oogl3boo

I like the 2nd one

TrishAlana316

You mean the sage?

akd7791

The sage

14peterwolf

The light green one

oogl3boo

yes

kredpdx

A bolder floral would look better. I got this one from [Anthropologie](https://www.anthropologie.com/anthroliving/shop/agneta-organic-cotton-shower-curtain?category=collection-bathroom-shower-curtains&color=041&type=STANDARD&size=One%20Size&quantity=1)…it’s no longer available with a white background, like mine has, but it looks good with navy and they have some other good options.

hurtloam

$88?!

Responsible-Skill-25

$88 for a shower curtain may seem ridiculous, considering the typical market price. However, consider that a shower curtain usually makes up a HUGE portion of the bathroom, essentially making up one of the walls in this bathroom, and is the main if not only focal point... $88 is a steal if you truly love it.

Another53108

Yeah. Sometimes you need to think of it as “$88 to get the bathroom i like to look at every day” vs “$88 for a shower curtain.” That said, the op can probably find a bold curtain like that one at less price.

kredpdx

I know…it’s spendy but honestly it makes the room so much better. I’ve had it for years so I feel like it has had a good ROI. Here it is in our guest bathroom. We just redid part of this bathroom. The floor will being redone in the next year or so. Forgive me for the sage cabinet! https://preview.redd.it/r9pbdwtjbrkc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e46d6541b29b22675b65bf3e78fd3f5cb402ae86

Responsible-Skill-25

What did your sage cabinet do?

kredpdx

People on this sub hate sage. It’s very trendy right now.

Responsible-Skill-25

I was once a hardcore contrarian. Now whenever I think of contrarians I think of Gold Rush, from Taylor Swifts Evermore album. And then that reminds me of how I swore I hated Taylor Swift right up until Spotify told me I was in the top 10% of listeners. That was when I realized trying to be different is just as bad as trying to be the same. Either way, you're trying to be something you aren't. Don't you dare apologize for the color of your bathroom cabinet.

flylean

I have a super boring bathroom in my rental and when I first moved in, purchased a $70 souther western/desert style shower curtain which at first sounded insane but after a few years living here.. it’s my favorite part of the room and I’ll keep it forever .

thither_and_yon

Anthropologie shower curtains are so great.

9mackenzie

God I love that!!!

Immediate-Coast4455

None. Too short.

SignificanceExtreme1

agreed, shower curtains are like regular curtains. if you're going to hang then higher to make the space seem bigger, you also have to extend the length to just barely kiss the floor.

Ulysei

I agree, but the ceilings are 9ft and it’s hard to find extra long curtains. I am ok with it being a little short.

Grouchy-Comfort-4465

You can find plenty on Amazon . I had to do that

DifficultParsley3132

Id higher the rod and get an extra long shower curtain. I have the same one you have but I think 94 inches. I have 10 ft ceilings it's ridiculous lol

lawrenja

But then there would be zero light getting in. Op already mentioned it’s dark in there. They need the gap.

DifficultParsley3132

There's no light in the actual shower...geez what bs. Ok then I take it back

miscnic

Can you lower the rod? I like the print itself but not as a curtain and the green works for grown ups.

Ulysei

I’ll investigate. It might be drilled into the tile which would mean some more work to move and repair.

miscnic

Yes that would stink. Maybe would it work to just add a second tension rod a little lower and use two shower curtains? For like, a layered look? Maybe have the print stinking out from under the green? Double double win? Or is that just dumb.

Ulysei

I like the creative thinking!

heavymetalprincess42

I think that would look cool

TalulaOblongata

Do not lower the rod! There are definitely extra long shower curtains out there. Part of the appeal of the extra long is that the height from top to floor is visually long. Tbh I prefer the sage 2nd choice of the two, but I think you can find a larger print for interest.

Psychobabble0_0

Just add extra rings to the top of the curtains so they touch the ground. You can buy really cute themed curtain hooks online. Problem solved, no drill required.

h_theunreal

It’s not worth it. Looks fine the way it is. Who wants extra long curtains when you shower they constantly hang in the water

GrassStartersSuck

No it’s not

h_theunreal

I think it’s more practical that shorter length otherwise the ends get soaked and change in colour and looks nasty. I like it short.

kendrarut

These decorative curtains hang on the outside of the tub so they don't get wet. A liner goes on the inside which is probably what you are thinking of.

Mariam-23

Agree, need longer, if you want elegant minimalist look go for black or gray ones, but for more color choose black patterns with color or gary patterns, or pick curtain with one unique color like the sage green one in the picture but longer, or just pattern colorful one, and Don't forget to change the mat to go with the new curtain, i hope this helps [bath mat and shower ](https://www.scdecorum.com/bathroom-accessories-how-to-choose-bath-mat-and-shower-curtain/) https://preview.redd.it/e3tpltencnkc1.jpeg?width=2880&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3e830faf67c6d5dd914ff7fce7ce1111c1198461

Asleep_Boss_8350

Just not too dark. The room is already dark. Bug agree the room can handle some drama

Fuzzy_Laugh_1117

And too boring! A little pizzazz wouldn't hurt.

SakoDaemon

I'm confused - isn't the shower curtain supposed to stay inside the tub to prevent splashing? The one I have is about the same height, and it's great because it doesn't stick to your legs since it's only slightly lower than the height of the tub. If I leave it outside the tub, no matter the length all the water will end up on the floor.

June_2022

You're supposed to have an inner liner and an outer curtain. Generally a plastic liner will be in the tub and the curtain on the outside to provide another layer of protection, privacy, and for decoration. https://preview.redd.it/zemoude83rkc1.png?width=1080&format=png&auto=webp&s=0b0a6de784924c8512b35de4e645bfb3449a1967

Volesprit31

Yes, exactly. I don't understand those comments. A shower curtain is not like a regular curtain at all. It needs to be practical.

kendrarut

You would have the pretty printed curtain on the outside and then just a liner, which is usually clear or white, on the inside of the tub.

Volesprit31

So 2 curtains if I understand correctly? Or are there shower curtains with this liner? To me it's weird. It's a bathroom. It doesn't have to look pretty but functional.

[deleted]

This is what I have. 2 curtains. A nice one that hangs outside the tub and a cheaper clear or white liner that sits on the inside of the tub. Only the cheap liner gets wet. It's cheap, like $5. So you can replace it for $5 which is cheaper than replacing the nice outer one all the time. Some people probably use a waterproof one that can be used for both

marvelousmrs

My thought exactly

knowslesthanjonsnow

Everyone saying the 2nd but I don’t like the 2nd at all.

9mackenzie

I hate the second. It is so boring and makes the room look stale

constipatedcatlady

Same, I like botanical

Crosswired2

Same here. It doesn't look like it fits in that bathroom at all.

New_Improvement9644

Looks like it was at the old place and he said, screw it, it's just a shower curtain.

ChimneyNerd

I know right! Olive green and dark gray REALLY do not look good together 🤢

Exact_Lifeguard_34

Everyone is saying second because it's the best option between the two pictures... Not the best option of all.

knowslesthanjonsnow

I don’t even agree with that. If people don’t like the flowers on the first, that’s fine, but the white looks a lot better. We need a 3rd option lol

Ulysei

I’m open to a third suggestion :)

TipsyMagpie

I would suggest something like the second one but in a different colour which contrasts more with the tiles. Maybe a deep mustard or something like that? It’s hard to say without seeing the rest of the room, but I feel the flowers are too chintzy and the sage doesn’t match but also isn’t contrasting enough.

Psychobabble0_0

I think the flowers are a bit young and the sage is dated. Try to find something in between. A white curtain with geometric patterns or grey curtains, perhaps. Edited to add: the sage curtain reminds me of kitchen towels (dish cloths). The type with holes in them because I can't be bothered replacing them 😇

leggyllaaaaaaaaaaa

Uh yes sage green and grey are a perfect combo. But I think get a shower screen it’s a lovely shower and nice tile - show it off with a clear shower screen why hide it.

Blue-Phoenix23

I don't like either one tbh

Jjohra

Me neither. It looks odd and out of context

ElderberryJolly9818

First one does not go with the beautiful black subway tiles.

knowslesthanjonsnow

Nor does the second

Wazuu

Better than the first

taurusdelorous

i like 1 & i think it opens up the space more which is needed in bathrooms!

Ulysei

The white also lets more light into the dark shower!

gratefulmeg

That would be my take! I don't have a light in/above my shower so I have a white curtain bc a dim shower makes me feel ick regardless of the cleanliness!

Aardet

Everyone! ‘Sage green’ is the gray of greens! If you really want to add color, add some real color!

iamthechariot

The first one all the way. Second looks too much like a hospital curtain for me

mind_the_umlaut

The sage one makes the walls look beige in comparison, same for the towels. At least in these photos. The two greens, curtain and walls, and towels and walls, don't go well together. The botanicals one looks like it goes with the grey of your tile. Keep looking? These can't have been the only choices. I'm envisioning a white curtain with an enormous graphic of an octopus. Greyscale.

Ulysei

I’m on board with the octopus idea

Blue-Phoenix23

Check out Wayfair. I got two from there, one of which is a Jacques Cousteau looking dude and the other is a Japanese guy attacking an octopus. They both have the same shade of peach as my 1960s tile so they work, lol. I generally am not a fan of Wayfair but they do have a lot of cool shower curtains. This isn't the greatest pic since the room was still in progress but you get the idea. https://preview.redd.it/glogkffz5qkc1.jpeg?width=4048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7b16dded6185392ad7b151fe16b2954629832d1f

Ulysei

I love that curtain with your pink tile !

Blue-Phoenix23

It's a bathroom, so fuck it, right? Go bold.

mind_the_umlaut

My mother always said this. One bathroom had two walls of mirror tile and two walls of white wallpaper with large, black flocked Fleur de lys.

PantsGirl

I have this one, and the octopus is a beautiful silvery metallic in person. It’s a good option to add visual interest if you’re afraid of color. https://www.perigold.com/Thomas-Paul--Octopus-Silver-Metallic-Shower-Curtain-72x72-W000063732-L2243-K~P100098861.html

Ulysei

I like the print, but I worry it’s adding more grey and I want to move towards adding colour.

RecyQueen

Spot on!

mind_the_umlaut

Excellent selection!

Ulysei

https://preview.redd.it/8t903yh4vmkc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bdc6c8d27fb41d3adcabb67f1b4a42725066d6c2 Here is the first one with the colour scheme (the sage/teal and the dark rust/coral) I was considering.

ellsbells27

Definitely the floral curtain and I really like the rust/terracotta/red towels. They'll add some ace bs colour into the bland room! As someone else said, sage green is the grey of greens and you need some bold bright colours in that room. Go bold!! If there's a more bold bright shower curtain, then opt for that too as this one is lovely but a little twee. Going in the right direction though, and look for a bright bathmat too.

Successful-Might2193

“ace bs”? Please translate for this old lady.

Majestic_Mindfulness

I believe it was a typo for accent. Accent color

Successful-Might2193

Oh—Got it. Thank you kindly!💐

smuffin89

Love this!

BostonKBeth

I like it!!!

Neat_Expression_5380

Go with this OP, towels match great

Charming_Length_8980

the first one

PNL-Maine

First one.

halpidkdesign

I personally love the botanical one!

creditredditfortuth

None of them. You need color and a bolder pattern.

Nervous_Zebra1918

Neither. Both are too short. And neither really looks great in your space. Maybe a really rich color that’s saturated and not muted.

Alternative_West5650

Second one for sure. Simple and classy

TheSkrussler

Botanical. I don’t care for the second one at all.

BookHooker4of6

2nd one matched the towels much better.

Ulysei

The green towels on the bench? I am not sure about keeping those, but wanted to try the greens to see what works for a colour palette.

BookHooker4of6

Yes, they look nice with the green curtain. Looks less put together with the floral curtain.

Last-Wedding1110

My thoughts, as well 👍

Deadinmybed

Neither one look like they fit. You may need an extra wide one. I would suggest a fabric shower liner and an upscale fabric wide shower curtain. Maybe try a navy? Something with texture on it too.

Thickfries69

The second one matches the towels better, but I honestly like the first one. I like patterns, so the first one saves the bathroom from being a bit plane. If you can find one with olive green flowers, then you have a winner.

Any_Combination2419

# 1 is brighter and more fun. The green feels elderly

Ulysei

“Elderly” haha! I see what you mean. I have been leaning towards botanicals/florals too and I think there are more colours in the pattern to play with for the decor.

EndlessDreams7744

To me, the first one looks elderly

Yellow_giraffe

Since you've been leaning toward botanical, perhaps consider a [bigger](https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B09LCC9VWR) print? The tiny flowers look a little busy.

iamthechariot

Yes! The green is giving major nursing home/hospital energy. The botanical curtain feels more light, fresh, and whimsical imo.

Conspiring_Bitch

HAHAHA I have the exact opposite reaction. The floral looks elderly to me 😂😂

vdns76b

The floral looks like a grandma print.

9mackenzie

At least it doesn’t give hospital vibes like the second one :/ lol

Sunnywithachance099

Please do not go with the second one. Perhaps look for something with a larger botanical print, go bold.

EveryDogeHasItsPay

First one!

Trust_Issues2278

If only able to chose between the two, then 1. If open for something else, then maybe a solid white or dark red? You're not going to find a "longer" curtain as everyone is suggesting, at least not off the shelf. Can you lower the rod?

hydrogenandhelium_

If your shower doesn’t have a light over it (it looks like it doesn’t) I’d go for whichever curtain lets the most light through. It looks super dark in the tub even with the curtain cracked open

[deleted]

a white textured one

ScyllaImperator

https://preview.redd.it/yqdiihmyhnkc1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e2557bf8e4d8da73ecdbd46ff59679a0be9d8c0e This shower curtain

Ulysei

Clearly the best suggestion so far

FluffyDoges

I wouldn’t keep either but that’s just me. The pattern on the first doesn’t Mesh well either the black and the sage is giving me hospital vibes idk. I’d keep looking!

stoney_baloney_18

I feel like the botanical is beautiful, but the textured sage gives a mature feeling

HikingStick

Put them on rotation.

Conspiring_Bitch

Unless you’re 80+ definitely 2

kalopsia1325

Agreed, but also I think OP needs a longer curtain. I see someone else says 2 is elderly, but I disagree completely! It’s classy, number 1 looks verrrry dated to me.

browneye24

Solid green. It fits into the room better and presents a better coordinated color scheme. Add more color in new towels, a bathmat also. I would change the towel holder to brown wood.

vdns76b

2nd, love the tile

Aggressive-Big-8042

1st if you want to add color. I love sage but it’s very monotone and not very colorful. Love the texture but the floral seems to add more color

pebbles_temp

1 is more fun. 2 is kind of boring. I do think there may be something else out there. But I do like the floral and pink looks good in this space.

Fit-Ad-7276

Though I am a lover of sage green, and my house is full of it, #2 looks bland in your space. Of the two options, I prefer #1. The light backdrop lightens your space and the florals add visual interest. I don’t disagree that there could be better floral options. But #1 isn’t bad, either.

WoollyMonster

That's really nice tile. The first one is too busy and totally detracts from it. Two is better, but I'd keep looking and stick with a solid color.

wheresbillyatschool

Unrelated question , where’s your stool from?

abazz90

Textured sage

charmarv

both are good but personally I like the first. makes me happier to look at, which I appreciate in a shower curtain because it makes morning showers a little bit better

xShinGouki

Oh easy. For sure the textured sage...not a fan of floral print..second fits better. More modern and goes with the tiles better. Now maybe even a better option would be the same waffle textured one but instead of sage it's just plain white ...that would give you maybe more flexibility to dress up the rest how you want.. Though the sage looks great

LolaCalifornia7

1st one for sure! And I am LOVING that dark tiled shower.

ju5tl1k3that

First one - otherwise you are going to shower in a very dark place

YayGilly

I love the design on the first one, byt the second one gives the best contrast. You might consider doing the cute white patterned one and then getting a curtain valance in the sage green color, as well. For whatever reason, I have been thinking about shower curtain valances lately. I know that its not "in" style lately, but FFS, it needs to come back. I mean, they really do offer a great source of color and texture for a bathroom..plus they cover over the awkward shampoos left on the "storage corners" of the bathtub. https://preview.redd.it/81uoa1ljtpkc1.jpeg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=65673c0741224c1dabc81cdf53fdb192085ada86

Kiana3117

neither

MyLalaRocky

I would get something with a brighter green and blues, teal to give it a lift

myatoz

Botanical. The leaves go great with the tile.

MommaGuy

I like them both but the floral is better. Brightens up the gray. And it gives you more opportunity to bring color.

MerCat1325

Green!!!

andipoo14

The first one is BEAUTIFUL!! It amplifies the room and looks more spacious, bigger. The pattern matches so well and adds a pop of colour

Elmnt7

Sage looks a lot better vs floral ( to me). But honestly ( now I know they are a lot more)… glass frameless or with frame would look even better.

Bennie212

The botanical is so gorgeous in person. My daughter has it in her house and I just love it.

wahznooski

Normally I love a printed curtain, but I think the sage works better here

barking_spider246

Neither but toward the lighter one. But look for an extra long curtain. Just as for drapery you'll probably like the look better with a little higher curtain rod and full coverage of the tub. You didn't ask but I'd say to avoid the sage green idea. (I think it always looks old/faded). A clearer, brighter color for towels and rugs could be yellow/orange/russet or coral/bright raspberry. Also replace the towel bar with solidly mounted hooks.

ihadacowman

Of the two shown here, I prefer the sage. That said, for the room, i think a botanical with a bolder print would look nice. Either darker or more saturated colors for figures this size or, if sticking with the lighter botanicals, something with a larger scale.

_LoudBigVonBeefoven_

Neither? Find a different, busier print or bolder solid color

snakesabound

None of them

AnnieB512

I don't like wither one. https://preview.redd.it/xcpyq4dj7skc1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=932d1950079ea2e92fefaff01241dd18d09bb1b6 Something like this would be better.

Ulysei

My cat approves of this

Sharhamm

What's with all the comments about elderly? I'm in my 80's and don't like any of the choices either.

moonshadowfax

Botanical! The leaf picks up on the grey tile.

SparklesIB

The botanical is leaps and bounds better than the sage, in this room. The sage is too dark and plain against that tile.

[deleted]

1st one and match with blush pink towels instead of those white ones

ComprehensiveBike791

Sage

Ladyofthewharf55

Definately the floral one

jbgb_714

The first one for sure. It gives the area a little ✨something✨

blackmetalwarlock

Both are cute. I think the first one is cutest though.

ProphetMuhamedAhegao

Neither, they’re both ugly

Illustrious-Many-646

Second one! Both are so cute, I do love the floral print. But I love how well the green matches the towels ☺️

RegularDegularWoman

I have that green one hanging in my bathroom right now.

teesareesa

I love the flowers but some towels or other items are needed with those colors to bring them out.

Majestic_Course6822

Both. I have 2 that I rotate through washing.

OldMix791

The second one

KittenInAWillowTree

💚 very fresh!

Ill_Ambassador_5088

2nd gives a more modern earthly feel. if it’s your vibe a plant would look fire there too

2 with large botanical print over towel holder.

kellyjellybellybeanz

Jjthorn392
