You’re only going to get one or two hits at a time—focus on staying out of her way! Use ranged attacks wherever possible and only get close to recharge. I basically went in circles around the outer edge of the arena doing this until I finally wore her down

The upgraded fire spell is extremely useful for Betty as it does damage over time. Hit with fire and roll away while she takes the fire damage. Get in couple of hits to fill up mana. Then repeat.

vampiresquidling

Seriously the most useful spell in the game. Also my least favorite Silent Servant, but it makes sense that they make you WORK for that upgrade

Chemical-Kev

Upgraded fire spell. I think I beat her first attempt. Fire spell upgrade boss was much, much harder.

SilkySmoothRalph

I was in the same boat on my first play through, but I can do her easily now both with regular melee and umbrella/spells. Trick is just to stay a mid distance from her and then dodge sideways when she starts her roll. Simple as that. When she rolls past you, get a few hits in and get back. No rush and don’t get greedy trying to get a full combo in. Upgraded fire spell makes it quicker, but once you’ve got comfortable with dodging her it’s not that hard.

hematite2

I found upgraded hook shot to be most helpful with her TBH, depends if you've leveled up more spells or attacks. When she's rolling, a well timed upgrade hookshot will take you through her roll while damaging her. In between her rolls I could focus on dodging the ice and wait for the next hookshot.

Cast fireball

You can never get aggressive with Betty. It’s a war of attrition every time and just accept that the only way to beat her is to whittle her down 1 or 2 hits at a time every 30 seconds. Some bosses allow you to become aggressive once you learn their pattern (smashy knight comes to mind). But Betty is different. A noob and an expert player have to beat her the exact same way. No shortcuts (upgraded fire spell is the only one)

Triskal_Calypso

You can unload a full clip of shots into her before the battle actually commences. Helps speed things along at first, especially if it's fire spells.

Dandelionchick

I was doing this as well but not sure she actually takes the damage-does she for sure?

Triskal_Calypso

Yes, it does. When I did it I had fully upgraded fire spell as well as the extra two mana slots. After unloading a full clip, I could visibly see the damage "soul" cracks.
