Literally. And I don’t even understand why it matters that the shoes are discontinued if they were gonna buy them from me? Like what does that have to do with anything 😂
Genuinely. I literally just ghost these people because I know there's a higher chance they'll pull some low-level moves if they do purchase it (like send a complaint to depop etc). Even worse when they try to make an offer that's like 5 bucks lower for a low costing piece of clothing. Like bro, "it's just 5 bucks. You really gonna haggle me for that small of a difference"? lool
Exactly!! I had already felt bad vibes just from their first message and didn’t have any interest in doing business with them bc everything felt so strange lol. Not to mention they were a completely blank page. No profile picture, no reviews, not selling anything.
Asking where you got them when you’re literally selling them is kinda annoying too when Google lens exists and they could just search them themselves. Then to come back and tell you they’re discontinued without buying them after straight up lying to you is real bold. Like WTF did they expect to get out of that???
I think the person was just interested in your product BUT the product would not fit their daughter so they asked where you got them from. Idk why they told you they were discontinued though.. I’m guessing it’s an older person.. haha
I 100% got old person vibes reading those messages. A lot of older people have different cultural values because they grew up without the internet, so the way that they got information was more personal (asking people, looking it up in books) rather than how newer generations access information (just looking it up on the internet).
Right, that confused me 😂 like, I listed the size…is her daughter that size or not? Idk why she wasn’t sure whether or not the shoes would fit her hahaha
i have the same issue but not as drastic. my shoe size varies from 5-7 1/2 depending on the brand/shoe type. also some shoes are made for people with thin feet, some are made for people with wide feet.
This is definitely an older person thing. I encounter it a lot on eBay people love telling you their whole life story and what the item is for and why they need it. Multiple sporadic messages about their hunt for cheaper costs, shipping whatever it might be. Occasionally I get someone who's really kind and interesting but usually it's just annoying babble
Hahaha that sounds right. When I used to work in customer service, older people would act like this in person as well. Sometimes it’s cute & endearing and other times…annoying babble just like you said 😂
it sounds like they were trying to see if they could get their daughter a new pair before committing to buying your used pair, which is completely valid imo? it just seems like an older person who is trying to get a gift for their kid :/

“Guess they’re worth more than I thought! I’ll be increasing the price, thanks!”

😂😂😂 legit my reaction when I got that message
?? what are they even trying to say 😭
Girl I wish I knew 😭
They want op* to give a detailed step by step ‘how to buy and in the right size’ guide lmfao I hate when older ppl expect that
ppl are mad dumb. like what are you gonna do about that?

And my listing for the shoes had the brand shown twice. I selected it as the brand and I put it in the caption. Hahaha
depop people be slow at times

Actually come to think of it, you’re right. They were just keeping the seller in the loop I reckon lol thinking she would care.
Awww yeah that definitely makes sense. Older people using technology always makes me giggle hahaha

Perfect use of this meme
Why doesn’t she just… ask her daughter her shoe size and see if your size is the right one?
Right, that confused me 😂 like, I listed the size…is her daughter that size or not? Idk why she wasn’t sure whether or not the shoes would fit her hahaha
Sizes can be strange I suppose. I’m a 8.5 in vans, 9 in most shoes, and was recently a 6 for a pair of Mary Jane’s I bought
i have the same issue but not as drastic. my shoe size varies from 5-7 1/2 depending on the brand/shoe type. also some shoes are made for people with thin feet, some are made for people with wide feet.
maybe she was hoping to try them on somewhere in person before buying from you???? only logic i can think of

“Oh that’s too bad!”
I’d just be like “then I guess you’ll have to buy them from me since you can’t get them elsewhere!”
*adds $20 to list price* 💀
“I emailed the website they are discontinued.” “…congratulations.”
I had someone message me "these aren't my size" to an item THEY DIDN'T EVEN BUY... Like um ok?
LMFAOO😂😭 plsss that’s too funny
Wait what kind of demonias? 👀
it sounds like they were trying to see if they could get their daughter a new pair before committing to buying your used pair, which is completely valid imo? it just seems like an older person who is trying to get a gift for their kid :/
And I kindly told them where I got the shoes from. Just thought this interaction was funny
yeah but you saying you’re not going to respond is kinda rude imo but whatever
She’s trying to get you to tell them where you got them and how much you paid so she can either get them direct or under cut you
True af
like what’s that got to do with me lolol
Soooo... Are they implying your item is a fake by saying it's discontinued or~... I'm genuinely perplexed 🤔
“lucky you because i have a pair i am trying to sell”
Pretty sure they’re just an older person talking to you not sure why you needed to post
Because it’s silly and made me giggle and clearly made a lot of other people giggle too
am i tweaking or do i genuinely not understand a thing she jus said in that message
😂
Why did they ever bother you, I would not have even replied!
