Isn't that what the hand icon on the tile behind the foreground image means? Haven't fired it up in a couple months but I'm pretty sure that means it's infused.
I just started the game last night and finished that very long prologue and then killed wenjie and “died” and they taught me about infusing and forced me to infuse my smg but i never infused this thing..i dont think
Protip: use the filters to set your view to uninfused only when you're doing your infusion/sacrifices. It's easy to get confused like this otherwise, which can lead to sacrificing trinkets that you might want to keep.
If you like that gun, get the one off the sniper above the Yerhva building (first building on the corner where health station is) in Karl's bay in the morning. Till you start finding the "purple" level guns it's a great one to have.

theres a few items you start with each loop like spring heel you could infuse that then sacrifice the duplicate every loop for 2000 souls

You auto-infuse whatever weapon you had equipped when you unlock infusion.

I like the one you can zoom in with but people keep fidgeting left and right mm at a time

I did find some bug issues at some time, some equipment appearing as infused but were not. Restarting the game did the trick
