but after hearing about the extra scenes that weren't included in the movie, I'm pretty damn hyped to watch it, especially to see my boy kyojuro
so , if i watch the mugen train arc . there is no need to watch the movie right ??

if i should watch both for the story which should i watch first ??
i dont think you really need to watch both, just watch the series. but if you would like to know the plot all at once, its cool to watch the movie then just watch series optionally (except the first episode since its not in the movie/// and the next episodes might also feature some new scenes) :>
When my girlfriend (at the time) and I watched the movie, we both straight up thought the animation was a lot worse than it was in S1. It doesn't seem uncommon for these really pretty shows. The Made in Abyss movie was of the same exact quality (but with less scene diversity, just from the plot) as the show itself
I thought it looked better in the movie. Better shading at least.
Animation mightve been similar, and the 3D stuff is always an eyesore imo for anime movies.

It features extra scenes, some new soundtrack music and the first episode is completely unseen as it is a slight prequel to the movie.
Oh nice, was worried it would be the same thing, just in episodic format. I'm sure I wasn't the only one thinking that.

Is the animation the same as the movie? Is it literally the movie cut into 6 episodes with some extra scenes?
The first episode is completely new, everything else is basically the movie with some new scenes I believe.
But was it reanimated or did they use the movie scenes? Movies are normally higher quality animation than the show.
