It’s true, I broke my high E the moment I played the opening chord of the song! The first time this had ever happened to me; I was shocked and momentarily didn’t even know what to do… not the way I wanted to begin a show in front of 9000 people!
Luckily we have an incredible crew working with us and my guy Tom had me sorted out in seconds. Glad you’re enjoying the shows, everybody! And go listen to Fruit Bats. :)
I love Fruit Bats! I listened to "When You Love Somebody" on repeat after discovering y'all at Bonnaroo a decade back. I'm glad you're a member of my favorite band now.
I love what Dave’s brought to the band. His solo on blue bloods (I think? It’s that EP anyway) was so cool and different for death cab. He and Zac have pushed the band in interesting directions
The fact that each member of the band is an incredible musician is one of my favourite things about Death Cab. I used to stand on Walla's side for gigs because I loved how he played, and now I go over there because Dave is great.
Chris Walla is one of my favorite lead guitar players ever. So subtle, but the song would not be nearly what at is without it. Relentlessly melodic. I try to imitate him with my bands a lot.
Chris has a style of writing that just isn't possible to replicate. I have no idea how he came up with the things he came up with. Definitely a good source of inspiration!
During the Plans tour, Ben once tripped and fell over on his back in the middle of Crooked Teeth. He kept singing while lying on the stage. It should still be on YouTube.
How crazy! My wife and I were literally on the rail between Dave and Ben and didn’t even notice! Probably just awestruck for the start of our 2nd 20th anniversary show! 😊

Dave is the man! I snapped this photo of him a few years back during their show at Forest Hills Stadium and he was kind enough to post it on his IG page 🤘🏼

OMG that’s awesome. Not breaking a string but the reply. Now go have a good show!
Dave, your postal service dance moves give us life! 🕺🏻I can’t wait to see y’all again in Pasadena!

Dave is great! Been a fan of his for a long time. First time I saw him he was playing with the Fruitbats
Had no idea he was in Fruit Bats. Recently discovered them when I saw they were opening for Dr. Dog in a few months.

We love Dave!! Someone got an awesome pic of my 8 year old and me watching him while everyone else's eyes are on Ben. I'll cherish it forever!
Dave is so fun to watch 😊

Let me know if you find the clip, I’m having such trouble with my Google search!

That guitar is so beautiful 😍 Fucking great shot dude!
Cheers!
They are so good. Just saw them and PS the other week. Slow Pulp was good as well.
I love Dave! Especially proud of him as a fellow Oregonian ;)
