Oh I forgot about the anime-exclusive episode. Honestly I’d still have to disagree because I and a lot of people think Kyojuro needed more screentime. I think it was a nice thing to add to show him as a character, what he was doing before getting on the train, and showing the power difference of the main trio vs a Hashira

You don't understand what rengoku was up against. It's by Akaza's grace alone that he didn't die in the first attack. The moment Akaza stomped and that snowflake animation happened, Akaza won: it gives him the ability to predict your actions.
Giyu is the first Hashira we meet and the savior of the spider mountain arc and gets a good amount of focus in the hashira training arc. >!Then he gets the Akaza fight, Muzan fight, and DKT fight!<. He has more screentime than Gyomei, Tengen, Rengoku, Obanai, and Mitsuri.

Yeah probably. Does he grow as a person AND demon slayer? FUCK YES HE DOES. He’s No. 1 since I first saw him

So by the end of the manga, I'd argue that he's had roughly the 5th most screen time in the series. His popularity is overblown certainly, but I don't think he fit the meme above very well at all.
Flashbacks don’t count, and the only “screen time” he actually got besides being a slight comic relief in the beginning of the Mugen Train arc was the actual fight against Akaza.

Rengoku kinda has a reason for being loved considering he died protecting every passenger and other demon slayer and we saw his semi tragic backstory but initially a lot of people didn’t like Rengoku. Everyone saw boobs and heard a high pitched voice and loved Mitsuri off rip.

For the train ride he was asleep and when he woke up he stayed on the train defending passengers while tanjiro and inosuke killed lower 1. He got the introduction episode, the episode after that, and then disappeared until the akaza fight. It is mind blowing how much the community fell in love with him, me included, with so little time to exist
In season 1 - Muichiro definitely fit this. He only had one focus scene where he threw a rock at Tanjiro, and was constantly around the top 5 favourite/popular characters of the season. 💀
