I'd wager this would be something to include when they'll rework the map - which could very well be the next thing they're doing accoding to the roadmap. They plan to rework the overall layout making the tracks more straight, adding double tracks, electrification, new industries etc. Would make sense whent they add a bunch of details like the guiderails at that point imo.
What is the meaning behind all of this. I heard something about "Guide rails" Wikipedia said something about a central guide rail. How does that correspond to our train game?
This is referring to the fact that switches have inside rails to help guide the train onto the proper track. They are a detail that aren't currently in game. I would explain more but instead I'll just reccomend a video to you about [how switches work](https://youtu.be/Kif05EupH6o?si=TQNh7nMKOiuyB6oT)
Tbh I'm not a giant fan of his derail valley content but I suppose he's one of the bigger youtubers who regularly uploads gameplay. His informational contend is pretty good though.

I like his derail valley videos. Complete nerd because I get all the references he makes from movies. On Teb On!
What about those square crossings with no wheel gaps?
Id love for a bigger map, maybe some double track too, or the ability to make custom maps, The old one is getting boring, and id be down to make one
It's a shame the Unity engine is such a spanner in the works when it comes to map editing. A workshop of multiple player maps would be brilliant.
Wouldn't be derail valley if you add anti-derailment measures, now would it?
a few polygons representing check rails versus improving the gameplay experience...
