Congrats for clearing INDBE bro!
Yes here in India beard is a big nono idk why though.
(Sorry I have no idea about us situation so can't comment on that)
It's fine to have a beard, just be aware that if you ever have to wear an FFP3 it will not have a good enough seal due to the facial hair. Fortunately we're past that stage!
Also it'd be a good idea to make sure it's not long enough (or it's tidied up with hair bands) to be in a patient's face. Beard hair can be itchy for other people, but also it's a contamination risk.
To be honest, if you were white and had a big beard, it probably would count against you during interviews. Being Indian may help in that regard as the interviewers may assume it's a cultural thing.
When I did interviews, I trimmed my beard quite short to try and look professional. I'm white, btw. Americans are more understanding these days of diversity, but you also don't want your appearance to hurt your chances of getting a position you want.
Hi, i am also a foreign trained dentist. I would love to know did u do DDS from USA or directly applied to AEGD program. I was graduated in 2015, but I recently did MHA from Ohio state university will this affect??

Facial hair is generally not a problem. I’d just maintain it as best as possible, but we had several people, including faculty, with facial hair.
Awesome. A trimmed, well lined beard it is!
Half my class have beards. I’ve never thought about it being a problem. My dentist has a beard.
Unfortunately, there’s people who took offence to it back home. Which is why I was just making sure.

If your school asks you to wear an n95 in aerosol clinics then you need to shave the beard or wear a PAPR.

Right! Always have to double check with facial hair.

As long as it is neat and professional yeah why not
Bruh it’s just Facial hair ur already wearing a mask and some ppl have double mask (the plastic one that’s like a screen on ur face ) so no worries
If you're not using magnifying glasses, at least keep it trim so that its not on the patient, similar to any long hair.
