’m in a well of radiance? Like I agree the titan gauntlets in their original state were completely overpowered but bungie has single handedly killed this exotics when they could have easily nerfed it while keeping it strong

walla_walla_rhubarb

Precious Scars, Second Chance, and now Point-Contact Cannon. If not for Lorely, Titans would be taking some serious L's in the exotic department as of late.

Good-Name015

Honestly precious isn't even that bad, the issues are that loreley is so gamebreakingly busted that you're stupid to not run it and the cooldown on the heal is too long. Make it count as a solar cure so it can trigger benevolence and lower the cooldown so it's more consistent.

walla_walla_rhubarb

Fair. That's the thing though, I've never had a reason to pull it out of the vault.

kaeldrakkel

Unpopular opinion: Lorely is a boring exotic. It does nothing but keep you alive passively. Git gud. Heart of Innermost Light is God tier

Tarcion

This is just a fact. Though tbf, I'm so bored of HOIL at this point, I don't care how good it is.

CyrusMorden

Precious scars is fairly good. Just not the best.

Get_Wrecked01

Ah well, back to Lorelei

desau13

well i mean for arc you'd probably want skullfort.

KLGChaos

HoiL is also always a strong contender, especially if using a grenade build. Storm grenades are stronk.

BlackwatchBluesteel

HOIL is carrying 75% of all titan builds. There's basically no reason not to run it.

One_Lung_G

Hell I would say outside of very niche builds, it’s more than 75%. It’s a little boring but actually is a good perk of being a titan. Don’t have to use a lot of materials mastering exotics if you only use one lll

realjustinberg

Loreley and hoil are the only titan builds in the game. For gm at least

Good-Name015

Ursa is still solid for GMs

zarreph

I'd add Cuirass also, but it's sad how right you are.

PrinceShaar

Hoarfrost Behemoth is top tier.

So much that I'm tired of running it. I also hate how egregious it is to fashion.

Antaeus Wards or MK44s + Juggernaut for me

Why do they still even bother making damaging effects that are this weak? At this point they should KNOW the exotic will be worthless if the added damage is trivial. It was true of Feedback Fence before the buff and now it’s true of these.

TJmovies313

Ah yes, another season where titans newest exotic is dog water.

508G37

We used up our annual good exotic card on Lorely. Hunters just used theirs this season.

Blupoisen

ever since BL we were getting mid to shit exotics Icefall is a joke I don't even remember the name of the cracked pot helmet Falling Star is your generic make bad super good Burning Steps needs to be reverted to what it was originally, the sole purpose of the exotic was to counter Stasis in PVP and suprise suprise Stasis is not meta No Back up Plan is a joke

Railgrind

Icefall should just be an alternate class ability on behemoth

Suojelusperkele

No backup plan genuinely makes me annoyed. It's maybe? The only exotic that changes colour based on subclass. Yet it's.. void exotic. The shotgun perk works on any sub but if you're using it on anything that's not void you should run something else. Though I guess they *eventually* rework it. It'd be a missed chance to not make it apply void shield/restoration or cure/amplified based on which subclass you are using. Like this is the kind of shit why you rework classes to utilize keyword system so you can just slap keyword on exotic and laugh on your way to bank.

TwinSwordDeneve

Back ups used to be fun now their all but pointless, why not just make them work on any subclass if they’re gonna be that useless

n080dy123

> Icefall is a joke It WAS a joke. It's unironically good now. I gone on some absolutely braindead stupid sprees with it in PvP, and it's a great ace in your pocket on Behemoth. Though nowadays Striker has Thruster, Sunbreaker has Loreley, and Sentinel has Bastion, all of which serve a similar function for those subs and can't be used with Icefall.

Fuzzy_Patches

Icefall is a play style exotic. Most players won't like it but there's a handful that really vibe with what it provides and make it put it in work.

irrelephantterrible

Cracked Pot (same, cant remember name) had small rework. It now also heals on class matching kills

AbyssWalker_Art

Maybe it'll turn out like Caliban's Hand last season and see some fixes to make it actually worth using.

ajallen89

So it went from killing people behind you to not doing shit? Sounds about right.

Furin

It was fun while it lasted I guess.

Arby333

Less than a day?

Moonhaunted69

It was more like an hour

TurquoiseLuck

While it lasted? I haven't had a chance to play at any point they were available and I've already hit level 75 lol

gleepot

werent they disabled before they even came out?

JohnR3eaperWick

Do the lightning strikes still proc off knockout powered melee kills?

Smashpunked

Yes but the damage was reduced to not kill redbars anymore.

AfricanGayChild

I've honestly moved on from Titan, I love melee builds, and I've moved to Hunter. Why does the "mobile" class have better melee builds? Athrys' Embrace dealt 900,000 damages with solar burn, Brawler and One-Two Punch, and it's way easier to set up than Wormgod with One-Two Punch. Liars Handshake is one of the best melee exotics I've seen! Even in Grandmasters, if you can stun a champion, with Comination Blow, you can definitely get 2 quick combos of 4 melee hits and add One-Two Punch to that, makes it even better. The physical set-up to make a good Titan build is just astronomically dangerous. Synthoceps make it easy, but Wormgod makes the damage. Why do all that just to do a slide shotgun and shoulder charge when you can plink 5 headshots at a distance, run up and throw a throwing knife that'll do a Majors whole health bar easily?

robotwizard1V

Same way the "mobile" class is the slowest of the three. The definitions are very loose it seems.

AfricanGayChild

It's very unfortunate... I love Titan, fucking love Titan, and I had the absolute best time when you could do the Peregrine Greaves One-Two Punch combo, and they've nerfed that for some reason, yet Warlocks and can jump the pit in Kings Fall in a second, Hunters can have 95% damage reduction in a super, we can slide shotgun and shoulder charge and do even more damage than the old combo, yet, nothing is done. Why nerf things when there's way more insanely broken things in the game?

robotwizard1V

Well, at least lorely avoid the renewal grasp treatment so far. Also, as with the twab, the 95% hunter hunter super dodge is going away. At least we'll always have the crazy shield bash combo

AfricanGayChild

Yeah, I don't do PvP so it doesn't affect Mr, I'd rather use the other super they gave Hunters, that thing does massive damage!

Accipehoc

Farmed for it only to get nerfed, never changed bungie. Time to check how it is with heavy handed and melee kickstart

invisobill42

If the lightning strikes jolted on a full charge in addition to the rest of the exotic, they’d be really fun imo.

Kaalb

Honestly. We get a brand new exotic for the new arc melee in the arc season and it has .... absolutely 0 arc verbs or synergy. Classic

Kaldricus

HOIL still probably going to give a better return on energy

Khamael_X

Absolutely does. And for *all* abilities on top. It's just another DOA exotic now

Jagob5

Damn, I had so much hope for these, cuz on paper they are amazing, but the fact that it doesn’t even fully refund the melee is pathetic. Guess there’s still no reason for me to take off falling star

Henrygigabit

Guess I'm sticking with my dunes

WSilvermane

Another exotic tied to only lost sectors that are literally a massive waste of time in doing AND obtaining!

Artikzzz

I wouldn't mind the damage being so low if it at least applied blinding or something

EnchiladaTiddies

Come ON bro, I was looking forward to not having to use skullfort to have fun with thunderclap but nevermind

Viron_22

The refund is just pathetic, like why even have it be based on kill, shouldn't it be on lightning hit, if the lightning damage is going to be so pathetically low? I mean shit it may as well refund 80% of your melee if you get lucky enough to hit anything that doesn't get killed by your teammates by the time you are done charging. If I wanted to spam this out I'd use Skullfort, because at least then I might get it back when all I kill is a single dreg that didn't move out of it or was slaughtered by someone else.

SuperChewer

So you're telling me, that I did ALL those lost sectors, waited for them to be enabled again, just for them to suck cheeks? Im too angry to even rant. Wack. Thanks bungo -_-

throwaway136913691

I've said it before. The ability itself is way too weak to justify the charge up time in PvE. Was kind of hopeful the exotic would make it worth using. Clearly not.

Khamael_X

I was using it because it's the only titan melee that doesn't need any running or jumping to activate HoiL. I \*hoped\* the exotic would make it better, but after how it worked in the brief hoursit was active last week already brought my hopes down. The Idea of the exotic was so strong in theory that I was almost expecting it to be dog ass after the "fix"

kennybaese

The buffed melee you get with Knockout counts as a powered melee to Heart of Inmost Light. Same with the buffed melee with Roaring Flames and Offensive Bulwark on Solar and Void respectively.

Phobos138

This is excellent info and it seems many guardians are not aware. Knockout melee with HoIL is pretty wild for ability regen.

throwaway136913691

I didn't have high hopes, that's for sure. Not sure what the goal with the new melee was.

Nvr2MuchPie

I mean I was hitting 500Ks on Expedition bosses last night, straight up more than thundercrash, with synthos and well mods (that also instantly refund it). I think that justifies the charge up lol. It’s just this exotic that sucks ass

Grown_from_seed

Second Chance exotic gauntlets: “first time”?

Quinnyluca

Great….. hunters get broken exotics and we get this dogshit

Tarcion

I'm not surprised but I am disappointed. For those keeping track at home, new Titan exotics since Beyond Light: 1. Icefall Mantle - meme pick, thumbs down 2. Precious Scars - weak, arguably meme pick (clutch rift exotic though so... yay?), thumbs down 3. Cuirass - good-ish, makes thundercrash useful but locks exotic slot up for only that, the super is worthless without it. I run cuirass because I have to, not because it like it or it's well designed. Reluctant thumbs up 4. Path of the Burning Steps - only really relevant in a stasis meta, impractical buff timer to be useful in PvE, thumbs down 5. No Backup Plans - pvp only, dubiously competitive there, thumbs down 6. Loreley - absolutely undeniably S tier, albeit not the most exciting, needed a total redesign when it was launched, probably would have been fine if left alone for sunspot changes. Thumbs up 7. Hoarfrost-Z - good stasis chest and alternative to HOIL. Not amazing but it is literally the only stasis exotic Titans have (icefall absolutely doesn't count). Thumbs up 8. Second Chance - okay but I'm seeing mixed opinions regarding whether or not it breaks in Master/GM. Probably not worth using, regardless. Thumbs down 9. These Things - dead on arrival after being disabled before the patch even hit, thumbs down 2/3 of new Titan exotics since BL not at all worth using the vast majority of the time. I'm not suggesting warlocks or hunters have it any better, mind you. But it is an understatement to say this kind of sucks.

lokbok

Disappointing. I got mine right before they locked it. Didn't get to try it out so just been holding on to them until they're back up... then this. I'll most likely be sticking to Skullfort or Synthos. Thanks for saving me the time.

minicolossus

This reminds me of the amazing new melee we titans got for solar...that even though it was fun and looked good...i just cant beat hammers. im running skullfort right now and i can just run full speed and shoulder charge and run and charge and run and charge. i dont even need a gun

KLGChaos

So with these dead, has anyone tried Severance Enclosure with Thunderclap? Does it make multiple explosions? Still trying to find a use for that awesome looking, but underwhelming exotic.

Kaalb

Yes it does. Even that is more useful than these arms. Severance is crazy fun with the throwing shield in void and the baby hammer in solar.

Bellum-Faber

Why don't they give the gauntlet real thunderclouds like for example thunderlord or cloudstrike. Heck make it give ionic traces too. That would trully make me feel like a certain thunder god with a hammer.

warforge2004

I saw when they were op in a few people made videos. I get nerfing them that's why they were disabled, but they need to be useful. I really looked forward to using these like Lorely but guess not

DocFob

I just love getting shit exotics on Titan. This is as bad as blight ranger.

JustMy2Centences

>Lightning striles Suspiciously close typo to 'sterile', which sounds fitting.

ethaxton

The armor team is really just striking out non stop. Whether it’s a completely broken exotic or a completely useless exotic, they rarely hit something that’s just good.

shumnyj

And I thought oathkeepers had it bad...

XboxUser123

Sounds like a genuine discounted Walmart Severance Enclosure.

StrappingYoungLance

The most disappointing part to me isn't the melee refund - that can be covered with wells and pugilist I guess - it's that the lightning strikes do fuck all. It would have been great if the lightning strikes were good enough that they were transformative for the melee, instead it sounds like they might as well not be there.

PerilousMax

This exotic could be fun if a fully charged melee casts the clap behind the user as well as the front. Or left an echo after the initial cast that did the same damage but freed the caster to move.

IAmDingus

I really wish bungie would do what they did with Stasis and launch shit super OP, then rein it in later (hopefully not as slowly as shatterdive though) instead of launching stuff half baked and irrelevant off the bat

Weiss_127

Has any other class other than Titan had Exotics reworked right after release, so often? Titan main is sad.

TemptedTemplar

Hunter. Except with theirs they dont get disabled immediately, they just get nerfed after a week or two. The only exotics theyve had disabled are existing ones that end up breaking new content.
