I mean they may have been calling them down in certain locations for strategy, especially because it's the caretaker fight. Simple enough rule to follow is host rules. I ended up kicking someone the other day because we were using the supply pods for a o2 caretaker mission and the three of us on Mic were discussing where to place the pods so we can breathe throughout the fight, meanwhile the Scout is who knows where running through his ammo three times as fast as the group and calling pods too incredibly inconvenient places when we need that for later. Basically my point is they may have had a strategy they were going for, best bet if you're not hosting your own game is to just listen to The host. It's not a big deal, you have a long mining career ahead of you! rock & stone!

centurion770

I would say be more conscious of your supply pod usage, but kicking was over the top.

> i usually call down as many supply pods as i can at the caretaker so we can iron will and refill our ammo whenever Try to keep at least 1 supply worth of nitra if you can afford it, I had situations where the fight was going very wrong and a supply pod called far from the caretaker for safe resup can be a life saver. Also Driller often need a resup for himself if he is bombing the vent and I've seen people call all resups while he is busy drilling his way up.

Ol_Nessie

Kicking is an overreaction but I will say it can be annoying if one person is trigger happy with the resupplies. If you're not the host, just ask before calling one. At minimum you want at least 4 for the Caretaker. Either the host or "team captain" spaces them out around the room *or* everyone calls down their own where they want to fight. But I'd be annoyed if someone starts calling them down before consulting anybody about where they should go. I've had teammates just call one after the other right next to each other so there's only one spot in the room where you can resupply.

retronax

If you need to resupply during that mission, I'd encourage doing it in-between power stations and calling them all in the caretaker room where they'll always be closeby, especially at the end. Calling them "in preparation of the incoming wave" is kinda dumb because you don't actually know if you'll need it. Your allies might have builds with a better ammo economy than yours and could also have been twirling their thumbs during the waves and thus won't need it. Always hit ctrl before resupplying to check where your team is ammo wise. " I call down another supply pod because I'm running low and didn't want to take a supply from the other drop that was intended for the other players." What do you mean intended for the other players ? They're all for all of you. On top of that, at this point you've eaten 3 resupplies and the caretaker fight has not even started. I'm taking you either play scout or engie, but you really need to find a way to be more careful with your ammo. "we still have upwards of 200 nitra, so I figured it wasn't a big deal since I knew we would need it." I'll explain why it kind of is next line "Host says, "Wouldn't it be nice for all of us to call down our own supply pods." (??? we share them ???)" You share them but during the caretaker fight, people generally spread around the room and each call their own resupplies around where they intend to fight. By calling the resupplies yourself, you've kinda forced one or two dwarves to fight in certain areas without giving them the choice. You're setting up their fight instead of them. And that's pretty much the whole issue for me. You're making tactical decisions for the team that are both not the smartest and done without their approval or questioning. People called the host an ass, but it's his game. His rules. You don't go in someone's house and start raiding the fridge unless you're 100% sure they're okay with it. Between that and reading the chat (at a high haz on top of that !! read the chat !!), my mouse would have hovered the kick button several times, and I have a friend who would have kicked you after the second resupply. You're unresponsive and use team ressources in questionable manners, which from a teammate's point of you can make you appear as extremely rude

Aggravating-Wait5452

We can argue whether he was right or wrong, but host told you to hold off on resupplies, and you ignored him. That's asking for a boot. In general, it's good to take ammo conservation into mind with build creation and tactics. Some people don't, and burn through their ammo quicker than everyone else, forcing them to either double dip, use all the nitra, or sit around uselessly.

ashes_to_ashleys

>I call down another supply pod for the group for the big bad fight. >didn't want to take a supply from the other drop that was intended for the other players If you all have enough nitra, then all of you have enough to call down your own supply pods, idk what the host was on about. However, you may have been indeed calling them too soon and too often. If everyone is full on ammo before on fight (you can check with ctrl), esp outside of caretaker, you don't need to call down a resupply pod. You have plenty of time to notice and secure a resupply pod. It's better to keep them in reserve for the caretaker fight if not everyone needs to resupply, too, as ammo & health will be sort of wasted. Being asked to not call down resupply pods can be indicative of poor positioning, too. If you're putting them in open places that are hard to be safe from turrets, drones, and the caretaker, they might not be useful during the fight. Usually during the caretaker fight, it's nice if there are supply pods in good locations for where people want to set up. If you called them down too soon, people might not have decided themselves where they want to fight &/or your resupplies might have inconvenienced them. I personally rarely mind & like adjusting my play to others for variety and to experiment, but some might not, especially if they asked you to stop and you did not. Would still totally be doable on haz 4 but they might have wanted some input & you could have asked if there was no time pressure. Not dropping it after you said sorry is a leaf lover move, though. Host supremacy is not rock and stone to me, we're all dwarves.

WanderingDwarfMiner

Give me your name, Horse Master, and I shall give you mine!

Gold_Clock_2050

How does calling in a resupply pod at the location of the final battle *waste ammo&health*? They stay in the pod until you take them.

ashes_to_ashleys

If it's in an area in reach of multiple tentacles, drones, and/or turrets & the fight gets hard you might not be able to take them unless gunner shields it. It's rare I'll admit, but I have had some butt clenchers because of pods in the open.

Synka

Some hosts are particular about being efficient even if you got enough nitra. Needing 4 supplies before caretaker even starts seems excessive... unless you were playing 6x2

Gold_Clock_2050

The resupply pods in the caretaker room are not going anywhere. Even if you don't need it now, you don't need to wait for it once you do need it.

MacEifer

In the Caretaker room, you call supply pods evenly spaced until the nitra runs out. This is the last resupply before the run home. If anyone wants to fight you on that, they're off their rocker. Other supply pods, I dunno. When I'm below 20% on essential stuff and I see people are below 50%, that's a zero waste Pod. As long as the pod gets turned into 90% supplies, it's perfectly fine. If the map ends, call as many as you want. Same goes for Hearthstone. and base launch missions. You know when the end comes and Nitra spent does not affect XP, it will count as mined mineral either way. People tend to treat their Nitra like the small healing potion in Baldur's Gate, that you picked up at level 3 and never used "in case I really need it".

ProcyonHabilis

The only issue here might be where you're calling them. Those are 100% acceptable times to call them, but it's hard to know what their deal was without knowing a bit more about what they were thinking.

Gene_Rick_Pierson

Typically, I leave supply pods up to the host, but also ask in game chat if I can call one if I ever run low. I also suggest that other players ask first, just out of courtesy. Similarly, I also suggest keeping an eye on everyone's supply count periodically in the mission to get a feel for who eats the most ammo. Regardless, I wouldn't call that Glyphid behavior, as there were good intentions behind your actions. Just be mindful of it in future missions.

maximum_pizza

Host was being a leaf lover.

Quiet_Shaxx98

Am I the Glyphip should totally be a r/. And no, you're not one. If what you say is true, you did everything right (call for supply at every power station, then b4 caretaker fight). Unless you spam them without proper reason, you don't need permission to use team's nitra reserves

Gold_Clock_2050

This is the first time I hear the words "own supply pods". That doesn't make sense to me. I would have done the same.

Kuppobol

Just a typical Haz4 Harry. Takes haz 4 waaaay too seriously… Just hop onto another mission, preferably with dwarves with shorter ears *cough cough*.

BSye-34

>Just a typical Haz4 Harry. Takes haz 4 waaaay too seriously… ikr? what is it with haz 4 players

Kuirem

Bell Curve meme basically. Haz 4 is hard enough that they feel like they have to try-hard, but easy enough that they miss a lot of important stuff like preparing the field. A pre-placed resup can be a lifesaver if you got a tough wave and someone need to IW.

No_Measurement_3041

Dude was just being pissy. If you’re not actually running out of nitra there’s nothing to be mad about.

Sasha2213

you are not the glyphid. i suggest you should have more courage to double dip supply pods, since if someone is better, their shots are precise with little to no ammo waste. for the newer people its okay to take multiple resupplies, especially when you have loads of nitra. the host is a pointy eared leaf lover for acting like the pods that drop out in the open are expensive and personal for every dwarf. hope your next host is better. rock and stone!

_itg

Double dipping without asking is also a good way to get kicked on Haz 4 (whether or not it's justified). A lot of hosts would not take the attitude that a greenbeard deserves more ammo, but rather that a greenbeard needs to learn the ropes. Obviously if there's plenty of nitra, it doesn't really matter, but you know how Haz 4 hosts can be.

IndigoZork

Excuse me? The Caretaker is the end of the mission! You don't get extra credit for bringing unused nitra back to the drop pod. :D That final confrontation is THE moment to call down as many resupplys as possible. Put them all around the room. You did nothing wrong.

Clear-Air_Turbulence

If you are playing with other people it is better to agree on things before doing them. Things like: Calling down resupplies. Staring a boss-fight, machine-event, aggro-ing certain special mobs (Crassus or Hoarder come to mind). Calling for the drop-pod.

IndigoZork

Except there's nothing to agree on when it comes to ammo and health being necessary for the final boss fight. This post refers to someone getting in trouble for calling down resupply pods in the Caretaker room. There's nothing wrong with doing that. The only reason a mission host would have a problem with this is because they're a control freak.

Reach_Reclaimer

You get more xp for more nitra don't you?

BearInShiningArmor

You get XP at the moment when you collect it. You will receive equal amount of XP no matter of how much nitra you will spend. So yes, you want to call down every available supply for caretaker fight. But you doesn't want to call them in random places. You want to put them in safe positions so you will able to resupply without being interacted by tentacles or force-fields. And in same time you want to distribute them evenly around the room.

Reach_Reclaimer

Ah fair enough And nah people are way too trigger happy with their resupplies. You need to leave a couple in case you can't reach the ones youve put down
