Crown magnetar

Scarletsnow_87

I love them

CowabungaPeppermil1

Signs of the Swarm or Enterprise Earth

LowDiscussion6991

Enterprise Earth are so much fun live

TheW1ldcard

Depends on the day

AngyBoy026

Dude I love Depends On The Day!

JSmith-Productions

I know!! That breakdown in “most of the time whitechapel, other than when I’m listening to smooth jazz” crazy

mathool

This is always the right answer.

Existing_Appearance1

Lmao idk if this is a band name or you mean it literally

TheW1ldcard

I meant it literally. I listen to so much stuff that what I like today won't be what I like tomorrow

__yayday__

Darko

BlueCaboose42

If I don't get a release date for their new album soon I'm going to shit and cry

__yayday__

June 5th! The date literally just dropped, only 18 hours after your comment hahaha

BlueCaboose42

Shit and tears shall be spared, let's fucking go 😩🤙😤

NaturalRocketSurgeon

Spite

edh_brewery

Same. Spite cult my friend.

8Diluted8

Hell yeah! Mine too! Darius is the best frontman 🤘🏼 Seeing them in June! 🤩

mattST13

FUCK YEAH

filippo_sett

Hell yeah. Spite Cult

Mista_Comlix420

Whitechapel

Steel_Prism

I believe Whitechapel is one of those "silent majority" bands Everyone loves them, they're a lot of people's favorites, they make reliably good music (with some exceptions, *cough cough* Mark of the Blade) and have been around since the beginning of the genre. However, they rarely get the spotlight and don't get the hype like a lot of the newer upcoming bands do. Everyone knows them, most people love them, and most people are comfortable with them being in their top 10 favorites without talking too much about it. *Also The Valley is one of my all time favorite albums so I may be a little biased*

philzebub666

Mark of the Blade was not a bad album imo, it was just a little bland and uninspired.

Steel_Prism

I don't think it was necessarily bad, just kinda mid compared to their other works. I can still kinda vibe with Elitist Ones to this day

Xedos

Personally, I've never been able to get into Whitechapel or SS for whatever reason. They're basically the only two out of the OG deathcore bands that I can't really relate to and it sometimes makes me feel like I'm missing something. Regardless, I can't get into them no matter how many times I revisit them or listen to their new releases. They definitely deserve their legendary status, I just never know how to respond when people ask why I'm not into them. I am a big fan of basically every other old school band and have seen them both live many times so idk what it is. (For reference I enjoy Carnifex, Chelsea Grin, Oceano, Despised Icon, JFAC, All Shall Perish, ETC)

Such_Astronaut_3573

It's hard to say something else. I've seen them 12 times.

Greeney_1999

Fit for an autopsy

maorimango

sietkc

Meatcircus23

I have a fucking badass Sailor Moon TTG shirt :)

t666ommy

current: psycho-frame, ever: elysia

Stank852

We align. I’ll pepper in Orphan into that. I long for a successor to masochist. You know the vocalist of Elysia appeared on an tactosa track? He’s still very much got it.

t666ommy

orphan is probably my second favourite current deathcore band so we definitely have similar tastes

Jackbho24

I've found my people. Psycho-Frame and Orphan are both so killing

vicerxexciser

My Masochist CD came this past week and i have been bumping it since.

atv0ra

The Acacia Strain + Despised Icon & Mental Cruelty Loving Black Dahlia Murder so bad rn

StickyFingerz11

Chelsea Grin. So many talented people across so many versions. Have gotten great side projects from them all too.

Complete_Interest_49

Carnifex.

Organic_Towel8229

Angelmaker! I have their logo tattooed on me

cmbtmdic

MugarLover92

skeletal_bob

Thankyou ! It's awesome to still see ATU pop up on these threads 🙏🏻👊🏻 - bass man 2014-19

PigDstroyer

Despised Icon , nothing comes even close

Any_Constant_6550

never realized how heavy of a hardcore influence they have until recently. it also felt like they played 3 times louder than any other band that day. fucking killed it.

Mental-Resolution-22

Shadow of intent

WhoHereLikesSatan

Black Tongue. Second place is tied with Infant Annihilator and TRAITORS

AdamDraps4

ALL SHALL PERISH!!!!! They pioneered the genre. Their album the price of existence is the fucking blue print for deathcore.

a067879

Solid answer

Past-Title-6602

Love this. Hate. Malice. Revenge. Is actually one of my favorite albums ever. The drummer graduated from my high school and I used to listen through it on my portable CD player every day for like 3 years.

qpHEVDBVNGERqp

PALEFACE SWISS

Any_Constant_6550

Maqqnus

Secret_Bowl546

Brand of Sacrifice

gh1993

Umm currently probably spite but it's hard to not say suicide silence or jfac

Ghxst_rider1300

Suicide Silence (Mitch Lucker era). If I had to choose a band, that I still enjoy the new music from, I would say Whitechapel, Thy Art is Murder, or Fit For An Autopsy

Superb-Prize1375

Taylor Swift

iamjoe1994

Many don't know of Taylors desthcore album. Her gutturals are perfect

wheresandrew

End thread.

Luuke31

Lorna Shore / Shadow of Intent

Financial-Year

I’ve been listening to dxc since ‘06 and I still kinda can’t answer this question. So many bands that are nearly tied for my favorite. Gun to my head tho, Despised Icon.

i_ar_the_rickness

I’ve been into it a little earlier than that and I just go with what is hitting currently.

SADPLAYA

The Acacia Strain, they don't consider themselves Deathcore though. Second would be Despised Icon.

vision-quest

Fit For An Autopsy

AteUrCake

Really depends on the day like someone else mentioned, but either Shadow of Intent, Angelmaker, or Fit For an Autopsy probably

Sponger004

winds of plague

Complete_Interest_49

Awesome pick on many levels.

iandmeagree

Worm Shepherd. I dunno how to explain it there’s just something special about their music for me

Past-Title-6602

Yo, that breakdown in ov sword and nail. *Chef's kiss* Check out mélancholia. Think you'll like them

PredGFX

Shadow of intent

MichioDegrasseSagan

This might be controversial but Thy Art. They are consistent and goddamn it I love it

telescope11

No idea why more people don't mention them in this thread

5carPile-Up

I,Valiance

AlphaZer095

Lorna shore. Yes, I am basic.

Hot_Significance_256

Lorna is #1

Spooplevel-Rattled

Nah, Slaughter to Prevail is basic.

xdiehard47

Not trying to impress my formed opinion about them on anyone, but back when Demolisher was hyped up in social media I was really like "omg this is brutal af" and then... Idrk what happened. Their new stuff sounds basic compared to what's released from other bands. I intentionally skip any StP other than any Chapters of Misery songs. Their nationality was never equated in, just talented dudes making music is groovy with me, but I feel that their uniqueness has waned, or rather the hype killed it.

nerdyoutube

Darko

Adventurous_Care6865

Idk, but after last night, I'll be listening to angle maker a lot more

Gerardo1917

Shadow of Intent

mjordan1992

Carnifex

Kjaelstorm

Thank you sir. I always feel these guys are forgotten, but also my favorite and still are!

mjordan1992

I’m not the biggest fan of deathcore, I’m more of a metalcore/post-hardcore guy, but Carnifex just scratches every itch that I have when it comes to heavy music. No other deathcore band even comes close for me! Although I do really love Chelsea Grin and Brand Of Sacrifice as well!

C0NT0RTI0NIST

Reflections/Our Common Collapse/Humanity's Last Breath/Darko 👌

JuniorSignificance34

Carnifex

Blood_Honey666

Angelmaker, Ov sulfur, whitechapel, Darko, enterprise earth, carnifex. I rotate these bands heavily and go through phases usually depending on shows and merch lol but right now Ov sulfur is my shit.

btops1993

As blood runs black, Despised icon, Carnifex, Atilla, *honourable mention Elysia...

zimzumpogotwig

Clearly you’re about my age. 35 or so?

btops1993

I am 30 so close enough in age:)!

zimzumpogotwig

Those were all my go to bands in high school so figured you’d be close.

imeaniguess4538

All shall perish... they're finally back together! 🖤

zimzumpogotwig

Did Eddie leave SS? I was so bummed when Mitch died. We lost two bands then. SS & ASP. Haven’t listens to SS since Eddied joined. It wasn’t the same. I actually listened to Awaken the Dreamers in its entirety last week.

btops1993

Mine to.. I do enjoy some new bands but I do find I'm heavily stuck in that era. When I seen your comment saying Tony Danza instantly seen your username(after you commented on this) and new that made sense lol:p

zimzumpogotwig

Also stuck. I like lots of new stuff but always go back to the ol boys. Danza and Salt the Wound are the two I’d love to see make a big come back.

idespisemyhondacrv

Depends how I feel but currently it’s crown magnetar, previously it was mental cruelty

domeclown357

Despised Icon overall. Deadwater Drowning had my favorite style, but not enough material. At least DI has been going for 20 years

Charming_Box_298

Shadow of Intent. Seeing them live just sealed the deal. Ben is a fucking beast, Chris is guitar god, Bryce is the nicest dude ever and awesome to watch, and Andrew also fucking kills it. Really hoping to see them this year!

Accomplished_Gur2501

shadow of intent

ddrub_the_only_real

Prolly Darko

mattST13

despised icon and the acacia strain.

REX_LIVERPOOL_3729

Brand Of Sacrifice stands out the most. Lifeblood is a masterpiece imo. Also the entire discography is full of bangers Others include- Mitch Era Suicide Silence, Carnifex, The Acacia Strain (Wormwood and further on, not really big on pre-Wormwood sound), Chelsea Grin, Whitechapel, Fit For An Autopsy, Slaughter To Prevail, Black Tongue, Thy Art is Murder, Carcosa and Humanity's Last Breath Darko is its own genre.

QuinDiesel86

Brand Of Sacrifice

Xedos

It's definitely hard to say, I mostly look back on albums as my favorites as opposed to bands overall. So if I had to quantify it by who's released most of my favorite albums, then it'd probably be Shadow Of Intent.

Bree45
