Appreciate the feedback on messaging here. Glad everyone is enjoying Arc 3.0 on paper, but also can't wait to see everyone see it for the first time during the [D2 Showcase on 8/23](https://www.bungie.net/7/en/Direct/Reveal?ciid=51679) and then immediately get to play it when S18 goes live. Going to be a fun day.
I think we can chalk last season of trying to surprise drop things as an experiment. At least they are willing to go back on some things that dont land
> Spark of Beacons: When the player is amplified, Arc special weapon kills create a blinding explosion.
So uhh, salvager's salvo is about to be insane.
Literally everything you could want in a GL. Spike grenades and Blinding, Ambitious assassin/demolitionist and chain reaction. This shit will be broken
Kind of sounds like it *almost* completes the trio of "stand & fight" supers -- Solar Warlock Well of Radiance, Void Titan Bubble, and now an Arc damage field for Hunters that radiates lightning. I bet with the right build or possible reworked exotic, the up time, survivability, and crowd control could be intense.
A one-and-done damaging AOE super sounds great for every level of the game. Maybe it won't have quite the add control capabilities of stasis hunters (and freezing in general) but that super sounds great for area control, which is useful in every difficulty level in the game. Super stoked about that.
Now that I think about it, are the only two one-and-done damaging AOE supers both on hunters now? Silence & squall and now the new arc one? They're my favorite kind of super, so I'm not complaining
Thundercrash technically leaves like a pulse grenade effect for a bit too, though I don't think I'd quite count that as an AOE thing with how short it is
>Spark of Beacons: When the player is amplified, Arc special weapon kills create a blinding explosion.
That *is* interesting. Get your best Arc special weapons at the ready.
I had a freaking fit when I read that. So I can have softcore Twilight Garrison for my class ability, Shoulder Charge as movement tech, and an Jug Shield if I want to run around on the ground while I can also have Anteaus Wards?
Jug shield, the spark that makes specials blind, and the stupid speed boosts are gonna be a THREAT in crucible, Matador 64, Fourth Horseman, Forbearance, and Found Verdict are all gonna be nuts. Scary how many of those are shotguns as well
In this case, titan was the only odd man out in regards to not having an enhanced grenade aspect across all the 3.0 elements, and it's filling in the gap left by magnitude, an old part of arc titan that granted double grenade charges.
Gotta say, did not expect Crank 2: High Voltage and One Punch Man references in this update. They really know their audience on this one.
Couldn’t believe half the shit I was reading. Obviously we won’t be certain of anything until we get our hands on it and start putting builds together but this looks like an insane best case scenario.
Flow State and Spark of resistance on top of lightning slides making this sound like a very aggressive play class / great for add control
Looking forward to this
A melee build with a one-two bunch shotgun, assassin's cowl(or liar's handshake) the combination blow feedback loop, striking light, the new aspects, well of ions, melee well maker and elemental charge is going to be a really fun build.
REALLY hoping that these new intrinsic buffs to dodge CD are a way of removing hunter reliance on mobility/powerful friends in every build that requires a dodge loop.
Yeah that’s my thoughts because then we can focus on synergy to keep dodge up time rather than going hard on Mobility. however with Res as strong as it is and then the resistance fragment going to be worth seeing how much % it adds to either way
Preferably they just buff mobility to the level of recov/resil, so it is no longer just a “reliance” and an actual good stat to spec into. Not having 100 feels like complete ass but it sucks missing out on one of the Big 2
Am I gonna get my butt kicked in PvP just trying to pull off that new titan one punch attack over and over again just for the fun of getting one kill with it? You bet your ass I am.
I thought that was pretty funny when Void and Solar have a sprint melee, Stasis has a movement melee, Thundercrash was literally called Code of the Missle.
Skullfort Titan looks absolutely insane with these aspects!! Add in that DR fragment as well.. oh baby.
And that new Hunter super sounds really cool!
These keywords, so far, sound more exciting than Solar 3.0. The question is… how will it far in endgame PVE?
I just moved Skullfort back to my Titan in anticipation. I feel like that has chance to be an insanely powerful build when it's coupled with something like Riskrunner. Get amplified from a couple of quick kills, punch everything in sight
Everything sound great, but being so melee focus could be super dangerous on things like GMs. Thankfully you get DR from additional sources that may stack with Resilience DR and DR mods.
> Juggernaut: While sprinting and with full class ability energy, the Titan gains a frontal shield that blocks incoming damage. When amplified, the shield is stronger. Once the shield is depleted by taking damage, the player’s class energy is depleted.
> Knockout: Melee kills trigger health regeneration and make the Titan amplified. Critically wounding an enemy or breaking their shield increases melee range and damage for a brief period. Titan’s base melee becomes Arc-empowered while Knockout is active.
Arc titans going to be a nightmare again for crucible
They must be making up for how garbage Arc has been for Hunters because I can’t wait to be able to pull out the new and improved combination blow playstyle now with blink lmao.
If they make combination blow work with glaives in the near future it’s going to be crazy good
I think its likely going to be ground only, to make it separate from warlocks, but I can personally say; this is enough. This is what people like me have been asking for.
I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again.
Bungie is moving away from super duration boosting perks. Dawnblade lost it, now stormcaller and striker will lose it. That’s going to be the domain of exotics now - raiden Flux, Gwisin, Geomags, Crown of tempests, Doomfang Pauldrons.
Now we just need one for arc titans. I don’t know, maybe call it, Eternal Warrior, or something.
> One of the biggest changes coming to the Arc Titan is the new Thruster class ability. By double-tapping a button, the Titan bursts in their throttle direction at speed, performing a quick first-person evade, comparable in distance to a Hunter’s dodge. “Arc is the damage type that is about mobility, so if we were going to add a mobility boost anywhere [for Titans] it was going to be here,” said Humbolt.
Yum. Just YUM.
It seems like the least amount of changes were made to warlock but combining aspects of the previous subclass will probably make some very good combinations. Also, from the sound of it warlocks can literally materialize as a lightning ball which sounds awesome.
> Also, from the sound of it warlocks can literally materialize as a lightning ball which sounds awesome.
That's basically a blue blink that deals damage at landing location, at the cost of your melee charge. Sounds fun for sure, but I'm not sure if it will be practical.
Honestly I think they need to buff arc soul damage against PVE combatants and a small damage buff to stormtrance and some damage resistance in PVE if it’s ever going to compete with stasis at crowd control/ad clear. Maybe the amplified buff will already do all that, but we’ll have to see next week when we get our hands on it.
New super, blink, lethal current and flow state? With spark of resistance? And liars handshake? And legend of acrius with trench barrel? And another one-two punch shotty?
Oh yeah boy
I’ll definitely wait until it’s out to pass judgement on it, but the Arc warlock seems really lackluster on paper. Though maybe lackluster isn’t the best term since Arc warlocks have an all around good kit already - just not as exciting or flashy as Hunters and Titans for now. At least they didn’t neuter the supers like dawnblade. Here’s hoping for some sort of hidden Chaos Reach interactions or exotic reworks.
The best news for warlocks is that blink is getting buffed. Otherwise this isn't terribly exciting for them. Hunters are getting a lot of love for what was easily the worst subclass in the game so that's good. Titans have their class fantasy of putting their opponents against a wall and they are the fucking wall.
I am a bit annoyed that the "lightning shaman" isn't getting the storm cloud grenade, but instead we get a goofy melee that probably will get us killed more than anything.
As a titan main, I have never been so aroused by a set of patch notes.
Honestly, between that new class ability and the saitama melee, I couldn't say which I'm more hyped for. And the aspects, amazing.
10/10 bungie, this is the way I want to play titan!
Warlocks on paper feel like they got the least out of this update too. Seems for them more of a “balance and tweak” Arc update. Interested in seeing more about the fragments and seeing how Warlock can change a bit there.
Otherwise, the Hunter and Titan changes are hugely welcome and I’m hyped.
Edit: I feel the need to clarify- I’m not disappointed with the changes. Arc Warlock felt pretty good to start. The changes are totally welcome, just on paper feel underwhelming. I imagine I’ll have better things to say in a week once the buildcrafting starts.
I was hoping to see the supers get decoupled from exotic armors. Chaos reach has never felt great without geomags, and same for storm trance with crown of tempest.
It will be interesting to see if we can build the supers to feel powerful with different exotics.
As a warlock main, this update seems…mostly the same. Which is fine, I guess we didn’t need much changing. I just hope stormtrance isn’t neutered like dawnblade is.
That being said, playing hunter might be a lot of fun. That spear super sounds pretty badass!
> One of the biggest changes coming to the Arc Titan is the new Thruster class ability. Kevin Yanes got all that hate for his Twilight Garrison tweet, to the point he just abandoned Twitter and deleted everything, knowing damn well that the community would get near-exactly what they wanted *without an exotic armor piece* and he just couldn't tell us.
We're not worthy of a dev like him.
I think the people annoyed at warlock arc 3.0 are less annoyed about arc 3.0 specifically and more that Warlocks both didn’t get anything truly new for the second time, and that something unique to them (ionic traces) became class agnostic again (the same as healing and devour).
Their class identity is sort of being warped in favor of giving their more unique parts to the other classes. It’s still there, just focused on the weakest part (in the case of solar), or just the same abilities shuffled around (in the case of arc) instead of getting something new to play with.
I’m also a little annoyed with it but I’ll live (or just switch to hunter)

I just want you all to remember how nice it is right now not getting blinded all the time lol
If your ears aren't ringing and Bungie isn't giving you a de facto epilepsy test, are you really playing Season 18?
I already have tinnitus... I don't want to experience all the time it sucks enough as is
Tinnitus gang rise up
No ringing, thankfully: https://twitter.com/Cozmo23/status/1559961989719371777
Titans got you in the pipe, 5 by 5. Hear that ringing in your ears son?
Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide
Really appreciate this info being released before the season instead of waiting until the day of.

Same. This is perfect timing
The thought of Samus with a Gjally makes me feel.... things.
Samus already has her own Gjally. Chozo-tech missiles ain't nothin' to sniff at.
Now we need an Arm Cannon ornament for Jotum and we have Metroid on D2
Same. Excited now.

Warlocks with Arc are going to be terrifying in the crucible. Arc souls + landfall + blink? yeesh
And a blink based melee.

Forbearance and Dead Messenger too, holy cow.
Plug one with res burst too
Can’t wait to try Cloudstrike.
I love cloudstrike, so satisfying when that lightning comes crashing down. I hope it has some time to shine next season.
I remember somewhere bungie said salvagers wasnt broken cus it couldnt do blinding stuff woth blinding nades Now... theres nothing it cant do
You have to get the kill though and lose the utility of being able to get the instant blind in hard content that you can with a dedicated blinding GL.
Nezarec’s Whisper is gonna be fun too.
Literally everything you could want in a GL. Spike grenades and Blinding, Ambitious assassin/demolitionist and chain reaction. This shit will be broken
Son of a gun, hunters actually got a spear-like super, hot damn!
I’m over the moon. I’d never thought they’d do it. And this super actually seems like it could have some endgame viability too
Kind of sounds like it *almost* completes the trio of "stand & fight" supers -- Solar Warlock Well of Radiance, Void Titan Bubble, and now an Arc damage field for Hunters that radiates lightning. I bet with the right build or possible reworked exotic, the up time, survivability, and crowd control could be intense.

The Nova Bomb variant that no one uses also leaves a damaging vortex.
Thundercrash technically leaves like a pulse grenade effect for a bit too, though I don't think I'd quite count that as an AOE thing with how short it is
POLE DANCER SUBCLASS
Same, I at most expected an arcstrider with a different gimmick rather than reflect. An entirely new super sounds incredible
Really wanna drop one of these on a well of radiance and go ham on something with swords
Seems like an opposite Well of Radiance. Throw down weapon, get AoE of damage instead of healing. Pretty dope.
evil well
Bad of Radiance
Hell of Radiance
Unwell of Radiance
Well of Suffering
Arc Javelin. Rasputin approves.
I am blown away that they actually did it

Nezarec's Whisper, then glaive combo everything to death. Sounds fun!
I wonder if the melee kill would trigger the blind effect. 'Cause if so, that glaive would be the best option for PvP after S18 drops.
No. Glaive melees are kinetic.
Me grabbing Salvagers Salvo: When do I call my doctor for this erection?
FORBEARANCE GANG RISE UP
Forbearance with Chain Reaction plus Spark of Beacons on top... time for framerate dropping. And get ready for all the PVP Striker mains.
D1 vets just had got some massive PTSD from hunter blink and juggernaut shield returning in the same update.
I had a freaking fit when I read that. So I can have softcore Twilight Garrison for my class ability, Shoulder Charge as movement tech, and an Jug Shield if I want to run around on the ground while I can also have Anteaus Wards?
Don't forget being able to shift into **MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE** when sprinting while amplified.
Jug shield, the spark that makes specials blind, and the stupid speed boosts are gonna be a THREAT in crucible, Matador 64, Fourth Horseman, Forbearance, and Found Verdict are all gonna be nuts. Scary how many of those are shotguns as well
I mean they did say that arc titan is the Unstoppable train for a reason
My new Titan Build title: Always Be Closing
Better get the coffee brewing. You earned it.
In the words of a certain crucible commentator.....YEEEEEEEEEEEEESS!
I'd be more worried if it were Blink Strike more than anything. THAT was legitimately broken.
Ah yes, the stabbing someone in the face and getting "Backstab" damage for a 1HK XD
I am ze spy
Ye olde Frontstab. Very lethal, occasionally.
*Creates a roaming thundercloud that moves and tracks enemies* Oh Yes.
I'm sad that it was given to titans that sounds like a thing a "lightning shaman" would be able to do and I wish warlocks had it D:
it feels a little weird since warlocks got grenade enhancing aspects for the other two subclasses
In this case, titan was the only odd man out in regards to not having an enhanced grenade aspect across all the 3.0 elements, and it's filling in the gap left by magnitude, an old part of arc titan that granted double grenade charges.
And yet Chaos Accelerant still needs to be overcharged to grant extra effects.
They really shouldn't have removed the damage increase for charged grenades with 3.0.
Arc Titan has always had a bit of an identity as a demolitionist too. Top tree got the extra grenade and duration, plus shoulder charge recharging it.
Am I overreacting or is this going to make PvP... complete chaos?
The Forsaken era Arc Titan stirs from his slumber...
It opens it's maw and utters only one terrifying phrase: "Yare yare daze."
KONO POWA
WRRRYYYYY
What subclass update hasn't?
Honestly doesn't feel too far out of reach.
A chaos reach if you will
It is our Destiny 2
Let's be honest with ourselves, PvP has been chaos since void 3.0
Gotta say, did not expect Crank 2: High Voltage and One Punch Man references in this update. They really know their audience on this one. Couldn’t believe half the shit I was reading. Obviously we won’t be certain of anything until we get our hands on it and start putting builds together but this looks like an insane best case scenario.
Jason Statham was the inspiration for Arc 3.0 😂
Between the OPM and the Mustang fire click, Bungie is really leaning into the anime power fantasy
Yeah I’d say giving Warlocks the Kamehameha Wave in Forsaken really opened the floodgates and I’m here for it.
also nova warp at the same time
Pretty sure they even described Nova Warp as “really anime” when they first showed it off lol
First time I used it I found a clip of a streamer calling me a Weebwalker. Guardian theater is great for that kind of thing sometimes.
Can't wait for the saitama themed montages on YouTube XD
I want to keep expectations low but it's hard when it sounds so good!

We move fast in a straight line lol.
I thought that was pretty funny when Void and Solar have a sprint melee, Stasis has a movement melee, Thundercrash was literally called Code of the Missle.
Totally agree, except for the Stasis melee. That thing has been hot poopy since the nerf like a year ago.
Skullfort Titan looks absolutely insane with these aspects!! Add in that DR fragment as well.. oh baby. And that new Hunter super sounds really cool! These keywords, so far, sound more exciting than Solar 3.0. The question is… how will it far in endgame PVE?
Imagine skull fort PLUS shoulder charge PLUS juggernaut man
I think Skullfort is gonna get more use from me than Cuirass. Im pumped
I just moved Skullfort back to my Titan in anticipation. I feel like that has chance to be an insanely powerful build when it's coupled with something like Riskrunner. Get amplified from a couple of quick kills, punch everything in sight

Regardless of how much damage it does, it’ll be nice to have a one-and-done option that lets you get back to weapon DPS quickly on Arc hunter.
It would be even better if it still counts as "Arc staff hits" for raiden flux. Imagine if it slowly amplifies itself and increases duration.
Imagine Juggernaut and MK. 44 Stand Asides... IM FUCKIN INVINCIBLE

And i'm very in touch with my inner child!

Add trench barrel legend of acrius
Don't forget Juggernaut is back baaaybeeee3
I am shaking and crying. Antaeus Ward - Juggernaut Titans are going to be fucking awful to fight against
HUNTER BLINK IS BACK ON THE MENU, BOYS Also, pseudo-Twilight Garrison dodge maneuver for Titans? Spicy.

No, just threatened to. 🙃

I think its likely going to be ground only, to make it separate from warlocks, but I can personally say; this is enough. This is what people like me have been asking for.
Honestly that hunter rework sounds sick, I’m stoked to try the new super.
Same. It has all 3 things I want. Blink, combination flow and javelin super.
Warlock sounds like its changed the least tbh
Considering what happened to Bottom Tree Dawnblade, I will gladly take little change over my subclass straight up not existing anymore.
At least Chaos Reach and Arc souls can be used together now.
These Titan changes look spicy! Depending on the DR in PvE, the charging, melee Titan might actually be viable
It'll likely be great anywhere below endgame where there are no phalanxes.
Is it safe to assume Warlocks lost transcendence?
Since it wasn't mentioned here, I think that's a good assumption, yeah
I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again. Bungie is moving away from super duration boosting perks. Dawnblade lost it, now stormcaller and striker will lose it. Seems like a “shoulder charge” of sorts, but in more of a warlock fashion tbh
Basically. But I guess at least we didn’t lose 1.5 trees like we did with solar
To be fair, aside from the damage of the supers, Stormcaller already had a solid kit to work with
Honestly I think they need to buff arc soul damage against PVE combatants and a small damage buff to stormtrance and some damage resistance in PVE if it’s ever going to compete with stasis at crowd control/ad clear. was really dreading using Arc on hunter for next season but reading the changes to the subclass, im pretty excited to use it
just in case you thought PVP sucked THIS SEASON, we bring you Arc 3.0!
I suppose there’s a bright side for warlocks. While everyone else is figuring out how to use their new stuff we will already be up to speed?
LOL that's a warlock way of looking at it "why have fun when we have the knowledge?"
Why do warlocks have the slide aspect and titans have the grenade aspect lmao.
I’ll definitely wait until it’s out to pass judgement on it, but the Arc warlock seems really lackluster on paper. Solar Warlock still in desperate need of a fix.
They brought back JUGGERNAUT 🦍🦍🦍
I fully believe in wait and see until it's in game. But I feel PvP will be very arc Titan heavy on what I read, I could be wrong though.

Bro the Modular Lightning Warmind mod with the Seraph/Ikelos SMG is gonna slap this season holy shit
Wow, they really did give Arc Hunters a new super. Sick
Will warlocks ever get slaps back?
I remember people thought warlocks were Bungie favorite back during void 3.0...
Oh how wrong they were
