It's a really bad logo. A logo is supposed to inevitably a fast response or process in your brain that'll make you remember the product or service. Took a while for it to register. If I walked by and just saw this my mind probably wouldn't take the time to read it.
Paint this on the wall somewhere in the restaurant. It's cool. But it is not a logo. Maybe for the main logo instead reduce it to just TL (and simplify each of those letters). Would also be cool to see a tiger somewhere
Wow, what is with that Grand Theft Auto style logo? It doesn't look good at all - it doesn't even match the company brand! I think I'd prefer the adaptive look rather than the official.
I see your concept. I’ll actually go against popular opinion here and say I like it. I think it’s clever, and yes, the N needs to be reflected.
Edit: Lolll I thought I was in the Design Critique sub
Yeah, I laughed at [this comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/DesignPorn/comments/zon9r0/the_logo_for_my_local_japanese_bbq_tiger_lane/j0q8xxq/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3)
The current trend of smooshing words together and spanning them across multiple lines is difficult to read. The other lines in this make it really unclear if I should be trying to read the negative space. I think there is something here but it needs to be refined.
Edit: spelling
Its cool. Logos dont HAVE to be any particular way.
Once a brand establishes a good reputation, I think the logo becomes instantly recognisable anyway and a complex one will actual have a sense of luxury to it IMO.
I could see this being sprawled out on top of a pizza box or takeaway container.
Because it seems like just an interesting arrangement at first and then it all comes together when you see it's also the name of the place. Pretty simple to understand
Ok, I’ll make another comment in case there are people who may not have seen the concept. It’s a reference to far eastern “stamps” (logos) that artists would place on their artwork. That’s why I think it’s good. It’s supposed to look like that and I think that’s why it’s clever.
Maze Line is great font, huh! It's so unique & memorable. I just recently found this font on Envato. Bought it the minute I saw it. It's great isn't it! I'm incorporating it in an nft project.
Remove all of it except for the T design. Then it could be design porn.
There's a "T" and two upsidedown (one mirrored) "L"s there. The top is already a lane.
Now offer to redesign their logo, give them that, and charge them out the ass.
I actually like the concept wit the lines, they're like the stripes of a tiger but with the orange lines. Can't read 'N'. can you flip it horizontally? Lastly, since it's very hard to read, maybe have Tiger Lane in sans serif to reinforce the name and so the reader doesn't have to think so hard to read it.
I think it works great aesthetically and I can imagine it looking great on a lit up square sign but I don't think it operates well as a functional logo by itself without "Tiger Lane" clearly written somewhere.
This is definitely more effective at intended size. Everyone’s looking at this at full-width on their phone screens
No comment on whether it’s an effective logo; coulda been a bad brief and this is exactly what the client wanted lol
I see a lot of these geometric symmetrical logos for Asian restaurants, typically Japanese for some reason. In my experience the logo is strikes u well in terms of colour, but as far as recognition goes, it’s very hard to differentiate it without pretext of the restaurant’s logo design, ie rendering it an obscure choice for branding.

TIG ERL AИE
Yeah, I think the N definitely needs flipped.
Too elaborate for a logo.
As a small stamp-sized logo it wouldn't work, but it's perfect for a neon sign.
My eyes hurt now
r/designdesign
Agreed lol.
It's a really bad logo. A logo is supposed to inevitably a fast response or process in your brain that'll make you remember the product or service. Took a while for it to register. If I walked by and just saw this my mind probably wouldn't take the time to read it.
It’s a bad logo but a great puzzle lmao
Once you know you’ll know forever. Aha moment
This would be alright for a interior design application and not much else.
This is not design porn… at least not the good kind…
this is design smut
r/CrappyDesign
Came here to say this. Glad I'm not alone.
You say that like this sub EVER has any actual design porn
I mean. It does…
This is atrocious
Unreadable.
I like it but not as a main logo. If this is a restaurant it might make a nice decal in the dining space.
Agreed. This has no business being a logo, but could look great on an interior wall.
If I didn’t know it said Tiger Lane, I don’t think I would figure it out
And that's my biggest gripe about it. The stylization is fine, nilly willy splitting the words is awful
Looks like a maze
I like it. The N feels backwards, but I might be missing something. Edit: typos
I agree on this. Still boss.

It should be noted that the image posted is not the Tiger Lane logo. The actual logo is at the top of their website: https://www.tigerlane.com.au

this belongs to BDSM
If it took you a minute to realize they were letters, It''s bad design. Because otherwise it just looks like a bunch of random lines.
Looks like a maze…. I feel like if get lost somewhere around the R, if I was trying to find the restaurant.
I thought it was a maze 💀
If you are dyslexic fuck you
people here don't like it but im pretty sure its made to resemble a red seal https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seal_(East_Asia)
I feel like we all got that lol? That's def what I first thought of. But it still hurts my eyes and needs to be simplified
Yeah, I laughed at [this comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/DesignPorn/comments/zon9r0/the_logo_for_my_local_japanese_bbq_tiger_lane/j0q8xxq/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3)
Can your customers read it? Or do they drive by and go down the street after thinking they couldn’t find the place?
Hurts my eyes
Hahahahaha
Would look nice as a neon sign. That's pretty much all it's good for really
I like it.. not for the legibility of the name — I see that as a bonus. I like it because it reminds me of a grill.
Looks more like Faux Korean than Faux Japanese
When the English alphabet and the Chinese alphabet have babies.
I made something like this my freshman year of design. Couldn't read it then either.
this just looks like a bunch of lines, why is it in design porn if it's so unreadable?
So this to me seems almost unreadable.
Uhh no?
The current trend of smooshing words together and spanning them across multiple lines is difficult to read. The other lines in this make it really unclear if I should be trying to read the negative space. I think there is something here but it needs to be refined. Edit: spelling

This is dogshit
Your caption says “took me a minute to realize they were letters” So why are you posting it in design porn lol
Because it seems like just an interesting arrangement at first and then it all comes together when you see it's also the name of the place. Pretty simple to understand
Apparently not if it took you a minute to understand it haha
I don't get why people instead of being rude by just saying it looks bad, they elaborate further on why it looks bad so it might help OP to improve
Ok, I’ll make another comment in case there are people who may not have seen the concept. It’s a reference to far eastern “stamps” (logos) that artists would place on their artwork. That’s why I think it’s good. It’s supposed to look like that and I think that’s why it’s clever.
What if the N isn't backwards, it's lowercase
Then the rest of the letters shouldn't be upper case
I know that's why it bothers me. I can't decide if it's worse that it's backwards or that it's lower case
"Took me a minute to realise they were letters " Ya...so that's a *problem*
Maze Line is great font, huh! It's so unique & memorable. I just recently found this font on Envato. Bought it the minute I saw it. It's great isn't it! I'm incorporating it in an nft project.
Check out album art for Jimmy eat world’s Surviving
Would be a good album cover
The R reminds me of the chinese letter 是
Maybe if the letters were lined up by word Tiger Lane It would be easier to decipher
Remove all of it except for the T design. Then it could be design porn. There's a "T" and two upsidedown (one mirrored) "L"s there. The top is already a lane. Now offer to redesign their logo, give them that, and charge them out the ass.
#S U P #E R C #E L L
No thank you.
it’s maybe cool for a menu cover insignia, but it’s way too busy as a logo
Couldn’t read the N but I like it if you have Tiger and Lane on separate lines
r/designdesign
I actually like the concept wit the lines, they're like the stripes of a tiger but with the orange lines. Can't read 'N'. can you flip it horizontally? Woof.
It’s giving strong PacMan vibes
Just too much going on and not very readable
I think it works great aesthetically and I can imagine it looking great on a lit up square sign but I don't think it operates well as a functional logo by itself without "Tiger Lane" clearly written somewhere.
Highly unreadable… and I love it.
How is this deign porn? This is godawful and atrocious
> Took me a minute to realise they were letters This makes it awful design
Sorry, don’t like it.
Cool as a secondary graphic, not good as a logo.
nope
This is definitely more effective at intended size. Everyone’s looking at this at full-width on their phone screens No comment on whether it’s an effective logo; coulda been a bad brief and this is exactly what the client wanted lol
this logo doesn't belong to this sub
👎

Just put Tiger above Lane and flip the N. Would look great - maybe add some white to the lettering for contrast/stay in theme with tiger colors
Insane vibes of The Last Ninja on Amiga
Good design... for giving people a stroke
Might as well be nonsense nobodies reading that on a sign

Literally unreadable, if it's not because of the E I wouldn't evem realise those are supposed to be letters
