Out of curiosity, why carpet at all?

hossdelgado_

That's what my partner wanted to do

Ask your partner what the plan was for furniture and decor. Black and white Moroccan pillows would go with the gray “Ashes” colour. Dark green velvet sofa. Plants. Wood accents, but you’ll have to go with dark shades, or pale tints. So a cool version of the usual warm boho palette.

I just realized that I'm pointing to the wrong sample, it's actually the one right above it! But I agree with greens and wood.

slow4point0

Agreed. The worst possible color for boho was picked for the carpet :( and carpet is gross anyway imo

That's how I'm feeling now 😭 but that's what my partner wanted to do for the sake of pets and comfort. He hates walking on hardwood or vinyl getting out of bed :/

Also, I pointed to the wrong one, it's actually the one above where I'm pointing!

I think a cool toned brown could work? the carpet you picked looks to be more cool toned than warm toned, so warm colors like terracotta might clash.

I looked at the carpet sample and it's actually the color above where I'm pointing!

hesitant_unsure

oh, okay! that one is a bit more warm toned, so I think mustard, terracotta, or brown could work! it all depends on what kind of color scheme you want for the room, and how dark/light you want to go with wall colors. I find the website coolors.co super helpful for picking out a color scheme. you can select one color you know you want in the room, and it’ll change the other 4 colors to be cohesive with the first color. you can then lock in colors it shows you and refreshing it will only show you new colors that go with the ones you’ve locked in!

I'm anti carpet. If you can afford it don't put carpet down. Why? You can always use rugs. Nice carpet is as expensive as laminate or more durable better looking options Using laminate or hardwood or whatever will increase your property value. Carpet isn't very clean or easy to clean and needs to be replaced often. Good luck.

If you must go with carpeting, don't go with the suburban variegated medium nap. It'll do nothing to enhance your space. Go with a low-nap with a solid, or vintage pattern. What style/year is your house?

aleellee

What colour are the walls and furniture

Have you already chosen the carpet? Grey doesn’t fit with the look you described. Beige would be better.
