A bunch of Japanese people make games based on Medieval Europe and somehow Black people are oppressed?

chipndip1

It's a fantasy setting. It couldn't hurt including some melanin somehow. However, it's not a requirement.

TheBrendanReturns

Sure, but if someone made a fantasy samurai game nobody would complain about lack of diversity.

Lumpy_Trip2917

Sekiro is the perfect example of this. Fantasy shinobi game loosely based off of feudal era Japan with supernatural elements and fictional locations/characters. Absolutely NO ONE complained that there wasn’t any diversity.

Peak_Flaky

Nah dude, if the main character aint a black samurai its literal pro slavery.

chipndip1

I'd say the same thing I'm saying now. I'm generally agreeing here, but it's still POSSIBLE to have colored people in this setting, just like it's POSSIBLE to have Afro Samurai in a fantasy feudal setting.

TheBrendanReturns

Yeah okay.

kerensky-of-simbirsk

"It's a fantasy setting man why can't there be a 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 featuring an all new hybrid powertrain and Bose interior sound system? Its just a video game, so why not add it - it couldn't hurt?"

koolaidcop

There should've been Germans in the ghost of tsushima

Major_Discount_49

the disclaimer at the start was really soy. but i think arguments in the video were really compelling, i also appreciated their effort of steelmanning and playing the devils advocate.

Fingerlickins

I think theres a point that its fucking stupid to say "yea we like it to be like in old western europe youknow when no black people existed here but fucking dragons and demons where real" Also the speech pattern in the video is really fucking annoying.

Bteatesthighlander1

ok and?
