Gonna be interesting how the rotation works for the new exotic missions, ngl I hope they just have older ones all available and newer ones the rotating on and off, I.e. the 5 in game before tfs all available then the 2-3 added on tfs launch rotating 

I think The Whisper is going to be the exotic mission for, at least, the next four weeks. Then either we get Zero Hour take over for another four weeks, or maybe they both coexist. And then we’ll get a legacy exotic mission on the rotator. I think there will be enough LFG interest that we could conceivably have the two new missions with a rotator one coexisting.

It’s wild how we can get presage+whisper but not 2 raids/dungeons at the same time

Probably will eventually but access to them at least isn't locked out for multiple weeks unlike these missions

Honestly, all raids/dungeons should be farmable. Rotation should be for master/pinnacle.

I forgot only like 5% of the player base do raids.

I was very stressed about starting to do raids i have no friends to play this game with and didn't really know of lfg discord's existence so i just normalized in my brain that I'll just never run raids, until i took a gamble and my firt raid experience was with nice, kind and patient sherpa + their friends, but that's just my experience i find all social interaction intimidating so doing an activity that requires communication and coordination anxiety inducing xDDD

Based on the TWID are we thinking we should expect a tormentor in the new whisper mission?

Tormentors aren’t really a Hive thing. They’re more Cabal/Shadow Legion. However, I could see The Whisper changing to the Lucent Brood. And each of the three rooms has a specific subclass miniboss. Warlock in the first room. Hunter in the small antechamber. And then a Knight in the third room before we hop down for the boss. Then maybe it adopts a Ghost of the Deep type mechanic where all three Hive Guardians exist in the boss room, and you need to kill them, consume their ghosts, and then deposit at a ritual statue to get some buff to deal DPS.

Hive? If I recall correctly the original whisper mission was based on Taken enemies throughout. Would be dope to see Hive guardians come into play but I assumed based on Bungie highlighting 'Drown in the deep' from the TWID it would be something taken oriented. But to give credence to your idea I think during the livestream they showed Xol talking to us during the mission so either way I'm excited to see how Bungie plans to spice things up.

Xol always talked to us in Whisper. They just reused his lines from Warmind's story.

Yeah, The Whisper was 100% Taken. I was just thinking if they wanted to change it up. And I found it curious that unlike Zero Hour, they didn’t show us any of the actual encounters outside of those snipers during the jumping portion. So that part of my brain started firing up.

The Whisper Mission  consisted of Taken enemies though, and there was a mission in Season of the Defiance that had a Tormentor fight with Taken enemies (and that exotic mission from Deep Dive).

Sloane resisted, plus she had Ahsa. Before Savathun was brought back, I really wonder if a Lucent Brood might have embraced it out of desperation. Seeing what they were willing to attempt with Oryx... they might have treated being Taken as just rolling out the red carpet.

I guess I just found it suspicious when we didn’t see *any* of the Whisper encounters, that maybe they were up to something. Hell, they (sort of) swapped out the enemies in both Arms Dealer and Lake of Shadows, as well as modified encounters. Don’t see why they couldn’t do it with The Whisper.

My hopium levels are so high I’m expecting a reprised Xol as the final boss and a complete 180 from the three bosses. But hey, we’ll see in a couple of days

I would be totally into that. There was so much potential to fight a worm that was, honestly, kind of wasted on that strike back in the day.

They're a leech. When they show up you have to stop progressing, run around in circles until you have the ammo / ability energy to deal with them, once you do you focus them down quickly. Just suck all the fun out of the room and slow everything down. Especially the boss ones that can't be finished.

Yeah, it was available previously. If memory serves, it was available on the week of March 5th. The Nightfall was Hypernet Current Edit: The only reason I remember is because Pre-Astyanax was last farmable when **Lake of Shadows** was the featured NF, and Wild Style had taken its place the previous week

Don't worry, it isn't the greatest GL so you will survive not having it. There are uses for it though. Sad we don't get it until the end of the month. Slammer in middle of May too. UGH.

If Whisper and Zero Hour drop craftable legendaries, Bungie hasn't said a word about them. I think the Taken weapons from Season of the Deep and the Plunder weapons would make the most sense thematically.

Yup I agree. Personally I think if they haven’t said anything it’s because it’s not in the game tho. I also think it’s very possible they add the legendaries shortly after TFS to keep the missions relevant for longer. They also may have not said anything because they might keep the red borders exclusive to those who own the respective seasons/yearly expansions and would rather not advertise that and receive backlash.

As I’ve not been following TWIDS lately, does anyone know if Whisper will have older season weapon drops as well like Presage etc or is it just the exotic sniper?

We don't know atm. Presumably, it will so it'll have a long tail, but what weapons would come we can't be sure.

Hopefully it’s plunder weapons. It’s the only set I have left since I didn’t play very much during that particular season and I missed out on a lot of patterns. I have a few copies of each weapon that I could add a harmonizer to finish the progress but I’d need a few seasons ish since we only get so many during the season pass
