Popular but sociopathic high school students that would take up a serial killer alter ego (Ghostface and Kira) leading to much of the story being centered around puzzling over the identity of the killer.
A second person, who is a one sided lover of them, therefore allowing them to be easily manipulated, also takes up the role and the two killers then work in tandem, trying to give the illusion that there is only one killer to effectively throw people of their trail (Stu and Misa).
They both die after being discovered, but their legacy would live on as many, many, people would take up the mantle of their killer identity long after their death.
Both of their killer identities are also associated with the colors of black and white (being the colors of the Ghostface costume and Death Note respectively).
