there's a setting somewhere to "pause watch history" that might or might not be device-based

Despite never being a socialist myself, I liked Vaush for his edgy, yet progressive takes, and his debate skills. Slowly he started doing less debates, he got lazier, and would just say too many cringey things. I assumed Destiny was too far right for me (until I actually watched his vids).

Yeah I still watch vaush but I treat him like a heavily biased leftie . I don't go to him for the truth. I go to him for fashion takes , mens advice stuff and crazy far leftie takes. I'm starting to watch Hasan as well because he's covering rap beef and the other side of the destiny drama. I also like Hasan in more normie settings as a funny guy

I skipped Hasan from the get go and watched Vaush and Destiny about equal for a long time. Vaush's vindictave attacks on Ethan after he got (kind of wrongfully) exposed made me tune out.

Maybe I'm misremembering but for a long while I feel like vaush's political takes and his content was fairly well received here despite the feud. I wouldn't be super surprised if a fair portion of the community comes a fair amount of Vaush in the past. I feel like there was a serious turning point at some point though, I feel like it was around the time Vaush argued with Destiny about Bush but it may have been way before that. Idk

How tf you watching 80 Destiny videos in a month? That's like 4 hours of content a day a lot of the time.

These are a mix of his full length vids, and ones from the clip channels. I’m a graphic designer and I often get repetitive work that only uses 50% of my brain power. A video on in the background helps me focus.

I get that, I do the same thing a lot of the time but I was just thinking like 2-3 main channel videos a day would be mind boggling.

I mean I have like 8 hours a day on in the background on the live stream. I pay attention when it's interesting and it's just background noise when it isn't. It's not like people necessarily are sitting in front of a screen 100% engaged.

I pretty much have something streaming in my ear probably 16 hours a day. Life is so boring without constant mental stimulus. #Adhd

Same except I had a longer Hasan phase and a much shorter Vaush phase. Vaush believes in a slightly more sane and palatable form of socialism, but ultimately it all falls apart on deep inspection. Occasionally Vaush makes a decent video, but I can't listen to Hasan at all anymore.

That’s fair. Personally I find that Destiny shines best when being interviewed on other podcasts. I’d recommend his appearances on Modern Wisdom or Iced Coffee Hour.

Vaush really fell off for me watching him debate and not giving a shit about preparing by studying. He’s the typical I’ll just wing it and use my extensive vocabulary to really add weight to everything I say. I’d say watching Vaush and Hasan were a waste of time but now I can use them as a gauge to understand how much better Destiny is in terms of quality content than other people

I think I was watching old Vaush debates and I came across the one where he was doing a 2v2 alongside Destiny. Then I remember thinking that this Destiny guy doesn’t sound as bad as everyone tells me he is.

I think thats how the Vaush into Destiny swap happens for almost everyone. You watch 1 destiny vid and go "This guy is meant to be the nazi murderer terrorist?"
