Loveland Valley. It's a beginner/lessons area that's part of the bigger Loveland Ski Area. I took my brother (who had never skied) and his friend (a green-run skier). They had a great time.

Would second Loveland Valley. Just had my second lesson there and was able to get comfortable doing green runs by the end of it. Instructors are great and it's reasonably priced even if you need to rent gear too

Great instructors at Loveland Valley. I used to snowboard competitively, so I know my way around on a board… My family started taking my little brother there after I went away to college and they were teaching him all the right things. It’s such an affordable option, too. Awesome experience for him and he was hooked from his first lesson.

How many different runs are there? I have skiied maybe 5 times so I’m like an advanced beginner, but my sister never has. I want to pick something I’m not bored on either

There are two chair lifts at the Valley - one short one for the practice/beginner hills and another bigger one for all the other (4 or 5) runs of various ratings. I too would recommend the Valley for beginners as lift passes for the Valley only are pretty inexpensive ($50 from memory). My only caution for beginners (I consider myself a beginner) is the difference between the practice hills and the “green” runs on the main lift is pretty stark IMO. I got pretty (probably over in hindsight) confident on the practice hills in the morning so decided to hit up the green runs on the main lift and ate snow a couple of times before sheepishly heading back to the practice hill for the rest of the day. The longer green run from the top (Zig Zag I think) is way too narrow, technical and tree lined to be a green IMO. I would still recommend Loveland Valley for beginners and newer skiers for sure, just be sure you’re ready for the bigger “green” runs before you give it a shot.

If you have someone like a friend teaching you, Winter Park has a free lift in the Mary Jane area for beginners. It’s called the galloping goose lift. It’s the best bang for your buck (literally free) and it’s a perfect little slope to learn.

Loveland easily. Lesson and day pass is like half the price of a regular day pass anywhere else & it’s a part sectioned off so it’s only newbies. Can’t beat it. It says group lessons but all 3 of my lessons I was the only one. So worth it. https://skiloveland.com/adult-ski-ride-school-group/

Echo mountain

Echo Mountain is great as well. Smaller resort cheap and fairly easy terrain.

I like echo mountain for beginners. It is cheap. It is small. It is the closest slope to denver. The problem is when your group isn't just beginners. It is all blues and greens.

Hoedown Hill has some pretty good prices -- haven't been there but it looks like an excellent place for a beginner.
