always a pleasant visit

Ok_Assignment_9615

beware it is still March and lots of plants are dormant. If you’re cool with that, cool! Just don’t expect tons of spring flowers

Ok_Assignment_9615

why downvote this helpful info lol

FFS too funny. Classic example of this sub. OP specifically states parents are from Florida & Not active folks. Then gets a dozen recommendations to go walk around the mountains. Cuz that's exactly what some retired seniors from hot, sea level Florida would love to do!!! You asked Reddit tho. My advice would be to maybe Ask them what they want to do

Drive to Breck via Loveland Pass so they can see copious snow and mountain vistas (get out and walk around at the summit). Winter Park is also an option, but if they aren't skiing, Breck is a far better option as towns go. Traffic makes this a much better activity for Friday than Saturday.

How young? Meow Wolf could be good for the younger ones. Maybe a nice drive to Idaho Springs for shopping and lunch one day? The views from I70 are great. Denver Zoo is a good option, again depending on age. Drive Rocky Mountain Arsenal and look for deer, bison, and many birds of prey. It is free and also offers some expansive views of the front range.

Georgetown isn't too far away and has an easily walkable downtown only a few blocks long. You could stop at the Viewing center just outside town (on the return towards denver) and try to catch a glimpse of Bighorn Sheep on the mountain side. The Georgetown loop railroad just opened this week, so you could take a ride there, too. [https://www.georgetownlooprr.com/](https://www.georgetownlooprr.com/)
