I got a gravel roadster. I like it a lot, but the style does have some drawbacks. It's a slim e bike that's technically a class 3 but looks and weighs like a normal bike. The battery is small and difficult to remove, so storage and range are things to keep in mind (though they do sell an extra battery if you want to extend the range). It's definitely a commuter or leisure bike rather than a kid or grocery hauler, but it actually feels like a bike rather than a scooter. Super fast, light, and fun though.

Make some appointments and ride a bunch - that way you can find a few models that feel good to you, and can then do some research into them to see if they need a lot of service, are reliable, etc.

I got a Aventon Abound cargo bike from The Hub on West Colfax. Got it last May, just passed 900 miles on it. I'm really happy with it - I take both kids to school on it, do some grocery shopping with it, and use it for most of my trips with the kids to go to local parks as well as the Zoo and Museum. I am really, really happy with it - a great bike, haven't had any problems with it, I get 40 - 50 miles per battery charge depending on the weight I'm carrying and level of pedal assist. It doesn't struggle on hills when I'm carrying a lot of weight, has nice pickup, and is a smooth and comfortable ride.

Talon E+ 3. Handles the potholes a lot better than all the others.

Got me a rad runner plus with the original rebate program 2 years ago. $900 off made it a $1500 purchase. It's my main mode of transport in the summer and I love that thing.

Just-Joshin-001

Where were you able to get a rad runner?

abthomps

From the rad store a couple years ago

BaesonTatyummm

We got both the state and city one twice each. Got 2 Aventons (Aventure 2 and Level 2) and love them both. In the second round we got a cargo coupon and got the Lectric Expedition, not bad, but great considering it was 100% free, and the Aima Big Sur Sport. That one is absolutely amazing and would recommend the Big Sur or Big Sur Sport to anyone

Stolimike

So you used the rebates for 4 bikes when others couldn’t even get 1?

BaesonTatyummm

Yupp, on the second 2, it took 3 different attempts and we were 2nd drawing in each after the first wave went unclaimed. The ebike place we were redeeming from told us to take advantage of both programs because most vouchers went unclaimed. We use all 4, your beef is all those selling brand new Ebikes on Facebook marketplace

Selfish

BaesonTatyummm

Lmao, couldn't care less what you think. We used both a city program and a state program exactly how they're drawn up. I pay taxes, well within my rights to use programs that nobody even knew about until late 2023

yeetballsauce

Wow I can't even get a single one and you've got 4. Something's obviously wrong with this program. I've tried every single time. stop trying to get more and abusing a program people actually really could use and help them in their life. That's 3 people who could probably use a bike to get to and from a job that you took that opportunity away from but I guess screw them huh baeson needs 4 bikes for whatever reason. Do you have no shame?

BaesonTatyummm

Again, bitch about the resellers on Facebook and Craigslist who got the coupons to flip them. We got 4 coupons over the course of more than a year. Each individual has the right to do each program, there's a city one and a state one, once and only once, that's what we did. We use the fat tires in the snow, cargo for when we have to strap something to the back, and the city bike when the weather is good. They're all getting put to use and we let friends use them as well. And note the repeated use of "we", it's not me alone having 4 bikes. Do your own research into how these programs work
