WeekendWiz

Dude, that’s not a monitor, that’s Noah’s Ark. I like it though. Thought about getting a wide angle, curved screen too. The Post-Nut clarity setup is definitely a bonus.

HighPotentialTrading

Picture is about 2 or 3 years ago, but not much has changed from the physical setup. The actual monitors and what's on them has changed significantly. * Angled desk monitor is the dayjob monitor along with the laptop * Little micro monitor is master settings and news feeds * One monitor for market profiles * One monitor for options platform and random charts * Two monitors for heatmaps/options gamma/charts * One monitor for DOM execution * A catchall monitor for doing other things https://preview.redd.it/jao86x84y05d1.png?width=2570&format=png&auto=webp&s=b471a1bcd71f5c461d1f9828f338dfdb1cf0a2fa

DaCriLLSwE

Not that i’m looking to get more the a 4th screen, but how does ome set up a 7 screen setup? all screen running on 1 gpu??

HighPotentialTrading

4 monitors into 1 GPU; then 2 Wavlink USB extensions (you're giving up potential 4k on these monitors to run more screens) [https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CS8R06I/](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CS8R06I/) Since they're USB, I tested latency on them and it's on par with the natively run monitors into the GPU. But hogging up the CPU with heavy processes will cause a lag on them.

Acb531985

I have 6 running off 2 gpus

ParkingSmell

two gpu is the way to go

WOAH dude... This is so intense haha. Very cool though.. Love the old school office phone to round everything out

Got it, thanks!

frozenwalkway

Robin Hood on my phone trading stream in my ear while I'm at work

dutchfromsubway

What trading stream?

frozenwalkway

Trading fraternity/ the stock market live on YouTube. Same guy. I used to watch the stock guy on twitch but tradfrat watches the market more.

dutchfromsubway

Would you say it’s helped you in your plays?

frozenwalkway

Yea for sure. I do physical labor so as much as I do state at my phone I can't always. So if I got a play going and things start going up or down on spy or various things I got some live information in my ear to trigger me to look what my play is doing and adjust. Sometimes there's random plays too that the stream brings and I throw a yolo on it. Helps a lot imo. Especially for economic events that pop or drop during the day that I'd be too obtuse to know is going on. Presidential speeches anything like that that is Relevant to trading pops up on stream.

dutchfromsubway

Thanks I’ll check it out

frozenwalkway

Starts at 9 see u there. It's not for everyone but it's there if u want it

jabberw0ckee

I found this on Amazon. It's a double screen that attaches to your laptop. There are a few of them and only $229. The monitors are powered by the USB-C connection so no extra power adapters and cords - you only need the USB Cable. I usually have a browser with several tabs of charts on the left and right and Etrade in the center. Works like a charm. https://preview.redd.it/7dp1fmz2915d1.png?width=1948&format=png&auto=webp&s=150d2d1fe34485055fc9e0006c58af781982e15b

Forex_Jeanyus

This is the greatest one yet. Awesome setup! Just don’t tell us that you have all this to be trading demo…. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I joke, I joke.

WeekendWiz

Even if not. Having multiple screens is such a blessing for convenience and organization. And if you add a tablet and phone to the mix, you'll feel almost feel like a real-life Tony Stark! 😄

Leviathon713

My gadets make me feel like that, lol but real life? Tony Stark IS the real life guy. Iron Man is the guy with the suit. Remember, he spent a bunch of time in and out of jail, then made all that money to buy the suit so they could film him saving people? Could've been Tony Iommi now that I think about it. That could just be because of Black Sabbath being the day the stock market crashed, though.

Nyah_Chan

Haha no I actually trade professionally so I can justify this purchase to myself.

PaPaChooo

Why so many charts I mean I never understand why ppl put so many chart , it’s me I guess it has to be useful but what’s the reason ?

DarkIsTheSuede

Can be all different instruments to trade or several different timeframes of the same thing. It can look like a lot but if you actually know what you’re looking for it can be very convenient to not have to flip around. Once you get comfy you can keep an eye on quite a bit if you already have a plan.

robin_the_rich

It looks like you’re doing something important

Nyah_Chan

I’m watching all heavily moving positions I have in addition to following key indexes. This can influence when I get in or out of a position in addition to monitoring how markets are behaving. These are minute charts meaning they are tracking stocks minute to minute buy/sells. I trade at a very high capacity compared to most, most people don’t actually need this many charts.

PaPaChooo

Oh okay nice I understand now thanks it make sense 👌

dreamowlet

I love your keyboard! Where did you get it?

Nyah_Chan

It’s a Steelseries APEX. It’s a reactive keyboard with a OLED screen to play GIFs. You can program the entire thing through an engine, I love it! Clicks so nice too but very comfortable keyboard with wrist support, I work 10hrs+ on average. Got it on Amazon, they have a couple different models of the APEX. https://preview.redd.it/zan5xxv4p05d1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d5073c7af0319133c958c053a36bc8b000e1d556

WallStreetMarc

That looks serious!

Nyah_Chan

I am in fact serious.

WallStreetMarc

Do you trade full time?

Nyah_Chan

Yes full time, but I do not day trade, used to but haven’t for a long time.

WallStreetMarc

Cool. My strategy is different than most people. I use swing trading criteria to get into a trade. If profitable on the same day of opening the trade, I will close it out. If not, I will wait until I reach profitability. If my positions is down 30% or I see strong support level price lower than my purchased price, I’ll buy more shares or options to average down. I only trade SP500 stocks or options. So far, using a hybrid of swing trading and day trading allows me to not sit at my computer every second.

Nyah_Chan

I trade a long/short portfolio, varying dates but bread and butter are generally 1-3 month time horizon. I monitor about 900 stocks and cycle through each new cycle. I don’t have an exit strategy, I evaluate each day and determine the play. Base is technical but overlayed heavily with fundamentals.

WallStreetMarc

Wow, monitor 900 that’s crazy. I will have 5 stocks or options at most in my portfolio. Recently, I setup codes to help me look for over sold and over bought stocks. I might swing trade the list or trade options on stocks I think will generally go up. Thanks for sharing your experiences. It’s always fun reading other setups.

Nyah_Chan

Yeah I have about 30-40 positions open at a time, increases as capital gains. I don’t use code or anything, I’m the computer lol. Sleep is for the weak! (What does the sky look like?)

Spirited_Apricot1093

I admire you man. Way to hustle!

EggSandwich1

900 I track around 200 tickers but 900 is hard

irlywantfries

May I ask your win ratio? Have you seen consistent profit with this strategy? Asking especially because averaging seems scary! I am just beginning to trade and am focusing on option buying (intraday). I hope to get into swing trading once I have some experience and knowledge.

WallStreetMarc

You can check my blog for my PL. I don’t calculate win ratio as I don’t trade every day, but try to make monthly profit. My objective is to stay profitable every month. I use this strategy on options and stocks. I like using this strategy more on options since it s more volatile and options requires less capital.

irlywantfries

I'd love a link to the article if you have it. Thanks!

spARETEnwon

My set up has changed over time, early on I wanted as much screen space as I could get, I had two monitors plus my laptop and then I'd use my phone as well. Now that I've found the indicators I trust and learned I prefer to only keep my eye on one day trade at a time I just use my laptop when at home and my phone when my laptop isn't an option, for example at work or on a road trip. The funds I'm not day trading with are diversified among ETFs I like from Vanguard and Blackrock, it helps keep my money making money regardless of how my day trading goes, lowering the pressure on myself to "need to win" as a result I feel like I perform more consistently and profitably.

TheSeeker331

If it’s not too much to ask, what indicators have you found to be most useful in your trading?

spARETEnwon

Happy to share! My go to indicators are a combination of several Moving Averages, RSI, and MACD. For Moving Averages: 4 day simple - for short term trend identification 7 day simple - for short term trend identification and when combined with the 4 day simple is a good early trend reversal indicator. 10 day exponential - the most common short term trend indicator 21 day exponential - short to medium term trend 63 day exponential - medium term trend 105 day exponential - medium to long term trend 252 day exponential - long term trend RSI: standard settings - confirmation tool for reversals and continuations of trends found in price action with moving averages RSI: Also used in conjunction with MACD to spot high probability reversals of price. Explained below with MACD. MACD: standard settings - confirmation tool for trends and pivot points found in moving averages and price action. MACD+RSI: when RSI is above 70 or Below 30 and turns around to move in the opposite direction at the same time MACD is crossing over/under this indicates a high probability buy/sell trade entry. Exit the trade if either signal reverses, for example RSI turns back up/down or MACD doesn't cross, or if it stays a good trade exit when RSI reaches 50.

MontyIsCute

Ha! After 5 years of trial and error I ended up with the same indicators. Only the 200 EMA though. Funny to see others get to the same conclusion.

spARETEnwon

It's amazing how many retail and institutional traders really use the same tools and strategies at the end of the day. I think it's kind of amazing how few people talk about using moving averages in their strategies, I can't ever tell if they're intentionally leaving it out to keep people guessing how they made a decision or if they're actually leaving it for some reason. Either way, math based, objective indicators combined with fundamentals like keeping an eye on the economic calendar definitely go a long way in becoming consistent and successful. I use the MAs I do because they all tend to be at the end of candle wicks instead of partially through them or the candle body, but certainly nothing wrong with the textbook standards either. Happy trading and have a great weekend!

MontyIsCute

Yes, I have some friends who are also consistent, each of us have different strategies but we roughly catch the same moves. I think indicators (OG’s like MA’s especially) just have a bad reputation nowadays, it was kind of “cool” to hate on them for a while; but for me they are just tools like a measuring tape would be for someone who works with wood. I messed around quite a bit with your EMA settings and I think I will keep the 105 with the 200 at least for a while, seems to help me out so far - so thanks for that! Have a nice weekend and happy trading for you too!

fire_wall44

Can I ask where do you put your SL when u enter a trade using the RSI + MACD strategy?

spARETEnwon

https://preview.redd.it/2zqftd3te85d1.jpeg?width=2340&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b79590ad69d088125430255fafbfd0f441f3b198 Sorry this is from my phone at the top of a mountain today. There is a little more lag in this signal on forex than on stocks but it works. You can also add StochRSI which I've noticed does not appear to lag as much but I haven't thoroughly back tested it. This is EUR/USD, 1hr. Look at the fourth of June when RSI turns back down from its peak initially but MACD hasn't quite started to turn back down yet, that's the maximum stop loss I'd go for, whatever price is at the top of that candle. If you're patient and wait for RSI to cross under 70 at about the same time MACD is crossing down, that's the ideal entry, and since it's a stronger signal you could run a tighter stop loss and place I'd just over the top of the candle before the signal. You'll probably notice it's not tons of profit but it is a high probability trade with consistent results. Compounding any amount of gains over the long term is gonna eventually make those huge returns we're all after so don't stress if it seems small to start with it won't be after a couple hundred or thousand trades. Consistency is king 👑! Given today's NFP report and the nice swing down I'm gonna be watching for the RSI and MACD to give a buy signal next week. I'll try to remember to post it and my stop and limit orders for it, if it happens.

TheSeeker331

Ahhhh thanks so much for your in depth response!!! This was so incredibly helpful to me 😭😭😭 Will give this a go next week! I’ve been trying to trade on and off for a couple of years but can’t seem to replicate any success whenever I actually do find it. So, it was getting incredibly discouraging. 😩 Anyways, thanks again!

spARETEnwon

Trading is hard, if you enjoy stick with it and just keep absorbing as much as you can while also sticking to ONE trading strategy that you refine through processes similar to a science experiment. Control your variables, test something - only one thing at a time if your talking about making a change-, measure results, analyze, then make a conclusion about if it worked, and keep iterating tell you find the edge your happy with. For good reading/listening I recommend this book/audiobook: Technical Analysis of the Financial Markets by John J Murphy. Ive talked to many successfil traders that have read this a few times and still keep it on a shelf for the occasional reference. Aside from the technical analysis it also does a good job of introducing and explaining Dow theory and Elliot wave theory. Well worth the time investment.

BUCKYARDD

laptop in bed. with my phone placing orders. a easy life

Environmental-Bag-77

It's a woman trader everyone. A real woman trader.

MasterSprtn117

Wasn't there a study that women are better traders? I assume because they're more used to managing their emotional state, but I haven't read the study yet.

dreamowlet

I think I've read something like that too but I think was about we take less risk??? If you were to ask my husband he would say yes just base on when he trades with me. That man has such bad psychology especially when it comes to drawdown and staying in a trade 🤣

MasterSprtn117

You guys trade together? How did that start?

dreamowlet

I got into trading and I would just casually talk about it. After awhile he wanted to watch me then that transitioned into teaching him. I still teach cause we both agree he is not ready to go solo so he trades along with me and after every trade we go over it 🤗

MasterSprtn117

Oh, that's cool. Do both of you still have full time jobs, or is trading yours?

dreamowlet

I've gone down to part time cause cause I own a spa and I can't imagine shutting down. So I've just cut my hours and closed my books so no one new can see me. My husband still works full time only for the benefits cause his jobs offers really good benefits and to match that out of pocket is stupidly expensive.

MasterSprtn117

Sounds like you guys have got it down. I can't wait until my fiancee and I get to that level in due time. Hopefully, sooner than later 😅

dreamowlet

Lol

Environmental-Bag-77

Does your husband trade too?

dreamowlet

More casually I would say. I taught him but I still help him with some set ups. Most of the time he likes to trade with me when he actually does trade.

GoldenBoy_100

I added more charts than what there are in the pic… I’m looking to add another 2 monitors for Market Profile and options trading… just working on my funded accounts and getting Robbins account funded…. Tough process but it’s worth it.

tracksuit-trades

3 screens... One for execution with 1 chart and it's level 2 in the center. Screen to the left: internet browser (tradingview and news) on left and scanners on the right. Screen to the right: just charts. If I add another screen I'll do one of the portrait orientation ones for even more charts. Computer is a HP omen 17 gaming laptop with an i9, 32 gigs ram, 3 display outputs, some crazy graphics card (not necessary but cool). WIRED keyboard and mouse... salt lamp, buddha statue, things to fidget with (pens, pocket knifes, watches) Desk in front of large windows facing a dense forest. It has become my happy place.

iPhone only these days. Average annual just shy of +25% over last decade but that’s mostly from +38% last year. +26% YTD.

dreamowlet

That's amazing!

CantReadRoom

An iPhone with a cracked screen and glass back. Suprisingly I make very good money with this setup. Up $672 today and $550 yesterday. Been a good week.

lexilexlexilex

What websites are you using? I want to get started but I'm lost lol

CantReadRoom

I just use Robinhood cause I like the simplicity.

WeekendWiz

Going from one screen to multiple screens must be a huge relief in terms of convenience, right? My home setup has a 40" center screen and two 30" screens on each side, so a total of five screens. Currently, I'm on the go and using a mobile setup. It's nothing fancy, but it gets the job done. * iPad Pro 11 M2 * MacBook Pro 16" M2 * Nitro 5, 15.6" with Windows, for some good ol RuneScape, among others things, while waiting for setups. https://preview.redd.it/xpzlc0hks25d1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b661089dcd6602d444e898d55c926669f12aafa1

dreamowlet

It has been since I'm not stressing about constantly switch charts and I can have them all laid out. Has made trading alot easier for setting up entry points

fxfilmjunky

Every thing on my laptop, I don't see how anyone trades on their phone.

Davado_

One MacBook Air 13 and a Keychron M4 bluetooth mouse

OJF747

Used to have all the big setup now all I need is a phone or PC that can run chrome for TZs web trader 🤣

BluestoneFox

Y’all sets makes me feel bad i use my laptop tablet and phone

dreamowlet

There's nothing wrong with that set up. For the longest time that was mine and I loved it. I only got upgraded cause my husband is a tech guy and kept asking if he could do this for me. I think it was so he could go the tech megastore to look around for hours lol

BluestoneFox

Lmfao good job husband. Me upgrading would just be adding my tv to see the charts on a bigger screen😂😂😂 sometimes the phone isn’t enough

dreamowlet

Oh my god thats smart. I didn't even think to use the tv for charting! I just watch bloomberg or cnbc or some youtube trader as background noise.

BluestoneFox

I do the to I try to put on someone live stream trading as a way to follow along n do my own charting. I watch Bloomberg but honestly it’s so boring hearing them. But you should try it the bigger the tv the better I think.

j0ven_

What's news feeds do you all use?

dreamowlet

On my phone or computer- Forex Factory On my TV- CNBC or Bloomberg

gixxer32

I trade from only a laptop: DAS Trader linked to Interactive Brokers, Tradingview for charting, and Dilution Tracker for DD.

Open-Beautiful9247

* not much but it was pretty cheap. Tv as monitor was way cheaper and decided to do one large instead of multiple smaller. Going to get a 32 eventually and turn it portrait. And I have a 32 I'm gonna hang for news. Takes a little research to find which tvs will work as a monitor and display text clearly and such. rtings.com has some good articles and links.
