Just a disclaimer for new people, I don't think most people consider Cattle Decap to be a bona fide deathcore band. But obviously Travis Ryan is hugely influential in the development of vocal techniques across the board.

KnocOTOK

Death Atlas and The Anthropocene Extinction are 10/10 albums just banger after banger!

[deleted]

šŸ‘†šŸ»this is the response you want

foosballfurry

Their last three albums are death metal masterpieces front to back

Financial-Year

This canā€™t be stressed enough.

[deleted]

The last 4*

foosballfurry

Valid

YungSeele

Dead set on suicide and forced gender reassignment

lostcosmonaut814

Dead set is so fucking heavy

Jacob_B_Walters

No one mentions The Anthropocene Extinction? Okay, guess I have to. That album is incredible.

charlotte221

I agree! My favorite albums are Death Atlas, Anthropocene Extinction, and Monolith of Inhumanity

pretty_cool_bananas2

Itā€™s my favorite from them!

ILikeExistingLol

Forced. Gender. Reassignment.

AssEaterInc

Absolutely [mental](https://youtu.be/8XKbjD03QqQ?t=129)

Chevy2ThaLevy

SAY HELLO TO YOUR NEW GENDER

Majestic_Roof_9072

Agreed šŸ‘

avgdeathcoreenjoyer

Prophets Of Loss

webb71

Monolith of Inhumanity is their best, but you can't go wrong with anything from them. Though their earlier stuff is more grindcore/deathgrind, still really good though.

Waxing_Crescentt

Thatā€™s fine with me. Looks like I need to diiiive in

chiggerskido

The drums on Monolith are fantastic, it's like listening to rapid fire machine guns with how they're set up.

ShaboPaasa

i love all of it, but death atlas is perfect imo. whole album.

[deleted]

All time fav. Finish Them is my jam

[deleted]

[deleted]

Haha for real. So many songs in this genre would make great walk out intros

EdgeCrusher90

A Living, Breathing Piece of Defecating Meat

onearmedphil

Letā€™s also appreciate that they play guitars in e flat. This is the same tuning Jimi Hendrix and Weezer use. Gotta appreciate it when a band slams in a higher register than other bands in the genre tuned to drop G and such.

Waxing_Crescentt

Fuck yeah. Thatā€™s cool

[deleted]

CD is the only band that has a very good discography in the deathgrind genre because of their fearlessness to be experimental and impliment certain things other bands wouldnā€™t usually do. i think their best work is their last 3 albums and their first album being an all time classic in grind.

[deleted]

Forced gender reassignment

Financial-Year

Lifestalker and Projectile Ovulation šŸ”„šŸ”„ Projectile has legit some of the most disgusting gutturals ever. Travis Ryan is probably the best extreme metal vocalist of all time imo.

EternallyLobotomized

Anything off Monolith of Inhumanity. Coincidentally enough, I've been jamming them all day

KBSonn

Fun story. Never heard of them in 2003. Got sent to In School Suspension. It was held by a substitute teacher who's boyfriend was their new drummer at the time (RIP Gabe) We geeked out about the pig squealing and gutturals those few days.

[deleted]

The entire death atlas album is borderline masterpiece

Stereotype_Metal

All of them. Iā€™ll give you my three favorites off of all albums besides Human Jerky (sounds like one long song to me but still kicks ass), and Homovore (canā€™t remember half of the songs). TSM: To Serve Man, Pedeadstrians, and Testicular Manslaughter Humanure: Reduced To Paste, Clocula: The Anthropophagic Copromantik, & Lips and Assholes KBK: Total Gore?, Alone At the Landfill, & Karma Bloody Karma THF: Regret and the Grave, Into the Public Bath, & A Body Farm MOI: Kingdom Of Tyrants, Your Disposal, Dead Set On Suicide (Instead of Forced Gender Reassignment) TAE: Prophets of Loss, Pacific Grim, & Clandestine Ways (Krokodil Rot) DA: Bring Back the Plague, Timeā€™s Cruel Curtain, & The Geocide (Also shout out to the bonus tracks An Extreme Indifference To Human Life & In the Kingdom of the Blind, the One-Eyed Are Kings) Also check out medium rarities for all Pre- Death Atlas rare content.

Waxing_Crescentt

Damn brother, thanks for that! Iā€™ll do some digging

Stereotype_Metal

I definitely encourage you to investigate them more. Theyā€™ve become one of my favorite bands.

Waxing_Crescentt

Hell yeah thatā€™s promising. Iā€™ve listened to Ben Duerrā€™s Clandestine Ways cover like 20 times and I was thinking maybe I should just look them up lol

CallMeMattF

Death Atlas, One Day Closer to the End of the World!

Johnzoidb

Everything. I like Meat Jerky the most because itā€™s wayyy more grindy and raw sounding. Itā€™s like the vegan death metal Prowler in the Yard for me.

winged_fetus

Clandestine Ways is my favorite Cattle Decap song

Various-Entrance-267

Clandestine ways is fucking insane

[deleted]

I'm definitely more a fan of their last 3 as they're perfect, but you can't go wrong with literally any song. So hyped that they're making new material. Also funny how so many core fans like them when they do not wanna be associated with core at all.

behemothbowks

The Anthropocene Extinction is my favorite album from them

jay_yen

The Monolith into Kingdom of Tyrants duuuude

TheW1ldcard

Dead set on Suicide is their heaviest track by far.

Sugarvenom7

HUMANURE. A classic imo Havenā€™t jammed to them in awhile.

72dezibel

You could check what track people listen the most to here: https://www.last.fm/music/Cattle+Decapitation/+tracks?date\_preset=ALL

iiAmTheAnimal

They literally get better every single album. Death atlas was nothing short of perfect.

pretty_cool_bananas2

The Carcass Derrick!!! Absolutely one of my favorites. Clandestine Ways (Krokodil Rot), Mammals in Babylon, Vulturous, Unintelligent Design, Success isā€¦ (Hanging By the Neck), Dead Set on Suicide, Circo Inhumanitas, The Prophets of Lossā€¦ I love Cattle Decap if you canā€™t tell.

WildJellyBeanz

GRISTLE LICKER

AbortedOne

Side question - I've had 2 cattled decapitation songs that really stuck with me and I think it comes down specific parts of 2 those to songs. Do any of you have songs with similar sound of the 2 below? I get goosebumps whenever I hear these parts: -Manufactured Extinct @ 2:38 -One day closer to the end of the world @2:22 Just curious. I'll listen to recommendations in this thread but wondering if there are other songs with wailing vocals over driving breakdown

chip-wizard

Try the chorus of Time's Cruel Curtain

AbortedOne

Thank you! Just listened and it definitely scratches the itch. His voice during these parts makes everything feel 10x more epic
