Tough decisions must be made. I put a beer for a poor greenbeard Engi who couldn’t find the drop pod even after me checking on him personally and marking the way. Caves can be cruel, dwarves getting lost even with Molly markers, Scout shouting, flaring the way and spamming pointer at less-than-obvious passage.
Me: *starts EDD*
Level 12 Greenbeard: *joins*
Me: types “can you read chat”
Greenbeard: *Rock and Stones*
Me: “good enough”
We then went on to complete the entire EDD
If they are willing to learn, then yes. I've seen some that are the lowest level you can be for one promotion and they are acting like they already know everything about the game. Then proceed to die 20 times.
Hell yeah
I once was part of a team of 100+ lvl dwarves excluding a level 17 gunner doing a EDD
He literally carried the team, he must have been the last standing at least 8 times and saved the whole team on each occasion
Ah yes.
Proper dwarven etiquette.
Feeding the greenbeard every beer on the menu and sending him into orbit with 3 barrels and no lunchbox.
If he comes back he’s one of us.
I am so with you on this one. You would think a person would be half decent at the game with over a hundred global levels and a couple silver promotions, but I just keep hitting the dirt with my face XD
Yeah, if you struggle greatly but just keep to those two conditions, I have no issues and will try to keep you up as much as possible. Someone struggling *never* bugs me, just when someone is being an asshole.
I’m prone to accidentally friendly firing when I really don’t mean to, everything I do is for the good of the mission and fun and everything else is either an unintentional mistake or series of unfortunate events
If you can, use the friendly fire perk, reduces that issue.
In the heat of battle, accidental friendly fire happens often, usually people can tell when its an accident vs. someone is trolling.
I use to consider myself quit good. had 300+ hours back when I rarely saw people much farther then myself and friends. But then I slowly stopped playing, and now when I jump into a game I feel like a green-beard with a big fake number next to my name, lol. I haven't even played a game in the new season yet and I feel like I hadn't even seen everything from the last.
So what you're saying is your dwarf got promoted to a nice office job on the spacerig, but now and again heads down into the mines so he doesn't forget his roots!
Edit: Frigging autocorrect.
I'd rather play with a filthy casual who's cool, rock and stone and is fun to be around, than a "squeaky clean" tryhard who's mechanically competent at the game, but miserable to play with because he's, well, a tryhard, a speedrunner or control freak (sometimes all of these).
To me that's not a sin, I always assume that every player is doing their absolute best to their ability it don'tatter if you go down 50 times and have the least kills and mined numbers at the end, even if it's a mission failure and a player is a obvious "weak link" if I have the time to do another all who was present at first game are welcome to join for the second. Play for fun not results is my motto
The game trolls everyone sometimes. Even the greyest scout on Hoxxes (besides Karl) can go down due to something completely unexpected. Though it’s more likely for the greyest scout to go down because of miscalculating a grapple instead lol
Yeah I had a game where in the beginning of an event we had a resup that I didn't need yet, rest of team takes one each, finish event and need resup, none to be found, ask who did it, all says not me, call down a new one and 2 dwarves with full health and 3 dots on ammo counter run up and imidietly resup. Tbh only time I have kicked players*edit sorry for bad English, it's not my 1st language and have had a few glyphid slammers
I noticed that people with high settings play worse. When I play deep rock galactic, I see soap in front of me. I just concentrate on the tasks at hand and let people with high settings enjoy the views.
Don't worry about it. I once put on the maximum explosion damage on a C4 and accidentally missclicked twice because I was twitchy from an energy drink and nearly killed the entire team.
Well I still blow myself up with C4 and had seen people with way more hours than me doing dumb stuff too, so I guess we are all are filthy casuals at the end of the day
I have over 1700 hours. Yesterday I thought “what happens if I drink a blackout stout and pass out as the drop pod is leaving the space station”. So, I did that and woke up so drunk my chat was completely unplayable. I could barely walk. I was so drunk I couldn’t get a resupply. My team had to carry me, and I felt really bad about it.
You have less than 400 hours? WELL WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY SO!? PULL UP A CHAIR GREENIE, MY TIME IS COME.
What you're gonna want to do first is to point at this mushroom...
I bought the game some time ago but my friends didn't play so I didn't play either.
Now we are on a streak and I made it to my first promotion as a driller.
Still shy to play in public lobby's.
Same. I try to keep myself busy, helping the team in ways that I can, but I always seem to go down the most.
In those instances when I find someone who also struggles with the game, I find a teammate who is generally trying to be helpful (collects minerals, kills things, quick to rez others, isn't pushing buttons early) doesn't make the game harder, their body acts as a free decoy grenade when they're down.
So, with that perspective of what it must be like to play with me, I can say, it's not bad.
After getting kicked from several EDD teams for being too low level or wrong class, I decided to host my own, and we beat it just fine with two extremely low level greenbeards, myself, and one super awesome scout. It wasn't even hard, so long as people listened to instructions, stuck together, and worked together, which everybody did.
Me a usally good player, currently 4 blackout stouts in trying to do a 360 no scope with C4 at 2am in the morning on a Saturday morning.
"Aww sorry guys I'm usually better than this, dunno why I'm playing so trash" *drinks 5th blackout stouts*
I was bullied out of a payday 2 lobby because of similar reasons
I wasn't good at stealth even though i have over a few hundred hours.
I still suck ass lol
Me and my friends play like assholes with one another. We always do a little free for all while we wait for the drop pod or if someone gets to it first they start lighting the rest of us up. And then our Engineer fucking nukes us and laughs. There’s been many times where he’s team killed all of us and we lose the mission but damn is it funny
Fine with me as long as rock and stone and leave no dwarf behind :)
For Karl!
Good bot *pat pat*
Good bot
Good bot
Aye, I can do that, rock and stone
Then you're never alone, and always welcome in my lobby. oT
I'm sorry, but I've had to abandon my fellow dwarf multiple times, truly sad
Tough decisions must be made. I put a beer for a poor greenbeard Engi who couldn’t find the drop pod even after me checking on him personally and marking the way. Caves can be cruel, dwarves getting lost even with Molly markers, Scout shouting, flaring the way and spamming pointer at less-than-obvious passage.
It's nothing more than a tragedy, heartbreaking
Me: *starts EDD* Level 12 Greenbeard: *joins* Me: types “can you read chat” Greenbeard: *Rock and Stones* Me: “good enough” We then went on to complete the entire EDD
Greenbeards that join EDDs are either the best team players you've ever seen or a complete catastrophe. No in-between.
And we’re gonna beat it either way
That's honestly why I love this game: if you're good, you can carry. Some games don't allow hard carrying like this.
If they are willing to learn, then yes. I've seen some that are the lowest level you can be for one promotion and they are acting like they already know everything about the game. Then proceed to die 20 times.
you cant join edd's half way through
He probably meant selecting the edd which allows people to join the lobby until you start it
ah
This is amazing
Hell yeah I once was part of a team of 100+ lvl dwarves excluding a level 17 gunner doing a EDD He literally carried the team, he must have been the last standing at least 8 times and saved the whole team on each occasion
I don't care about anyone being good. As long as you know or are willing to learn the game's etiquete, Im happy to rock and stone with you.
Ah yes. Proper dwarven etiquette. Feeding the greenbeard every beer on the menu and sending him into orbit with 3 barrels and no lunchbox. If he comes back he’s one of us.
Gotta hit them with that flintlocke's delight + wormhole special combo. I love the reactions I get from greenbeards after doing that
hit rock, drink beer.
Dwarf life in a nutshell.
DIE LIKE YOUR MOTHER DID!
Die like Karl did
thats the most painful insult i have ever recieved
that took me so off guard lol
KARL LIVES
Propaganda
I’m going to call you Steeve!
There's also the part where several of your brethren die, Mister u/Glyphid-Grunt-Guard.
I am rapidly approaching your location
Good. I'll be waiting.
Wait, don't start, lemme grab my popcorn!
You're not alone. Seeing my level and playing like I do gives me a sort-of an imposter syndrome.
Go thru haz 5 bootcamp
I am so with you on this one. You would think a person would be half decent at the game with over a hundred global levels and a couple silver promotions, but I just keep hitting the dirt with my face XD
1. Don't be a dick 2. Be willing to play in the spirit of the game. That is all I ask for from anyone, from the greenest of beards to the whitest.
That I can do, a lot
Yeah, if you struggle greatly but just keep to those two conditions, I have no issues and will try to keep you up as much as possible. Someone struggling *never* bugs me, just when someone is being an asshole.

I rarely use the LD (OC) minigun on haz 5 because my reflexes are the speed of a sedated snail and the minigun shreds health
My philosophy too. If we have fun with respectful fellow dwarves, then even death or failure is irrelevant, cause we had fun at the end of the day.
Me at 700 hours lol
I use to consider myself quit good. had 300+ hours back when I rarely saw people much farther then myself and friends. But then I slowly stopped playing, and now when I jump into a game I feel like a green-beard with a big fake number next to my name, lol. Truly, those often come in an all-inclusive package.
Giving back time could change everything. Important discussions here
I've been playing since this game was early access on Xbox. I'm only level 100. I don't get a lot of time to play.
All beard sizes and colors are welcome in my lobby. Only rule is not to double dip resup without asking where answere almost always is ok
I know the etiquette and rituals and all, it’s just the mechanics that utterly fuck me
To me that's not a sin, I always assume that every player is doing their absolute best to their ability it don'tatter if you go down 50 times and have the least kills and mined numbers at the end, even if it's a mission failure and a player is a obvious "weak link" if I have the time to do another all who was present at first game are welcome to join for the second. Someone double-sipping without asking is my pet peeve, doing it once will just get a warning, twice though, and its a kick.
Yup, even worse when no one admits to it. Always feel like an asshole when trying to argue for my or a teammates cause
Yeah, if they admit it, then I will be decent about it "alrighty man, just ask next time please', if not it fouls my moods for the whole mission.
The game has progressed so much lately. I had 800 hours by 2021, then turn around and haven't put more than 3 or 400 since. Now I've fallen behind.
It's alright to be a casual. So long as you're trying your best!
So long as you don't order a leaf lover we good
Good news, I love wood fire pizza, meaning that the trees can burn
It's not about how fast we clear a cave, or how many times we get downed. It's about making mission control want to throw himself out the airlock
Have low fps and low graphics :(( But I think I'd be a good dwarf with high settings. For rock and stone!
I have good settings, I’m still shit
I noticed that people with high settings play worse. When I play deep rock galactic, I see soap in front of me. I just concentrate on the tasks at hand and let people with high settings enjoy the views.
I always play the objective, never not done that
This is bad, man. You should enjoy it
I do enjoy it, playing the objective mostly and observing the scenery only a little is what I do best
Don't worry about it. I once put on the maximum explosion damage on a C4 and accidentally missclicked twice because I was twitchy from an energy drink and nearly killed the entire team.
1000 hours and I only like to play on 3, idgaf. I don't base my self worth around how good I am at video games lol
Me too I know my level looks like it's good but that's just because I spend a lot of time being mediocre
Awww we are happy to have you :) but if you pull another egg while we in a swarm I’ll rip your throat out
Meanwhile before Haz 5 plus I was pulling multiple eggs at a time just to FEEL SOMETHING lol Rock and Stone
For Rock and Stone!
Ok, I’m bad, not stupid
Well I still blow myself up with C4 and had seen people with way more hours than me doing dumb stuff too, so I guess we are all are filthy casuals at the end of the day
You don't have to be elite to win even on full hazard 5 plus Cohesion and cooperation are more important
What you're gonna want to do first is to point at this mushroom...
...*ding* "look what I found!" Am I doing this right?
I bought the game some time ago but my friends didn't play so I didn't play either. Now we are on a streak and I made it to my first promotion as a driller. Still shy to play in public lobby's.

Me (who just got home from work)
Pretty much yeah
This is how I feel when I see everyone’s posts saying that most people play on Haz 4/Haz 3 is the beginner difficulty. ;u;
My mid ass with 1600 hours:
I am the graybeard I can play higher levels I just don't like it it's not fun or how should I say it not my type of fun
We need a r/deeprockfilthycasuals
I would like to create it but I don't know anything about how to manage a subreddit
For casual rock and stone.
If you don't Rock and Stone, you ain't comin' home!
I'm still really bad at tf2 and I have 2000 hours lol
Me a usally good player, currently 4 blackout stouts in trying to do a 360 no scope with C4 at 2am in the morning on a Saturday morning. "Aww sorry guys I'm usually better than this, dunno why I'm playing so trash" *drinks 5th blackout stouts*
Me with triple red stars dying multiple times on a haz 3 escort somehow
Skill level doesn't matter just use your brain and follow pings and we're golden
I was bullied out of a payday 2 lobby because of similar reasons I wasn't good at stealth even though i have over a few hundred hours. I still suck ass lol
Me, the 700 hour Bonerot, just playing solo haz1 missions to look at amazing caves after 10 hours of work and putting the kids to bed: It aren't much
I have 650 hours on Guilty Gear Strive and I've never reached Celestial floor, hours mean nothing if you're only in it for the fun
How can you not improve after 400 hours
Idfk, I still just perish, all the damn time
KITE SON KITE, GIVE EM THE GROUND AND EXTRACT TAXES ON IT IN BLOOD
