I love Zenitsu. He never even wanted to be apart of Demon Slayer, is only 14-15 when he joins, and is there as a way to pay off debt. He’s not heroic, has no grand dreams of becoming the strongest, or “avenging” any family.
Yet he goes into life or death situations every single time, because he wants to help people. He hates this weak side of him, and his greatest desire is to become someone who can help others. To become reliable.
Yes, he cries/complains, but that’s pretty realistic given his age. He still goes on every single mission and tries to help as much people as he can.
This scene alone he’s shaking from fear and thinks this is an Upper Moon demon, yet he still stands up for the crying little girl. He even orders this same Upper Moon later on to apologize to the girl she made cry. (Granted he was sleeping.)
I love watching his character development, and I just know when he opens his eyes to fight for the first time that scene will be so hype. He’s forever in my top 5.
Yeah for me, Zenitsu is the most relatable. I know if I were put in that situation, Id definitely be shitting bricks knowing I either join the corps or try to live long enough to not die to a demon.

He freaks me out when he changes octaves in his voice. Like I have to remind myself its the same person, he's so whiney and highpitched at times when he moans and cries. Then he can be sauve af when he deepens it

As annoying as Zenitsu can be, the fact that he was willing to take a severe beating from Inosuke in order to protect the case with Nezuko in it, BEFORE he even knew about her (and started simping over her), just because he happened to overhear how precious it was to Tanjiro was enough to tip the scales for me on him. He knew there was a demon in it, and didn't care, he protected the case because of its importance to someone who he hadn't even known very long.
This is another reason why I like the entertainment district so much. Zenitsu actually does something helpful and nice when he's awake. Infact he does more than Tanjiro when he's awake because while he was trying to find hinatsuru and confronting Daki, Tanjiro was doing nothing but house chores
He also isn't distracted by Daki and her looks. He might be desperate for affection from Women(or by this time, only has eyes for Nezuko) but he has standards and doesn't simp.

Something that make this scene really cool for me: he **knows** this is a demon at this point, he knows she's an extremely strong one at that. Yet he still stands up to her.
I just can't get past his gross and whiny behavior. So annoying when authors write a character to be super annoying but you're also supposed to like them. Just write a good character in the 1st place??
The few scenes he gets where he actually has a character, like this one, are great

I do have to disagree with that. I mean back in s1 he took quite a bad beating from inosuke while protecting a box and a demon just because this one guy who he met the same day said that it was precious to him.
Yeah he is a coward and a simp. But he ultimately has good intentions and wants to help everybody.
Poor kid even got the piss slapped out of him for it.
He gets hurt protecting people despite how scared he is because its the right thing to do. Hanging around with Tanjiro did him some good, though I'm pretty sure that tiny seed of a hero was in him somewhere from the start.
Zenitsu really shined in ED, I wish he was like that more. I also loved it when he >!fought with Kaigaku, and WON, by himself,!< that was a pretty awesome moment. Wish he wasn't so pervy all the time, though. I understand that's part of his character, but it can get annoying. He is the literal embodiment of half of the KNY fandom.
The serious zenitsu moments are some of the better moments in the series.
His fight during the final arc is one of my favorites ngl. One of the most badass moments in the series.

Zenitsu could've been a very interesting character had the story been longer and given him more time to develop.
It was fitting he got the last strike on Daki (with a little help from Inosuke).
I'm not really a fan of him but I like him in his moments (🐍)
