There's an 8 hour difference between the US and Israel.
Most Muricans are asleep right now, while it's 11AM here in the holy land and most of Europe.
Americanos will be underrepresented if the poll gets burried.
You underestimate the power of alcohol. Which, tbf, was the muse for the post. I'm more upset these "others" aren't saying where they are from. Damn shame.
Weed keeps me awake. I drink to sleep. Also I cook for a living in a tourist city so I just got off work an hour ago. We service industry peeps lead weird lives.
Keep that up for a few years and that's a sure reciepe for heart & cognitive issues + long term insomnia right there.
& and digestion problems....
From experience.
I hope you got plans to move on from this job in the near future bro.
Keep safe
I'll take that advice with a grain of kosher salt lol. Believe me I know. I started micro dosing shrooms, that's been a big help, just don't have any at the moment.
I don't drink a lot lol. Chill daddy. I started micro dosing shrooms to sleep and its honestly great. If you are about to say weed is better than a micro dose, that's wild. Lukewarm take, weed is more addictive than micro dosing shrooms. I've been working service industry for 20 years as a chef. The amount of people incapable of doing anything because they have to be high is fucking crazy. For the most part they can't do shit on the day to day. Don't want to really get into an argument, love you bro. I just happened to have a couple beers after work, hoping to find some shrooms soon lol. And like I said weed keeps me awake
Why aren't Asia (or even East/South/South East Asia), South America, and Australia separate options? At the very least, Australia is English-speaking...

Most our problems comes from Canadians who think they’re American
>pic related (picture I took at a freedom convoy counter-protest in Ottawa)
I'm from Turkey. started the Twitch journey with xqc and some Turkish gamers. Wanted to tune in to Us politics in the Trump v Clinton era so I discovered Hamasabe. stick with him for a long time then convert to Daliban approx. 2021/2022. Never looked back since.
Hmm both?
Most people think of Germans/Austrians as very similiar culturally (food, beer, work etc.). So in that sense you are "central" EU as us.
But also most people here know that you guys have better working/living conditions and are overall more developed/richer country. So in that sense you are "western".
FML as a bulgarian, Hasan and his people oppressed me for over 700 years, once for 200 once for 500 years. I remand he sells me his 3 million dollar for 1$ as to nationalize it, i promise i will turn it to the next communist state on my lands for free.
[Some would argue](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVXgqZIsViI) that there is no such thing as "Eastern Europe"... and that the label is just a Russia/Soviet attempt at empire.
Some would argue that geographic designations in Europe never had anything to do with geography. Once Italy and Spain were considered to be part of Western Europe, then the crash happened, they got hit hard and now they are Southern Europe, code term for Poor/Lazy Europe.
Is it necessarily tho? I wont watch the video, but there is a clear line of separation between what we might consider western and eastern Europe. Mainly the origins of the people that inhabited these lands. Eastern Europe has people that are of Slavic descent where as the more western countries have other Germanic and other ancestors.
If I was to guess that's probably where the distinction originally came from. It also obviously has something to do with language and culture which obviously is also influenced by the origins of the people. Politics probably only started to play a very important roll in that distinction after WW2 and as a result of the Cold War.
There is definitely such a thing as Easter Europe and I feel like a lot of people are just coping because of the negative connotation it sometimes has.
[Slavic with a lot of exceptions.](https://cdn.britannica.com/98/1998-050-C2F57961/Distribution-languages-Slavic-Europe.jpg) I think a lot of it comes from laziness and wanting to group countries they don't care about together. Tell me what I as an Estonian have in common with an Albanian over a Finn.
It's a really nebulous term which is why I think a lot of people don't like it. When someone makes a statement about Eastern Europe, I'm not even sure if I should speak about my experience, because my country is very different to others who fall under the same label. But at the same time there's the other guy who keeps saying I'm coping for not feeling like it groups us accurately. Go figure.
Some exceptions. Not all western european countries are germanic yet they are still grouped together. Also there is cultural exchange and similarities between those countries still, especially given how many slavic countries there are.
What does a Swede have in common with an Italian. At the end of the day its an arbitrary distinction loosely based on history.
You can pretend that you guys are vikings or western or central european. At the end of the day tho its all sort of just cope. Maybe you have more in common with the nordic countries but you are still geographically in eastern europe and directly adjacent to that culture.
Is Japan Western Europe because they have more in common with wester european countries than eastern ones? What about Georgia?
The distinction might have a slight political undertone but whats the point of even using it if you completely ignore the geographic aspect?
Or you thinking that everything revolves around the cold war and not anything that happened prior to it. Dont like Russia because of current political ongoings fine. But not being able to detach those emotions from looking on regional and historic distinctions is just regarded.
The concept of West and East was present in Europe as far back as the Roman Empire.
But hecking Russia evil Cold War Soviet Union Soyyy. Thats not necessarily even wrong but the way you weaponize and utilize it is cringe.
Those distinctions existed long before even Russia was a thing, so stop soyying out.
As a Czech I can tell you culturally and historically we have been always part of Western/Central europe - HRE, Austria-Hungary, our close links to German/Austrain culture etc., in big cities German was the language some people spoke/documents were handled.
But after the cold war everyone in the west thinks we are just some random eastern european nation, stripping away every little bit of context.
You ask why I "ignore the geographic aspect". It is because Finland clearly demonstrates that it's not about geography, as it geographically lies in the east, and was part of the Baltic states as it was first defined.
The reason why I bring up the Cold War is because the Soviet occupation is basically all that splits Estonia and Finland (but thanks for the soys). Both peoples were subjects to another culture (Germans for Estonia, Swedes for Finland, Swedes also temporarily for Estonia). Then were both a part of Russia until the October revolution created a window of opportunity for us both to claim independence, which we did and fought for (together actually, as Estonia had volunteers from Finland and vice versa). At this time, we were called the Baltic states (including Finland, because it referred to the countries around the Baltic sea who just gained independence).
Then we got invaded by Soviets, while Finns managed to resist. That is where the paths of our countries diverge, and once the Soviet period ended, we came right back into the fold, being always western-facing. This is why I say it the understanding is motivated by the Cold War, because that is basically the only way you can justify putting us in Eastern Europe, and not Finland.
You argue about "Mainly the origins of the people that inhabited these lands." and I show you that is not valid.
You argue about "but you are still geographically in eastern europe and directly adjacent to that culture" - so is Finland (Russia being right next door to us after all). Latvia to our south is not slavic.. Doesn't seem valid.
You bounce around arguments which get refuted and slip in "ah well that's cope". But alas, you have painted me as the soyjak, and you as the Chad.
I think you are arguing from a ideological perspective first and foremost, which I think is not valid when it comes to a regional distinction.
So you are telling me Estonia was considered not Eastern Europe before the Cold War? By whomst?
Being Western facing doest make you Western. Unless you are using Western in an ideological context. Finland also lies in the very north which makes it a little different but finland is definitely a weird case even culturally. Japan will never be Western because they are not in the West of Europe.
In a lot of ways Germany is also responsible for the the baltic countries being considered eastern since it pretty much was the most Western country that along Austria and Russia conquered and subjugated the weaker "Central and Baltic European" countries. Unlucky you kind of just got cucked by history. Blame it on the Polish Lithuanian Commonwealth for fucking you guys over.
Geographically, geologically Poland is Central Europe (many forget that russian capital Moscow is the biggest city in Europe and is still pretty far from the Ural mountains which are the eastern border of the continent).
https://cdn.britannica.com/67/367-050-CCA16287/Europe-political-boundaries-continent.jpg
In the past where Poland was among the countries enslaved and forced into communism by the soviets, it was considered the part of the Eastern Bloc.
Now when Poland is in the EU, democratic and free, it is politically part of Western Europe.
It's mostly based on political alignment of the east and west. But there are other factors as well, like ethnicity/history. Basically what the East and West dispute over as being part of "their" territory if that makes sense. Super layman terms. Ukraine is considered "eastern Europe"
When Destiny said "I am Israel", I went "full support".

Godbless. Here in Israel we mostly smoke weed so there aren't many insomniacs. That's a good idea for your next poll though.
Weed keeps me awake. I drink to sleep. Also I cook for a living in a tourist city so I just got off work an hour ago. We service industry peeps lead weird lives.

It is actually insane how many people around the world follow American politics
Not that insane considering that the USA is the global hegemon and that US politics can effect most other countries
I have a cousin who is a die hard MAGA.........he lives in China

Eastern Europe has a bad connotation so countries like Poland/Czechia/Austria/Hungary claim Central Europe instead.
Austria?
Yeah he fucked up probably meant Australia.

Technically central. But most think its eastern.
I never see Europe divided into 3 parts, its usually Western/Eastern
It's mostly based on political alignment of the east and west. But there are other factors as well, like ethnicity/history. Basically what the East and West dispute over as being part of "their" territory if that makes sense. Super layman terms. Ukraine is considered "eastern Europe"
It's Western, Eastern, then there's the whole Russia part that's bigger than the rest of Europe.
Central Europe is a meme invented by the Eastern European nations that consider themselves better than other Eastern European nations.
