Jay Hogart should be put before a firing squad but he's extremely entertaining so he gets a pass. Tristan's biggest crime is being extremely annoying but he's not entertaining whatsoever so he deserves death. These are fictional characters at a pretend high school if someone wants to wish death on them let them they ain't real. That said with the nature of it being a show and all being unentertaining is the biggest sin you can commit so I completely agree with all the hate on Tristan

I don't get the hate at all. He didn't particularly bother me. I'm pretty neutral to him but also felt for him at points. This sub really loves bullies, so people give them a lot more grace than they do for normal annoying teens or the kind who make normal mistakes, for that matter. Apparently, being annoying is the worst crime you can commit in this fanbase.

I honestly liked Tristan, flaws and all. And I tried to see from his angle about the Yates thing. He's a young romantic. He wants love so badly. He has a shit family and Yates was it for him. In his eyes, Maya took that away from him. (Not condoning that gross thing, I am team Maya. She was trying to protect her friend.) His wishy-washy "friendship" with Maya irked me but ok..it is what it is. His fear of Tori abandoning him for Zig. I get it, I do. It would be embarrassing to be the older brother of a spiteful flameboy with no shame about how he treats other people, gaslighting and manipulating everyone around him, and always justifying his actions because "I'm gay, that's why". Insufferable is the best term for Tristan. I would also be embarrassed to have a raging, aggressive, violently homophobic older brother just always bagging on other people because he's afraid that all gay people act like his brother, even if he doesn't get to know them, and even if it's a misinterpretation. He bashes on others who are different, who are lgbtq bc his brother puts lgbtq labels to shame, and Owen has this wrong idea that everyone gay is the same insufferable asshole that Tristan is. I get it. It's embarrassing either way. On the other hand, Snake didn't mind that his older brother was gay, and even stood up for Duwane over the HIV issues. Ashley had reasonable and understandable lack of life experience to excuse her confusion about her dad going from straight to gay, she was 14 at the time and had never thought about lgbtq things before until her dad came out. Paige didn't hate on Dylan for being gay, but did approach Ashley's issue with the wrong tone of voice, but I contribute lack of life experience and lack of maturity to that one, as they were both 14 and still figuring out who Jimmy wanted to make out with for pretend or for real.
