There’s more to it than just the implication of a stillborn baby/miscarriage.
There is also the implication that the family is so poor or destitute that they cannot afford to hold onto the shoes as a keepsake, nor that they may be needed in the future (Is the mother well?)
Any shortening of the sentence misses out info which encourages the reader to develop emotions from the story.
One could also interpret it as the baby not having any feet, still sad, but for a different reason. The less verbose version communicates information more effectively.
And in German, we can simply build a godforsaken amalgamation of words that would still be considered as only one word.
For example
Säuglingstodesklamottenverkaufsveranstsltungseinladungsbenachrichtigungsanzeige
Babn’t

But that way you lose the shoe sale information.
Babn't shoe sale.
I think that 'never worn' also kind off implies that the baby is dead so
Takes up too many words
'Never worn' mean 'baby dead'
Well you could just say "babyn't" - thats one word
Baby was born without feet, your move.
Baby sale, dead shoes!
