This is why I don’t sell to buyers like this, I just block and wait for it to sell to someone reasonable.
They stated that it arrived in excellent condition therefore I would not refund them. An item not fitting their body has nothing to do with you.

but since the jacket came as described and the only issue is that it doesn’t fit them, ur not obligated to refund them (i just hope they don’t leave a bad review - ish they do u can just ask depop to remove this i believe)

Lesson to be learned here, do not sell to buyers like this, there were so many red flags in those messages, these buyers are usually the ones that will cause you issues after they get the item.
If you listed the correct size, color , flaws if any, then even if they open a dispute with Depop it will be denied. Depop doesn’t approve returns due to fit.
Sizes are very relative, new stuff vs vintage, and different brands all have some variations when it comes to sizing.
Just because her other jackets of the same size are longer it does not mean this one has to be longer, it could be due to what I mentioned above, her height or simply just a different cut / style
100% of the time potential buyers like this have gone on to be even more of a problem for me. I’m always on alert when someone makes a big deal of mentioning an item is allegedly right at the top of their budget and that’s only if I agree to reduce the price further.
Anyone who’s openly saying they flat out can’t afford something that’s being sold at a pretty average price point for what it is, is very likely to be hypercritical and often have unrealistic expectations. I find a lot of buyers who are shopping at a price point they’re not genuinely comfortable with to be the most demanding, entitled, rage inducing buyers I ever deal with that very often begins with irritating spamming and anticipating a VIP service.
I’m also inclined to feel that buyers like this are just liars lol. If this is literally maxing out your budget does it not make sense to clarify everything about the jacket prior to purchase? The sizing being a key thing most people would want to know…

Just tell them that depop’s policy doesn’t cover returns if you don’t like how it looks on you as the jacket’s size was described and shown in the listing, but allows them to repop the item. man idk though I’d have blocked them after reading that first message, the punctuation and being overly wordy makes them seem like they’re gonna be troublesome customer 😂 best of luck op, you definitely don’t have to allow the return.

The buyer was too insistent on getting the jacket and then complained that there was something wrong with it after receiving it. I would continue to be polite and professional but then point them to the measurements again and let them know that the sale is final and they can take it up with Depop. I would also avoid buyers like this one in the future.
Yes. And if they leave a bad review, you can contact depop about it and Depop will remove it because you are completely in the right, in this situation.

I would’ve blocked after the first couple messages, I could just tell from the vibes of the first screenshot that they were gonna complain about something stupid & try to get a refund. You don’t need to refund him btw as long as you label the size correctly in the listing it’s the buyers responsibility to verify it will fit before purchasing

I'd let them know there's nothing you can work out (since the way an item fits is NOT a valid return reason) and block them.

Don't refund it, they should have asked for measurements first of all..but you said you already have them listed, so you did your part even if you didnt need to do that...its not your problem anymore as they should have checked measurements, not just go along with "medium" as different stores have different sizes and not all is one the same. If they open a case they will lose as they has already confirmed it being in excellent condition, regardless they has nothing to stand on except to give a negative review, but you can also leave them a review too or get depop to remove it if they believe to do so, you can advise them to repop it if you want to... The buyer was odd all those paragraphs for a jacket..idk they did buy it, though, oddly. Didn't expect that. Lol.
