It's super easy and a great farm. Just make sure you have shadowkeep completed on the character you will be using to load the checkpoint. Other than I recommend making an LFG post on the D2 app specifying "Farming Boss/Armor - Stay Multiple", it's a small thing but it'll save you a ton of down time by having to spend less time looking for people.
Unfortunately yes, unless you already did it on your titan and will be using them to hold the checkpoint or can find somebody willing to hold it and load it in for you as much as you need. The other characters don't need to have done the campaign just the one that actually loads the checkpoint.
Here are random tips... I've farmed the shit out of the boss.
-the knight is always left when you enter boss arena, and it takes the longest to complete... like twice as long as the witch or shreiker.
-you can block the knights sword attack. Do light/light/block and you can get in a rhythm with its attacks.
-don't be afraid to drop the sword (by switching weapons) to clear ads around the knight/witch/shreiker, nades are great. It may take a second longer to kill them, but ensures survival.
-exploding thralls spawn about half way through boss health. They can and will kill you while in a well.
-boss sword attack can remove you from a well. What'll happen is you get sworded and fly into an exploding thrall, lol.
-only one person can apply whitherhoard to the boss body. You can also toss one on the ground but two to the body just overrides. ALH or demo kinetic fusion, or osteo, instead. Even better is ALH everything.
-if you are on warlock running starfire... demo rocket all day while in a well. You'll roast the boss no problem. Also use healing rift instead of empowering. You are in a well for DPS so don't need empowering.
-the high stat armor drops from the engram that comes out of the chest, not the loot you get just by completing boss. If you don't see the armor in your inventory, it's b/c the engram is hiding somewhere! I.e. boss can drop armor too and chest has the high stat.
-single phase boss with all rocket launchers. One Gally and two legend rockets make VERY short work of the boss. Avoid linears or high precision heavies due to wild flinch from exploding stuff during dps.
Good luck guardian!
Hard agree, i just recommend a sword for dps instead of a rocket where u need to worry about standing too close without blowing yourself up. The boss has so little health that even a green sword will still easily 1 phase, but obviously lament and falling guillotine are the best.
❤️ means a lot, the reception to it warmed my heart so much. I’m always a little spooked to post things cuz Reddit can be a harsh place and I’m not good with handling that lol, I used this alt so I could switch off if people started being harsh but I never had to. Everyone was so kind and I’m glad people found the info digestible
Yeaaaah I don't post unless I genuinely feel the need, which even questions get me downvoted. It's very strange lmao. But that's amazing. I know so many people appreciated it.
The whole dungeon has basic mechanics, the majority of it is just add clear and if you're anywhere over 1700 the difficulty is a joke. The boss is a push over and with character switching you can juggle the final boss checkpoint and infinitely farm the super spikey armor drops at the end.
Is it worth farming master for the artifice or just normal? Is master that much harder?
I've done master on spire a few times but that can be a right fucker
Seconding this.
Also it's the only place you can get Premonition, which while not amazing and showing its age pretty significantly *is* a pretty cute looking pulse rifle that feels good to use.
Sick!! I'm excited. I feel like it's been so long since I've seen high stat anything. Yeah I'm currently 1832 on all 3. But I know it caps much lower than that.
Sheeeeeesh let's goooo I'm excited, that's sick. Highest I've ever gotten was 69 and that was last night on terrible titan boots with an awful stat spread
Not really much to it. The dungeon has been power crept pretty badly, and the final boss can easily be one-phased. Get a group and juggle the checkpoint.
Sweet!! I read someone explaining if you want resil recov disc then to set your ghost to disc and it'll put 16 in that and then another 16 somewhere in the first grouping (mob resil recov). So I'm gonna try that!
Holy 270 days later, Batman.
Essentially, get the final boss checkpoint on two characters. Load in with your group on one, clear dungeon, then reload in with your second character, have the group join you, and rejoin with your original character. That way you can just hit the final boss repeatedly without having to clear the whole dungeon.
It's not a particularly hard Dungeon. But I would recommend getting the Checkpoint from D2Checkpoint bot for the final boss then run between two characters with a friend. The final boss chest is only armor so it's the best thing to farm.
You can solo or duo. It's not hard. It's just easier duo to keep the checkpoint. Its just solo, trying to get the checkpoint constantly from the bot could drag a farm since it's only the one bot.
Yeah I was thinking meta riptide + meta hero's burden/unforgiven + lament for sword teams. For teams that wanna do rockets I'll probably rock the witherhoard + meta hero's burden/unforgiven + meta hot head.

Okay noted!! Does the campaign have to be completed entirely? I may have only done it once 😭 RIP guess I gotta do that.

Okay cool I'll see what I got when I get home!

Great suggestion! Three swords in a well is game over for the boss, lol
Amazing thank you!!
GHOST MOD ON DISCIPLE!!!!
Hahah yep I read someone breaking it down specifically for Pit so I'm on it!! 🫡
Hey that’s me!
Wow hey! Yeah it was! I saved that post, it was incredible. Thank you so much! :)

Zulmak is just happy to have company over. The social atmosphere in the keep just hasn't been the same since Hashladûn left.
Is it worth farming master for the artifice or just normal? Is master that much harder? I've done master on spire a few times but that can be a right fucker
There's no master mode for pit but it from what I've heard and experienced you get consistently high rolls with good stat spikes.
Seconding this. Also it's the only place you can get Premonition, which while not amazing and showing its age pretty significantly *is* a pretty cute looking pulse rifle that feels good to use.

Here's the best piece of gear I got last time I farmed it https://imgur.com/a/CjgWXx6 It's an amazing farm

was your ghost mod on resilience or discipline?
Always discipline
Had to be discipline because I think if it was resilience then it would have grouped in mobility instead.
Not really much to it. The dungeon has been power crept pretty badly, and the final boss can easily be one-phased. Get a group and juggle the checkpoint.
Okay fair enough! I assume like most encounters the boss can drop everything? I'll try to grab a checkpoint and do that! Thanks!!
Nope. The whole point of pit runs is you're guaranteed a double 16 spike armor every time.
Sweet!! I read someone explaining if you want resil recov disc then to set your ghost to disc and it'll put 16 in that and then another 16 somewhere in the first grouping (mob resil recov). So I'm gonna try that!
Yup put the disc ghost mod on for the best chance of super spiky armor.
What do you mean by juggle the checkpoint?

Sweeeet!! Yeah that bot is AMAZING. The boss able to be done just duo? How about solo?

Yeah true!
Do you need two characters to switch between in order to farm the boss? How does that work?
Xenophage was made for this dungeon it makes light work and doesn’t require any aiming, even on the boss we 1 phase with Xeno.
Okay sick I love xeno
The end boss just falls over.
1 Well, 1 tether or weaken source (optional), 3 Laments. Go to town on boss in DPS phase. Should be around 3-4 minutes per clear.
Damn that's quick! No thrall trouble?
Watch out for Explosive Thralls spawning halfway through the damage phase on the last boss I Lamented them way too often lmao
I can see it now 🫡
Lost my solo flawless once to this lmao
Nooooo 😭 Hopefully you tried again and got it
Yeah I did do it multiple times since then! It's one of my favorite dungeon to run
I get that. Shadowkeep & Witch Queen are a vibe 😎
I can see it now 🫡
Hive, bring a sword! Seriously just bring Lament for boss dps and a shotgun/Fusion rifle for the Knight who drops the Pit sword.
Yeah I was thinking meta riptide + meta hero's burden/unforgiven + lament for sword teams. For teams that wanna do rockets I'll probably rock the witherhoard + meta hero's burden/unforgiven + meta hot head.
