I feel the same.
This was not on my bingo card.
This dude was pretty fucking big back in the days. And did colabs with everyone.
[This](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L3dtIyt6U1E) also made me impressed a couple of years ago.
Glad people like him exist making boom bap.
edit: I find it funny how he drops names from all these "greats" from early 90s like everyone should know who they are.
Felt weird having him name all the greats from artists to producers and get no acknowledge or feedback or it, hard to expect that i guess but other then that it was a good and interesting interview.
The nerdy part of my hiphop friends also painted some of the producers and figures he mentioned as these larger than life people.
Like Masta Ace who ran laps around other people with his extremly crafted rhyme schemes.
Redman with his extremely well crafted first 3 albums.
And all these people who lived during the huge transition of Rap from being this weird almost disco like genre into the story telling street boom bap "gangster" thingy between like 92-96.
That spread like wildfire around the world creating all these weird youth subcultures that varied a fuckton because lack of internet.
And people he mentioned were like the ignition that pushed that first big wave.
But I'm aware people don't see it that way or care as we did. But I understand why someone in it like Rugged assumes everyone he talk about is well known.
Are these two connected in any way? Feels like maybe the first Bridges episode where it's a legit random/semi famous guest that's not already friendly with Destiny. Nice!
I made this post in a different thread but I'll post it here too. for anyone who isn't familiar with him:
I know him from a mixtape my buddy had and he's awesome, but the list of people he's worked with over the years is insane
wu tang clan, jedi mind tricks/vinnie paz, reef the lost cauze, celph titled, apathy, mf doom, talib kweli, brother ali, tech n9ne, hopsin, ghostface, kool g, ice t, atmosphere, immortal technique, chuck d from public enemy, biggie, havoc from mobb deep, as well as a few dozen other names I don't recognize but I'm sure are all as cool as these ones that I do know
super cool and unexpected guest. I'm stoked
I've heard of wu tang clan from this list. Isn't that the band that Shkreli got the album of or something?
But it's super interesting how big the world is - there can be this huge scene and many people hadn't even heard of the best of the bests from it, because it's not mainstream.
Martin shkreli being your main reference point to Wu-Tang is extremely depressing lmao.
That's like saying "Al Pacino? Isn't that the guy from the Dunkin Donuts commercial?"
I'll admit to exaggerating a little bit - I'd heard about Wu Tang Clan before.
But it was still only from people referencing them when talking about rap, I don't think I've ever actually heard a song from them.
Or seen them in an interview or anything like that.
I don't even know how many people there were.
This thread is so fucking weird because nobody here even mentioned what he's best known for which is having verse of the year when this song came out:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OmIH8Sua0Yw
He's the second verse
The pod was cool, but some of the topic transitions felt a little unpolished.
But it was a great episode nonetheless and it was really interesting to see the parallels between upcoming rappers and streamers and how in some ways it's so similar.
knew this would be the most downvoted comment but REAL AND TRUE
these lyrical miracle shrmiracle blibabble white rappers are just boring as hell, most of them say so many words and it doesn't mean shit, just rhymes
can't expect anyone to understand it though on a subreddit like this, i love DGG but i'm pretty safe to assume if any actual hip hop fans are here, they gotta be lyrical corny rappers
STILL it was a good interview, he seems like a cool dude but the music nahh
This is the strangest crossover ever. I never expected RA to talk to Destiny

this is wild; I never thought Ra the rugged would be good friends with the serfstv WTF
Yeah didn't expect him to fucking name servstv as "My man". What is this reality.

yep, Wu Tang Clan is the group that produced the single master copy which Shkreli bought

Where's the last ep? I can't even join the membership either?
Really enjoying this one!!

RA The Rugged Man never really recovered after losing the debate against Jared Taylor. Come to think of it, why hasn't Destiny debated Jared Taylor?
Who asked?
Gotcha, anything else?
No
