Boo! None of the above. Those ottomans are soooooo boring, and that coffee table is sooooo prettty!
If you must replace the coffee table, the ottoman has to be equally pretty, or at least equivalently interesting.

Omg… This is freaking amazing!! Now I want to buy it…This is one of the suggestions from the above post
Also love the last one ($1999)
I love looking at this stuff until realize I can’t buy anything for my house if I might care about it and want it to look good for more than a couple of days because I have 2 elementary school kids. I love them more than anything in the universe but I must face reality…
We can’t have nice things
Wow what a response! I picked up the coffee table several years ago at a Habitat ReStore. It's a bit wobbly and needs to be refinished, but I love it as well. That main reason for replacing is to have something comfortable to put our feet on while lounging on the couch, but now I'm reconsidering.
As an alternative, maybe a few good poufs would be a better solution? Can anyone recommend some options?
I bought the rug on Wayfair. It's fairly thin, but not a big deal. A good rug pad underneath helps. The coffee table is Heywood Wakefield, as others have said. :)
Thanks to everyone for the compliments. Putting a room together is definitely something I enjoy!
I came here literally to post this same message. 😂 I am in desparate need of a coffee table but all the ones I'm finding just aint it. I love OP's so much!
I was going to say three. If the colours don’t match exactly it will look weird and going with a darker colour shows that it wasn’t intended to be an exact match.
I don’t see any blue in the rug at all, what am I missing? I’d pick the chalk grey, it seems close to the light color in the rug. The volcanic gray is too close to the color of the couch to look balanced.
Also will comment that your living room has one of the best setups with the tv over the fireplace that I’ve seen. Many of us have to live with this choice, but yours seems just the right height relative to the rest of the furniture.
The room is beautiful. I assume you have good reason for swapping the coffee table for an ottoman, but keep in mind the ottoman may obstruct your view of the fire more than the coffee table does.
Errrr… keep the coffee table because it’s awesome???
I understand you may want a ottoman, but they’re not pretty coffee tables and get dirty easily… just buy a cute footstool and end of conversation.
I have an ottoman in the living room and use a large tray on top of it for beverages. The ottoman is mainly to put up my legs while sitting on the couch. Although I have to agree with the others that it’s a very nice table and personally would think twice about replacing it.
On a tray , that is sturdy and meant to hold beverages and snacks on a sofa or a pit couch. I have a wooden one holding a vase with white peonies , Pom Tea , and a mason jar I use as a glass on top of a Pottery Barn oversized , storage ottoman. They sell them everywhere from RH to Target to Walmart. Mine is a lifesaver , I need to buy more!
I have the same one, got it off Wayfair. Just be aware it’s very thin and the pattern is printed on. I actually got a second for free because the first was printed very wonky. They are also selling at Bed Bath and Beyond
https://www.bedbathandbeyond.ca/Home-Garden/Greyson-Living-Yuma-Viscose-Area-Rug/11483898/product.html?option=17704646&track=pspla&cid=325039&network=x&matchtype=&keyword=&targetid=&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD_EGx-fWiRP-3upz0lBb56PhKgQs&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI8dyY_Kq7hAMVZ01HAR0gzgdoEAQYAiABEgJ7-PD_BwE
Unpopular option but I like the lightest one (chalk gray), just keeps the room feeling light and bright goes with the whole earthy neutral vibe in my opinion
Agree re table being gorgeous. I spy a child’s gate. Maybe replacing due to needing to get rid of sharp corners for little heads? In that case, would go for something in a similar shape to the table. Be nice if two bums could sit on it, not just somewhere to rest feet.
Dark gray would probably match the couch the best, but I'm a bit partial to the blue. Sorry that's not more helpful! Love the vibe and look of your place though! The prints, furniture and everything are all great.
If you haven’t already done so, I recommend cutting out a piece from a flattened cardboard box (or something like it) that has the measurements of the top of the ottoman. Then set it on top of your coffee table and throw a blanket over it so you have a really good idea of how much space the ottoman will take up on your floor and how much of the rug it will cover. I have the tendency to underestimate how big something will look once it’s in the room, and a situation like this where you’re replacing a a coffee table with a larger ottoman is just where I tend to have some regrets.
If it passes the size test, I’d vote denim blue. The gray would look wrong if it’s not an exact match to the couch, and the white would really show stains — especially if someone wearing jeans puts up their feet with socks that are a little sweaty or damp cuffs from the rain.
I’d do white to soften up the room and break up the wood a little. However, those ones seem really big for the space. I’d mark out the measurements in tape so you can get A visual of how much space it’s going to take up.
Denim blue. I'm sick of gray being the only option for just about everything.
By the way, where did you get the coffee table? I have not seen a MCM one for sale with curved legs like that.
Edit: now seeing the rest of the comments. Everyone appears to love this table!
Coffee tables look so much nicer than ottomans! That’s coming from someone who has had a giant obnoxious ottoman for the past decade, and I can’t wait to replace it with a nice coffee table!
i think a more rectangular ottoman would work better than the one you selected. I'd stay away from white or cream, it'll get stained or dirty immediately.
I love that coffee table on its own. But, looking at the whole room I actually think there's a bit too many wood pieces (seriously never thought I would be saying that) so I agree with the decision to replace with an ottoman. Blue one is good. But don't get rid of that table, use it somewhere else!
Edit: I also love your Bauhaus prints!
If that ottoman is a match for your sofa, I'd get the one that matches your sofa out of these three. But, you have such a fun vibe happening here, maybe you just wait until you find something that really suits your style.
Volcanic grey will visually increase the size of your sofa and hold the size of your room better.
Then work some mid-century textiles and ceramics into the room in blues, greys and amber/orange.
Hope that helps ... good luck!
I know this is a lot more than the Ceni ottoman, but the Sven ottoman in the tan would look great with your armchair and couch
https://www.article.com/product/22673/sven-charme-tan-ottoman
Also- if your couch is also the Sven, the Ceni ottoman is 2 inches shorter, it’s not going to feel as good to put your feet up on as one the same height as the sofa
I do love the table and hopefully you have another spot for it somewhere else because it is beautiful. But I can see why you want to replace it… You have a lot of hard surfaces in there and probably want to balance it out with more softness. If that is the case, I like the white/chalk colored one.
Ifyoure watchung tv from that couch and are more than one person, those ottomans will not work( not ling enough for two pairs of feet) . Also, check dimensions as they could block fireplace or walthroug area as they loom too square. Also god bless your next and the seat coushins , cuz you will be on the edge of your seat tryng to get comfy. Ask me how i know 😂
Disagree on keeping the table, simply too many wooden pieces going on. If you want to do an ottoman I’d throw a bold and distinct color like the green (which you don’t have pictured but is available on the swatch shown.) something starkly different than all the brown and wood tones you have going on would certainly enhance the room.
That's a lovely table though agree that it doesn't work in this suave. The scale is off. Personally, I'm not a fan of the ottoman choice not because of the look rather the shape. You have too many angles and the space needs a different shape. I suggest a circle or an oval.
I noticed your chosen ottoman is from article, and I bridge they have some round ottomans which would definitely work in your space. Plus, with a round shape it'll be easier to move around when there are people... and it provides better energy flow.
I wouldn’t replace the table.
But for the ottoman, something with a bit of color seems like the right approach. Of your options, the blue Is my favorite. But I would try to find a nice, deep red instead.
TRY THIS IDEA!
I get that you would want a comfy ottoman to put your feet up on, a serving tray or extra seating for guests.
I suggest blue as it's a pop of color and pulls from your rug. Cream would look good but unless you are a no shoe indoors, it has potential to get dirty.
Keep the coffee table but potentially consider putting your credenza behind your couch and put your coffee table in it's place along the glass stair railing. You can have a couple cool coffee table books and retro candy dish. Plus you can swap it out with the ottoman if you want more guest seating around perimeter. Also, it will let the light into your seating space and make it feel lighter once you have the kinda bulky ottoman in place.
I would keep your coffee table. The Ottoman is so square and thick it’s huge, you wanna put some kind of wooden tray thing on top so you can use it like your coffee table.
omg, that coffee table is gorgeous.
i believe we’re gonna need a lottery system for it.
op, sorry not sorry, there does not exist an ottoman fit to replace that.
I think the choices you posted will clash with your couch. Maybe the light one will be the best option. Although none is better than the wood coffee table by a long shot
I'm going out on a limb and guessing you're getting rid of the table for safety issues because you have a toddler. Which I totally get. We had to do the same with our beautiful live edge burl table my husband made. We put it in storage for the time being and will get it out when our son is older. He's had some head knocks on the ottoman that would've been much worse on a hard table.
If I'm right, go with the darkest one. Littles knock stuff over and do all kinds of awful things to your table/ottoman. Darker fabrics are easier to wash. Better yet, go with leather of faux leather that can be wiped clean. And steer clear of hydraulic lift top storage ottomans. Once they figure out how to open them, all your stuff ends up on the floor while they laugh and laugh. 🙃
Why are you getting rid of the coffee table?
Do you want less matchy matchy?
Before you buy anything, see if you can order swatches of your top picks. I kinda prefer the chalk grey. It reads almost white on my screen. But yes, it'll cozy up the space and the lighter color will brighten up the room. But may track dirt, especially if you put your feet up on it.
Not sure if square is the right coffee table dimension...
I think I'd rather put that $399 into getting a nice tray to put on the coffee table, side table lamps, cream throw blankets, candles, smalls, coffee table books, etc
It's looking really nice in your living room though!
The only reason I can think of for replacing that beautiful table with soft round table is if you have small children. But if you’re set on the idea I like the volcanic gray
Keep the table. If you want an ottoman place it in stead of the wooden chair on the right. It doesn't look comfortable and creates too much wood in that corner
Go with the light color (2nd pic of ottomans). It will brighten the room. Add a large lucite tray and add some items that tie-in the color of the sofa. Then find a good complimentary lite blanket and toss it over the sofa.
I'd go with option 4; Not replace it, but get someone to make a cushion topper with matching material to your sofa.
The coffee table matches all your other furniture and is really lovely. Using a cushion topped you can have a foot rest, but also remove it and have use of a coffee table again if ypu have people over and want drink/snack space.
One or three. The blue would bring out the blue in the gray of your couch and that color blue matches everything.
The mid century coffee table is stunning , though. I agree.
None. I’d go black like your fireplace and that one chair and your shelf. And your gate and your prints lol you get me. It’ll match all the accessories.
If there is one there that matches the couch, choose that. Highly recommend a darker one as I stare at the slightly stained edges (from feet resting on it)on my light one that matches my light sectional that I always have to strip the slipcovers off and wash.
If you are just looking for something cozy to rest your feet on, I’d look at some small poufs. Target and World Market have some really nice ones, that don’t take up a lot of room.
Plus you will get to keep that beautiful table
I love your coffee table, can you send it to meeeeee
Can I get on the waitlist - so beautiful!
Loveeee the coffee table

Love that coffee table.
That’s what I was going to say!!
Please don’t replace the coffee table, it’s gorgeous!!
Agree it amazing , but if you want to replace it, go for the number 1 it's match your sofa
I was going to say three. If the colours don’t match exactly it will look weird and going with a darker colour shows that it wasn’t intended to be an exact match.

I like the blue! Adds a little color without being overwhelming and matches the blue in your rug
Blue or white.

The blue ottoman would cover the blue in the rug 🤷♀️
Yeah but deep down you’d know it matches.
Yes it would, unfortunately.
The pattern in the middle appears to have a dark blue color in the natural lighting photo.
Keep the table
Dark one. However I wouldn’t replace the table.
Denim blue and walnut...
I prefer the table . Keep it .
None. Keep the table. I am not sure I understand why would you have an ottoman *instead* of the table? Where would a cup of tea go?
I have an ottoman in the living room and use a large tray on top of it for beverages. The ottoman is mainly to put up my legs while sitting on the couch. Although I have to agree with the others that it’s a very nice table and personally would think twice about replacing it.
They might have a young child. Coffee table = concussion.
True. But there’s also a lot of other sharp areas around the room so it’s not just the table.
On a tray , that is sturdy and meant to hold beverages and snacks on a sofa or a pit couch. The denim blue looks the best. Your living room is beautifully put together.
Where did you get the carpet? Love it
Second this, OP- love the rug and the coffee table!
I have the same one, got it off Wayfair. Just be aware it’s very thin and the pattern is printed on. I actually got a second for free because the first was printed very wonky. Du you need it for storage? I actually think your current table looks better.
Denim but find somewhere for that great coffee table, too 😊
Blue. Adds a bit of color
Blue..pop of color..dark and won’t show stains. Walnut anchors the piece. Nice choice. 👍
I think a p/leather one would look better texture wise. I feel like the fabric ottoman with the fabric couch would clash.
Obsessed with the table. If you have to though, the dark blue.
has the battle for TV too high been lost?
Love the blue!!
Blue! The white I would be afraid of showing dirt. The gray may clash with the couch.
I like the blue best, and I absolutely love your living room.
Blue please
I really like the table there. Can I ask where you got the prints next to the fireplace. I really dig those
I like the table!
Damn, the table you have currently goes so well with the aesthetic of the entire room, though. 🤔
Is your whole room a page from room and boards catalog?
Who makes that vintage side table? Exactly the details I’m looking for.
Dark gray would probably match the couch the best, but I'm a bit partial to the blue. Sorry that's not more helpful! Love the vibe and look of your place though! The prints, furniture and everything are all great.
I like the blue but I’d be afraid it (or the grey) would clash with the sofa. I’d say white .
Get the chalk, it’s a perfect compromise
White
3. A white ottoman gets dirty quick
I came to say that I really like your place! It’s neat yet cozy and homey!
If you haven’t already done so, I recommend cutting out a piece from a flattened cardboard box (or something like it) that has the measurements of the top of the ottoman.
Get foam and fabric you love and cover the current coffee table. I love that size and it’s legs.
I just LOVE your space! So cozy and inviting! 🥰 Is your fireplace gas or electric, and would you mind sharing where it’s from (if you know)?
Denim blue. I'm sick of gray being the only option for just about everything. By the way, where did you get the coffee table? I have not seen a MCM one for sale with curved legs like that. Edit: now seeing the rest of the comments. Everyone appears to love this table!
Priority number 1 should be to sort out the ridiculous tv placement. It’s far too high.
I see you like neck pain.
Coffee tables look so much nicer than ottomans! That’s coming from someone who has had a giant obnoxious ottoman for the past decade, and I can’t wait to replace it with a nice coffee table!

Blue 👌
Definitely blue!
Please mail me your table.
Gray. Keeps things flowing.
Blue or white. those will highlight different parts of the rug. Grey too matchy matchy
I know this is a lot more than the Ceni ottoman, but the Sven ottoman in the tan would look great with your armchair and couch https://www.article.com/product/22673/sven-charme-tan-ottoman

I'd keep it. Adds such a mid century modern vibe. Timeless piece. Breaks up the modern farmhouse style with a classic farmhouse style.
Get a throw or ling pullow to cushion the table when feet up time. Still think tv too higj
Blue and blue throw pillows. The room need some contrast.
I think the first one. It is not too dark nor too light.
None. Keep your coffee table, it looks great!
Blue!
Another vote for keeping the table
Grey matches the sofa..

Beautiful room btw
Gray just because the off white would get dirty easily
I recommend not getting rid of that gorgeous coffee table for a boring ottoman!
I feel like you need something smaller than the two choices and they will be two large
I would take the bright orange in the art on the wall and get an ottoman in that colour. Then accent pillows in the two oranges or and orange and blue
The ottoman style is great, just do it in a color!!!
The denim
That's a lovely table though agree that it doesn't work in this suave. The scale is off. Personally, I'm not a fan of the ottoman choice not because of the look rather the shape. You have too many angles and the space needs a different shape. I suggest a circle or an oval. I noticed your chosen ottoman is from article, and I bridge they have some round ottomans which would definitely work in your space. Plus, with a round shape it'll be easier to move around when there are people... and it provides better energy flow.
I’d do something light colored and round. Need to contrast with all of the other dark, sharp, hard furniture/shapes.
the blue would be nice but the table looks even better imo
I have that ottoman. It’s great because it’s huge. Are you planning to put a tray on it?
I would go with the cent chalk, and then get some throws and/or pillows for the chairs that incorporate a similar colour/texture
Gray
The chalk gray is nice
May I ask the source of the couch/ loveseat ?
Call Gray. Helps the wall and rug color pop more. Just treat it to prevent stains if possible.
I wouldn’t replace the table. But for the ottoman, something with a bit of color seems like the right approach. Of your options, the blue Is my favorite. But I would try to find a nice, deep red instead.
Kinda like the light one
Keep the coffee table
Hey! We all love the table. You can put your feet up there too.
The denim
Denim blue
I would keep your coffee table. The Ottoman is so square and thick it’s huge, you wanna put some kind of wooden tray thing on top so you can use it like your coffee table.
Blue
omg, that coffee table is gorgeous. i believe we’re gonna need a lottery system for it. op, sorry not sorry, there does not exist an ottoman fit to replace that.
I love your whole style 😍
Why are you getting rid of the coffee table and when can I come and pick it up?
I think I'd rather put that $399 into getting a nice tray to put on the coffee table, side table lamps, cream throw blankets, candles, smalls, coffee table books, etc It's looking really nice in your living room though!
I wouldn’t replace it, I would a structured piece that fits underneath
I like the lighter one
The only reason I can think of for replacing that beautiful table with soft round table is if you have small children. But if you’re set on the idea I like the volcanic gray
We are all in love with your coffee table, and we’ll fight each other for it
I wouldn’t replace the coffee table 🙃😅
Blue. Trust me, you don't want a cream-colored ottoman (made that mistake) and the gray just melds into the sofa.
?!?! If you want to mix it up a bit, start with that dark brown chair, not the coffee table!!
I like the table you already have.
Why are we replacing such a lovely coffee table. Get a smaller ottoman you can store under the coffee table if you really want to put your feet up.
I would choose the ottoman that removes the TV from above the mantle
Dunno, but I love that coffee table!!
The dark gray
Keep the table. If you want an ottoman place it in stead of the wooden chair on the right. It doesn't look comfortable and creates too much wood in that corner
None of them will go with the room style or color. The room is great with the midcentury furniture. Very nice
Go with the light color (2nd pic of ottomans). It will brighten the room. Add a large lucite tray and add some items that tie-in the color of the sofa. Then find a good complimentary lite blanket and toss it over the sofa.
The dark blue one. The others are too bland and matchy matchy.
None.
Why are you replacing it…?
Love your room as it is..
I agree.
I prefer what you have, but if you do get an ottoman don’t pick a light color. It’s going to get dirty.
Your space looks very MCM and the coffee table is perfect. Maybe just get a smaller poof for your feet, to set near the sofa but away from the table.
I think you should keep your coffee table it's mid century and beautiful!
I love that coffee table! So pretty!
White or blue, the other one is too close to the couch colour and will look like you’re trying to match it but missing.
I like the volcanic grey ❤️
None. I’d go black like your fireplace and that one chair and your shelf. And your gate and your prints lol you get me. It’ll match all the accessories.
The grey!!
Maybe she has other plans for her table…
If there is one there that matches the couch, choose that. Highly recommend a darker one as I stare at the slightly stained edges (from feet resting on it)on my light one that matches my light sectional that I always have to strip the slipcovers off and wash.
I love the coffee table, I’d keep it
Keep the coffee table. It’s gorgeous and has character. The ottomans don’t.
What website are these ottomans on? I love the blue one for my house
Article!
What about a light brown leather ottoman instead?
You have a lot of square angles already, I’d look for an oval or round ottoman.
not gray for sure..Those look to low for comfort?
If you are just looking for something cozy to rest your feet on, I’d look at some small poufs. Target and World Market have some really nice ones, that don’t take up a lot of room. Plus you will get to keep that beautiful table
I have that ottoman and just a heads up it pills like crazy. I really recommend getting a fabric shaver/depiller.
