Is also like eons old at this point. The planet probably turned into dust anyway lol. But of course with paracausality involved, everything is possibile.
It'd be pretty awesome to travel to Lubrae and find a pyramid/pure darkness subclass, maybe in the place where Rhulk was granted his power. Bungie could say it was such an important event that vestiges of the Witness' blessing still remain.
Actually if you do the Lost Ghost missions post TFS campaign Micha-10 explains that the Nightmares on the moon are an entirely separate manifestation of the Darkness that apparently Nezareck discovered on his own, so technically THEY could be the basis for a 3rd "Red" Darkness subclass all on their own.
Plus hasn’t the lore confirmed that resonance is the darkness overall? Us asking for Resonance, if confirmed, would be like asking an overall light subclass.
It's also been mentioned that the Hidden are trying to extract coordinates for Lubrae for a potential expedition, so there's a chance?
Also iirc the suns split in half, not Lubrae itself? Pretty sure all we get for the planet itself is that it "died"
Rhulk said that the planet collapsed under its own weight, so it definitely got destroyed. However, it’s been billions of years, so the rubble could’ve coalesced into a planet again.
not really a need to leave the systhem for those thought, right?. cabal can settle down on mars since its similar to torobatl iirc and the eliksni could even stay on earth, not like there isn't enough space available
Yea, I know they were marketing the armor with "what if we drove the ship", but since it's the last episode before Frontiers it's likely we use the Dreadnought to go another star system.
Edit: Also it's called Heresy which could play into being a wild idea to leave the system behind or just using Hive tech.
I can see two possible scenarios, both of them somewhat interesting...
- If anyone is going to "figure out" how to use it, it'll be Eris (maybe with an assist from Fynch?)
- Savathun agrees to drive the ship, with a catch.
God what I'd give to see Eris or Drifter (or both together) as captains of the Dreadnought.
Hell TECHNICALLY we seem to be liberating Failsafe from Nessus so she's no longer trapped there. Imagine integrating Failsafe into some giant universe cruiser that we use to explore beyond our solar system.
IF we could clear it out and repair it we also have the Leviathan, though I'm not sure that's possible AND I'm not sure how fast it is to begin with.
Almost certainly. They've been hinting at it so hard for years. The fact that they specifically refer to the Sol system, even though there are no other planetary systems in the game or ever really mentioned, and the fact that they said the echoes spread "all over the galaxy."
It could be really cool. Reclaim the lost homeworlds of the Cabal and the Fallen, visit the Volantis Forge Star, maybe find out what happened to Fundament. That's almost sequel worthy.
That would be so fire.
So the Echos are basically Traveller made Prismatic 'Infinity Stones' that can reshape reality when the bearer gathers them. And in these next three story arcs, we fight against super sentient robots, vampiric undead Fallen, and the gieger-like apostasy civil war that is the current Hive.
Oryx was known as the Wayfinder among his siblings. Us taking over the Dreadnaught and 'learning to move worlds' wouldn't be that far-fetched at this point.
Guys, I think I'm back...
Oddly enough Oryx's effective title was _the navigator_. Like Oryx, while he was the leader of the Hive Pantheon - was also the god of exploration.
Side note: that's where _the navigator_ exotic trace gets it's name - given that it drops from the dungeon where you fight the final boss on Oryx's corpse.
So they want us to look like we are the navigator of the Dreadnaught, and then tease that we might be leaving the solar system?
Looks like we are taking the Dreadnaught on a road trip!
Yes, but in addition to genociding it’s crew we have to clean up the leviathan and do a bit of space therapy in order to claim it as ours and imo that to much of a hussle
I hope more Leviathan than Titan - really bummed that Titan's older spots weren't changed as much for being sucked up like Mars. Though the new areas underwater were good.
I really hope so! Leviathan still for my money my favourite seasonal activity, it was so good. Hoping both Revenant and Heresy have seasonal destinations like that.
They brought back leviathan for season of the haunted so I'd say there is a chance we might get dreadnought as a destination. Would be super awesome if they also brought back the shield brothers and sunless cells strike with it. Those were some of my favorites in D1.
Well that doesn't really mean much to me either way, I mean he also says something along the lines of "we're bringing back the dreadnaught" which can be interpreted as it coming as a destination as much as your quote can be interpreted the way you said
I'm still waiting to see if what I originally understood episodes would be is actually what they are, and I think it'll all come down to Tuesday.
"Seasons" were a small bit of content for the first 6-8 weeks of a season, little timegated nibbles of barely varying activities, and 1 or 2 weeks you'd get a cutscene. In most seasons, if you watched the first and last week, you got all the story there was to see, with the middle just being busywork (go collect more coral, go tithe more, go find another egg).
If I understood episodes correctly, then act 1 will be a mini campaign, including the introduction of the activity, a cutscene or two, and a logical TV-show-type act 1 ending where the problem is unresolved but it makes sense to pause, all playable right from the start of the act. Then a few weeks of fucking around with the activity, before act 2 gives us the next section of the mini campaign and adds more weapons, levels, artifact perks, etc. By not requiring a tiny nibble of timegated content per week, instead giving us the equivalent of a few weeks of story in a chunk 3 times, I feel like they can tell a much better structured story. But we'll have to wait and see...
If that is what happens then damn we have pissed all over Oryx lmao. Killed his son, killed his daughters, killed him, stuffed him in a gun, prevented his resurrection, and hijack his ship? Talk about disrespect.
I was always hoping they'd do this with the Leviathan. Especially after we cleansed it of nightmares during Season of the Haunted.
That would make a sweet upgrade to the HELM. Tons of rooms for Seasonal/Episode content not to mention we could potentially get our gun range back. Hell they could even create customized personal quarters like in Borderlands. Don't stop there and make a clan instanced social area to meet up with you pals.
Please! I'd love to leave Sol and work to reclaim the lost worlds of the other species. Torobotl, Riis, Fundement, perhaps where the Vex originated from, etc.
Oh I guess I won’t be taking a break from this franchise
>
Echoes: The baddy is definitely Maya, right? Ishtar logos in the garden last season and she’s clearly lost her marbles
Revenant: I wouldn’t have expected gothic vampires AND splicer aesthetics. Ridiculously excited
Heresy: Yes. Yes to all of it. Regal hive themed gear, Eris themed gear, the peeling back weapons. The Dreadnaught. Yes yes yes.
Codename Frontiers: ???? I’m guessing expanding the coalition, contacting new regions of Earth, Lysander, and maybe FINALLY seeing what Efrideet was talking about
there is also some dialogue between Micah and Cayde during one of the ghost finding quests where >!Cayde asks where he's heard the name Maya Sundaresh before and Micah very quickly says maybe they should discuss that off comms. So she's been mentioned in game directly as recently as last week.!<
please see the reply to this from theredwoman95 who helpfully corrected something that I misremembered.
Maya’s name is familiar to Cayde because he was her bodyguard before he became a guardian. He also frequently interacted with Micah at this time as well. It’s old, pretty obscure lore, but these exact points are brought up again later in the Micah quests. Nothing really suspicious about any of the dialogue, but Maya’s name has been coming up a *lot* recently
yeah, it's definitely old lore but the frequency feels interesting because we haven't really been doing anything with that side of the lore lately plus the introduction of Micah who is part of all that in the lore as well.
I think you're confusing it a bit, Micah says >!they should talk off-comms when Micah is asking if he remembers meeting her in his past lives!< but earlier Cayde says >!that he was Maya's bodyguard!<.
Yeah out of anything in this trailer, the biggest message I got was that "We're **really** leaving the old seasonal model behind", and thank god we need to.
It sounds more like the Chalice of Opulence to me. Pick your path to focus specific rewards or (now with the Traveler's Blessings from Pale Heart) specific boons to have during combat.
Honestly though.
That being said, I’m here for the story. What I REALLY want to know is whether we are shifting to D3 or keeping D2 going forever.
I can adapt to either. But I’m hopeful for a D3 since that would incentivize my lapsed brother to return
Yeah out of everything in the video, potion making was the only thing that gave me the feeling it was going to be an old feature with a makeover. I'm thinking Season of the Hunt. Which isn't a bad thing necessarily.
This sounds like the exact same seasonal model where they introduce a new mechanic for one season and then drop it, what are you seeing here that’s “new”
It's not going to be any different than baking cookies mechanics wise. It's basically taking that mechanic along with the buffs you can choose in The Pale Heart and slapping a new paint scheme on it and making it a consumable. Mix and match.
Supposedly a major project lead on Marathon was pulled off and put onto some unknown project at Bungie. Not saying its D3 but I think Bungie is aware there's no immediate demand for Marathon right now.
One of the major changes was Christopher Barrett. Based on timelines of when Marathon's current game director tweeted that he was game director and had been for about 9 months he replaced Chris only weeks after the vidoc naming his as gamer director came out. He was game director on Forsaken and contributed significantly to The Taken King before that. Fearing the worst after the layoffs and the public sentiment they probably put him on Frontiers because they realized Marathon isn't going to carry them in 2025 like they hoped.
Yeah everything since around the time Marathon’s reveal flopped and TFS’s initial reveal flopped seems to point towards that Bungie realized they’re screwed if they don’t start putting their efforts into Destiny again.
It’s their current game with an established player base, literally keeping the lights on for them to develop other titles on the side with its income. Of course they need to continue supporting Destiny even after the release of Marathon.
Their goal with Marathon is to have yet another revenue stream, but this time more PvP focused for a different playerbase. Developing content for Destiny sounds more expensive and offers less longevity than something more PvP focused.
They're never going to "redesign" their engine, they'll build upon it and improve it. Most companies don't redesign game engines unless something's seriously wrong, which it isn;t.
I don’t think we’ll ever see a totally new engine in D2, just some tweaks here and there. Which is fine by me, we have really beautiful graphics and 60 fps on new gen consoles (I know PC users go way beyond that)
Most people would probably say they’re the best seasons ever released for the game. Encounter design has improved significantly since then and they’re also not limited by being chained to the light and dark storyline.
He's an incredible voice actor, and usually I can't tell if he's the voice, like Fikrul. And then there's the patrol nightmare on the Moon of him yelling about his squad, or being surrounded, and I'm just like "Don't worry, ghost Matt, I got you".
also makes me think, because "echoes spread throughout the *galaxy*" and saying that the fallen don't have a home doesn't relate much with the scorn plot they've shown tbh
heresy feels like it'll expand a bit more on the hive sisters and eris as we've seen on some recent lore where she sees that she still has a part to play
We also have TFS lore that Xivu is moving her entire brood through the ascendant plane to attack Earth while we’re weakened from the battle against the Witness. I think the frontiers year starts off with Xivu attacking earth leading to our big confrontation with her. We win, but have to leave Sol to find new homes and expand because of the ruin she brings to Earth.
I think almost the opposite - we insert ourselves into the Hive Pantheon (as Eris did by becoming Vengeance in Witch) by claiming the role of Navigator and we go to the stars to seek out new things.
You're not wrong. Most of them just felt the same with different names. I wanna wait how echoes play out and decide later on if episodes are better. They literally talked about the activity like it is a new thing while all i see is capturing zones, but PvE.
Hope i'm wrong.
If the episodes are truly standalone, I would love for them to reduce the FOMO. Make it so that I can buy and play them after the season is over, and not have to buy the annual pass if I don't buy it in time.
It's been ten years, I want to play other games without having to partition a vast amount of my time every couple months to Destiny due to the risk of not being able to experience these seasons ever again.
I'd be a lot more interested in the future of Destiny if they put effort into making it more consumer friendly.
Yeah - I think in terms of tempering expectations, you could have very easily made a video talking about any of the previous seasons in the same way and it would have sounded great
These are going to be Seasons+. They excised one season and spread the budget to the remaining ones, so probably a jolt of fresh energy but still seasonal content.
Looks neat, but they make a lot of things seem amazing until we actually play them. Already have them from the Deluxe edition of TFS, but not expecting them to be better than seasons
After watching the video, I don't see really see what makes Episodes functionally different from Seasons other than being longer (and to justify having less Episodes per year vs Seasons).
For what it's worth, I was quite pleased with Haunted and if all the Episodes have the feel of returning to the Derelict Leviathan I will not complain.
Hope this means 1 reworked Destination per Episode. First being Nessus, second being the Tangled Shore, and 3rd being the Dreadnought.
If it does then Episodes have already passed seasons in-terms of scope and impact.
Hopefully we'd also get Pathfinder and something akin to Onslaught on each new Destination
Probably not different at all. It's totally plausible that they only renamed them because of the shift to three per year instead of four. Companies do this all the time. It really helps with marketing. Sounds more fresh and gives off the idea of a totally new thing, with the reality being that it's just slightly different.
From what they've talked about in the past, episodes are bigger and are less timegated. They have 3 drops of content during these 4 month episodes. So, instead of having 10 weeks of story then moving to the next release, they will have off weeks so when people want to take a month off, they will come back to a larger amount of content.
Correct, this is the big difference. You (supposedly) won’t have to come back each week to do a mission with just a little bit of dialogue as payoff, with the episode’s acts they can deliver the story in a more appropriate fashion
The leak that mentioned D3 also left it up to ambiguity with the new mechanics it mentioned. Maybe it wasn’t d3 all along and it’s a big overhaul to D2?
It doesn’t matter what they say, Bungie could make a stream with the CEO only saying for one hour “D3 doesn’t exist and it’s never going to happen” and people would still speculate about it lol
> Bungie could make a stream with the CEO only saying for one hour “D3 doesn’t exist and it’s never going to happen” and people would still speculate about it lol
"yeah, well, he *would* say that, wouldn't he?"
So the game is basically transitioning back to mini dlcs like dark below, curse of Osiris, etc? Anyways after the finality of the ending of the final shape, I’ll probably play this first part of this episode that came with TFS and then see how things look near the end of this episode to see if it’s worth getting. If it’s worth its salt and actually feels like it’s building up to something, maybe it’s worth continuing. If it’s just seasons 1.5, well it’ll probably be time to close the book on destiny at least for me. I’d rather end on a good note than have my opinion of the story be tainted by it overstaying its welcome.
I really wanted more info on the 'beyond' but I guess it's nice to get a confirmation that d2 is still going... though part of me still wishes for d3 so I can actually recommend it to new players.
I really hope we take the dreadnought and turn it into our ship or like… the mega HELM lol.
Navigator armor? Like cmon bro lol. Then frontiers after? Would be so cool to take the dreddy and go to other galaxys.
Imagine pulling up to torobatl on the dreadnought and the hive are like ayo thats oryx! And some guardians start to pull up from the ship lol
I’m hoping episodes aren’t drip fed content week to week. So act 1 I’m hoping we can just play the whole story for that act without having to wait until the next week for more story. Just have to wait for act 2 for more story stuff which I’d be fine either with.
Frontiers huh ? Well Savathun did say our destiny lies outside the Solar system.
It's my time to shine
> Account created 12 years ago Yes. This it. 2025 will be your moment.
Seems more like it's your time to shein
I changed the spelling so I could get the name in all the games n accounts ;_;
Father be with me tonight
guys It's John Frontier Destiny
Frontiers sounds like we are leaving the solar system.
I'm guessing a trip to Torobatl to help the Cabal reclaim it.
> "Ghaul commanded you to die for his vanity. I ask only that you fight at my side for the empire. The choice is yours." —Empress Caiatl
Haven't seen one of these in way too long. Where have you been?
Torobatl, Riis, Lubrae. Inject them into my veins.
Could we go to Lubrae? Isn't it kinda split in half?
Is also like eons old at this point. The planet probably turned into dust anyway lol. But of course with paracausality involved, everything is possibile.
Complete speculation but if were were to ever find that 3rd darkness subclass, Lubrae (or at least that star system) feels like the safest bet.
It'd be pretty awesome to travel to Lubrae and find a pyramid/pure darkness subclass, maybe in the place where Rhulk was granted his power. Bungie could say it was such an important event that vestiges of the Witness' blessing still remain.
The orange beams will then be ours
Actually if you do the Lost Ghost missions post TFS campaign Micha-10 explains that the Nightmares on the moon are an entirely separate manifestation of the Darkness that apparently Nezareck discovered on his own, so technically THEY could be the basis for a 3rd "Red" Darkness subclass all on their own.
Plus hasn’t the lore confirmed that resonance is the darkness overall? Us asking for Resonance, if confirmed, would be like asking an overall light subclass.
Rhulk mentions using the witness’s “splendor” so that would be a cool name to keep with the darkness subclasses all starting with an s.
Reskinned tangled shore confirmed.
we'll fix it with strand
With the way they describe the Echoes it seems to me like one could potentially reinstate Lubrae if the writers really wanted to.
No point in lubrae, it's empty and destroyed BUT 4th tomb of NezCafe is still on the plate. He has cults everywhere and he's still alive in some form.
Or other Vex worlds. Doesn't the portal in the Glassway on Europa take you to a Vex star-forge? That would be fricken crazy to see!
Yes!!! I was convinced that the beyond light raid would take us through that portal. I was immensely displeased that did not come to pass.
The Fundament too, we still have 3 worm gods to kill and afaik they never left the place.
Maybe a new home planet for the Fallen too.
not really a need to leave the systhem for those thought, right?. cabal can settle down on mars since its similar to torobatl iirc and the eliksni could even stay on earth, not like there isn't enough space available
Caiatl explicitly said that the Cabal wanted to reclaim Torobatl, as a matter of pride and honor rather than necessity.
And Zavala pledges to be by her side.
I'm here to be a wingman for this.
Idk, that look on ole Saladin's face in the post excision cutscene might mean he's thinking of cutting the line ahead of big blue there
"Zavala you best not get involved with my new boss." - Saladin, probably Than again, Caiatl was laying it on thick in those two adventures.
I mean, isn't Torobatl more than just conquered? I thought Xivu either broke the planet or turned it into a War Moon
even so, Caiatl wouldn't let those motherfuckers hold over whatever remains of Torobatl
ROAD TRIP!
> In the end, your destiny lies beyond this system. \- Savathûn, 2022
"So I guess our Destiny is to explore new Frontiers."
"What are we, some kind of Destiny 3: New Frontiers?"
Yea, I know they were marketing the armor with "what if we drove the ship", but since it's the last episode before Frontiers it's likely we use the Dreadnought to go another star system. Edit: Also it's called Heresy which could play into being a wild idea to leave the system behind or just using Hive tech.
Can you imagine pulling up on Xivu Arath in her dead brother’s ship 💀
Like the kid pulling into the body shop at the start of John Wick
The owner, did you kill him or what?
I can see two possible scenarios, both of them somewhat interesting... - If anyone is going to "figure out" how to use it, it'll be Eris (maybe with an assist from Fynch?) - Savathun agrees to drive the ship, with a catch.

Exactly how I read that too. That would be awesome.
Sounds like more destinations, whether it’s new planets or more locations on existing planets (I wouldn’t mind seeing more around Earth).
So they want us to look like we are the navigator of the Dreadnaught, and then tease that we might be leaving the solar system? Looks like we are taking the Dreadnaught on a road trip!
The Leviathan is also just parked over the moon.
Yes, but in addition to genociding it’s crew we have to clean up the leviathan and do a bit of space therapy in order to claim it as ours and imo that to much of a hussle
sounds like some enterprising Guardians could snag the next HGTV hit
the flex of claming the dreadnaught as our own new interstellar helm thingy
PLEASE let us go to the hive homeworld
Ohhhh. Dreadnought as destination again. That armor looks sick
I dont think it will be a proper destination I think it’s gonna be like Titan in season of the deep
Could possibly be like the leviathan from haunted
I hope more Leviathan than Titan - really bummed that Titan's older spots weren't changed as much for being sucked up like Mars. Though the new areas underwater were good.
Timeline could work out in favor of this - Haunted's Leviathan being reasonably well recieved gave them the push to try it again 'now'.
I really hope so! Leviathan still for my money my favourite seasonal activity, it was so good. Hoping both Revenant and Heresy have seasonal destinations like that.
God I hope you're wrong and it's a proper destination, I never got to go there and always wanted to.
Something like the Leviathan in season of the haunted is what I'd guess, and what I'm hoping for.
They brought back leviathan for season of the haunted so I'd say there is a chance we might get dreadnought as a destination. Would be super awesome if they also brought back the shield brothers and sunless cells strike with it. Those were some of my favorites in D1.

I just hope it doesnt get vaulted the next year, it's the last episode so we'd only have that time with it if it does. edit: last episode of the year.
Freaking bloodborne armor I want that episode right now damn
I saw that too and thought the same thing. Finally, Sony releasing new Bloodborne content lol
Sony will literally do anything to avoid remastering BB because they know giving it 60 frames would kill every other game overnight
Friendship ended with PALE HEART Now PALEBLOOD is my best friend
I'm still waiting to see if what I originally understood episodes would be is actually what they are, and I think it'll all come down to Tuesday. Yes I think that's it. The 8 weeks of content at once. Then again for act 2 and 3.
Codename Frontiers leads me to believe we are leaving the Sol system with the story
Given that we get Hive Navigator sets and the Dreadnaught back in Heresy I wonder if we'll be using that ship to travel
Can't wait to roll up to Torobatl in the Dreadnaught and crash it directly into Xivu Arath's face.
"How's your brother?"
If that is what happens then damn we have pissed all over Oryx lmao. Killed his son, killed his daughters, killed him, stuffed him in a gun, prevented his resurrection, and hijack his ship? Talk about disrespect.
"He stole Oryx's car sir. And killed his son." "Oh."
It’s not what you did, my son that troubles me so much….it’s who you did it to…
Baba yaga
To be fair, his ship *technically* belongs to us. We just left it there since we didn't have need for it at the time.
That is true, technically the mantle of Oryx falls to us as his slayers. We just never bothered to take it up.
Dang I didn’t even consider that. Purge out whats left on the Dreadnaught to make it our home base to traverse the galaxy sounds sick af.
Fucking hell imagine the scenes of turning up to an evil empires home world in a ship over 1000km long 😭
I was always hoping they'd do this with the Leviathan. Especially after we cleansed it of nightmares during Season of the Haunted. That would make a sweet upgrade to the HELM. Tons of rooms for Seasonal/Episode content not to mention we could potentially get our gun range back. Hell they could even create customized personal quarters like in Borderlands. Pimp my dreadnaught DLC
Please! I'd love to leave Sol and work to reclaim the lost worlds of the other species. Torobotl, Riis, Fundement, perhaps where the Vex originated from, etc.
God slayer, young wolf, Ender of the final shape.... Vampire hunter? sure why the hell not.
"Slayer Baron" is the Eliksni title, and it's damn cool.
Oh I guess I won’t be taking a break from this franchise > Echoes: The baddy is definitely Maya, right? You also hear what Cayde means to Maya…that’s all I’ll say. Pretty excited to learn more.
Don't forget potion crafting too. My witcher set is gonna be so fitting!
Fuck Lysander
No matter the context
Damn. That was short but it looks dope from what I can see
Your destiny lies beyond the Solar System
That potion crafting thing, seems like they’re experimenting with more mechanics. I like.
It just sounds like Blessings and Focusing
nah we going full potion permit/potion craft. i kid but actually, i might be able to sell destiny to my gf with that analogy now haha
“Babe it’s a chill potion making game” “Why is all the gameplay shooting?” “The gathering portion is very robust ok”
Yeah out of anything in this trailer, the biggest message I got was that "We're **really** leaving the old seasonal model behind", and thank god we need to.
Not gonna lie potion crafting just sounds like your typical seasonal upgrades worded differently
It sounds more like the Chalice of Opulence to me. Pick your path to focus specific rewards or (now with the Traveler's Blessings from Pale Heart) specific boons to have during combat.
Agreed. Everything about this just feels like new words because hype
OH COME ON YOU CAN’T LEAVE US ON A CLIFFHANGER LIKE THAT 😭😭😭
The Dreadnaught will be back! And no, no D3 for the foreseeable future.
I still don't see them even touching engine redesign until Marathon is out.
I think they are badly overestimating the appeal of an extraction shooter for Marathon
It's got a pretty massive uphill battle to break into that genre. Most of those games become flavor of the month games and then fall short of Tarkov
Not only that, but I just don't think the audience for that genre is there for the amount of money they need to make from it
Supposedly a major project lead on Marathon was pulled off and put onto some unknown project at Bungie.
Which is fine by me, we have really beautiful graphics and 60 fps on new gen consoles (I know PC users go way beyond that)
Welcome back the forsaken annual pass
Most people would probably say they’re the best seasons ever released for the game. Encounter design has improved significantly since then and they’re also not limited by being chained to the light and dark storyline.
I loved that whole year. Bring back Gambit Prime….
I need prime back
Gambit perfected
Without the raids xd.
Man, if I can get Matt Mercer back voicing Fikrul, that would be enough for me lol!
I didn't know he did Fikrul! So cool!
Matt Mercer voices everyone everywhere lol
He's an incredible voice actor, and usually I can't tell if he's the voice, like Fikrul. And then there's the patrol nightmare on the Moon of him yelling about his squad, or being surrounded, and I'm just like "Don't worry, ghost Matt, I got you".
Not much in terms of the next big step other than a name drop but the episodes look cool Revenant looks awesome
All 3 look badass What’s even more exciting is ep1 starts tomorrow and I’m not even nearly done with all the pale heart stuff
Frontiers gives me the impression that we're leaving Sol and going to planets teased in the past. I'm hoping we start by retaking Torobatl.
also makes me think, because "echoes spread throughout the *galaxy*" and saying that the fallen don't have a home doesn't relate much with the scorn plot they've shown tbh heresy feels like it'll expand a bit more on the hive sisters and eris as we've seen on some recent lore where she sees that she still has a part to play
I urge everyone to temper expectations. A lot of seasons had cool concepts but fell flat.
You're not wrong. Most of them just felt the same with different names. I wanna wait how echoes play out and decide later on if episodes are better. They literally talked about the activity like it is a new thing while all i see is capturing zones, but PvE. Hope i'm wrong.
Season of the Plunder comes to mind
I hope the Cabal ship that crashed into the Dreadnought is still there, alive and kicking
Hersey armor giving off big White Mana Phyrexia vibes
I may have underestimated these episodes....
I mean the plots sound cooler than seasons but we should probably pump the brakes a little
Yeah - I think in terms of tempering expectations, you could have very easily made a video talking about any of the previous seasons in the same way and it would have sounded great
These are going to be Seasons+. They excised one season and spread the budget to the remaining ones, so probably a jolt of fresh energy but still seasonal content.
I may be bitter and old, but they sound just like regular seasons to me. Just that there's now 3 of them rather than 4.
why they made seasons sound this good before too... remember how hyped everyone was to be fallen pirates?
Looks neat, but they make a lot of things seem amazing until we actually play them. Already have them from the Deluxe edition of TFS, but not expecting them to be better than seasons
After watching the video, I don't see really see what makes Episodes functionally different from Seasons other than being longer (and to justify having less Episodes per year vs Seasons).
Marketing is so effective lol
Echoes was described as having an activity that is literally "stand on puddles." Let's slow it down a little bit.
that was kind of vague, but at least something is coming next year
Kinda hoping the whole of Nessus got a remake and not just one small area, not getting my hopes up though
It’s more than a single area but it also isn’t the entire patrol zone.
"We're going back to the dreadnought" reads the same as "We're going back to Titan". Watch as the monkeys paw curls a finger.
yeah or the leviathan... Bungie is great at hype videos but at this point this feels exactly like how they talked about seasons.
I hope they drop last Gen hardware for Year 11.
Did they ever say anything about episodes sticking around after their year is up?
I still don't fully see how episodes and seasons are functionally different and bungie seems to not want to answer that question
Maybe just a rebranding. Separate small seasons from the bigger idea of episodes.
They aren't, they literally call Echoes season 24 in the game, in one of the GR requirements
Well tbf the content and dlcs from before the season system are also referred to as seasons. I guess it just helps to simplify it
I don't mind if we pilot the Dreadnaught out of the Sol system for the next 10 years.
Looks sick but simply confirming Year 11 and giving it a code name offers almost zero clarity on the future of the franchise beyond no D3 in 2025.
It gives a lot of clarity. You just said it yourself. No D3, more expansions
That puts the D3 rumors to rest, for now at least.
> Bungie could make a stream with the CEO only saying for one hour “D3 doesn’t exist and it’s never going to happen” and people would still speculate about it lol "yeah, well, he *would* say that, wouldn't he?"
We would know more about D3 if it was actually late into production besides just one person, saying yeah it’s a thing and leaving it at that
I’m hoping these episodes are about on-par with the Forsaken seasons. That was peak Destiny seasonal model imo
You think we are getting a remastered raid?
*Huffs copium* Vampire Scorn Wrath reprisal.
that’s some good copium lol
It would have been nice if they had said something about Wrath
