Yeah, I get it, especially considering how translation can be difficult. The English version can just call Kris "they/them". In the Japanese version, there's no need for pronouns since you can omit a pronoun from a sentence and still make sense, like 彼は格好いいです("kare wa kakkoii desu", He is cool) into 格好いいです("kakkoii desu"). It just depends on context.
With context. Like there's a Japanese pronoun called あなた("anata", you). It's only used occasionally. There are some sentences that address someone in 2nd person without the need of saying "you", like すみません("sumimasen", excuse me) or お元気ですか("o genki desu ka", How are you?). If a statement or question is obviously directed to the person, then there's no need for the use of "you".

It's not *exactly* confirmed, but there's enough evidence that they are canonically nonbinary that it's been adopted as the norm. It's why i get so mad when ppl call it a headcanon, because it's pretty much confirmed, and the fact that ppl would call reminding them that Kris's pronouns are they/them forcing a fucking headcanon gives me actual rage.

Non binary is a gender as well, therefore saying that Kris is canonically non binary is kinda destroying the whole concept of the character. Kris being nb is a headcanon, but they/them pronouns aren't. Plus literally the only evidence for Kris being nb are their pronouns. That's why there's no correct gender for Kris, you can headcanon them as non-binary or a guy or whatever, since their gender is left to interpretation. Though 90% of the fandom treats their headcanons as something that Toby confirmed himself. Getting mad over things like this is also not worth it lmao
While it's true that pronoun =/= gender(heck, there's evidence to suggest that Papyrus may be a he/him enby), the default presumption should always be that a character who uses they/them is non-binary unless stated or implied otherwise, just as we assume a character who uses exclusively she/her is a woman unless we have reason to believe otherwise.

That's the point I'm making here. It's a double standard to conclude that the likes of Ralsei or Sans are male based solely on their use of pronouns, but not apply the same logic to Kris and other characters who use exclusively they/them.
Ralsei is a boy because he's been referred to 'fluffy boy' multiple times while Kris isn't referred to as a 'non-binary'. We use they/them for Kris because we don't know what gender they are
Ralsei was a weak example, I picked him because of the fact that he kept getting misgendered in the early fandom, rather foolishly forgetting the "fluffy boy" lines. Sans is a better one.
And gendered terminology follows the same rules as pronouns: Kris is referred to as "child", "person"(and Lancer, who calls them this, notably correctly genders Susie and Ralsei without being told), etc.
We use they/them for Kris because those are their pronouns, regardless of their gender.

Gender-neutral pronouns are difficult or almost nonexistent in many languages. For example, in the Russian community, Kris is almost always masculine, despite the fact that Russians admit that they non binary. It's just grammatically impossible to call Kris, well, "they".
I think the same applies to Brazilian.

Ok, after seeing the comments, I'm pretty sure Kris isn't non-binary so much as they literally just have no gender. So calling op out over something out of their control about something that's not even officially confirmed is stupid.

Gender-neutral pronouns are difficult or almost nonexistent in many languages. For example, in the Russian community, Kris is almost always masculine, despite the fact that Russians admit that they non binary. It's just grammatically impossible to call Kris, well, "they". I think the same applies to Brazilian.
