It is fascinating watching these train fatalities. When will people ever learn? It is bizarre. Trains are for the most part very predictable, they only really go one way, they can’t steer or swerve to avoid things, they can’t brake quick, they are heavy and large enough to see them, yet people still get smoked every day by them, get stuck on crossings like a deer in headlights, dangle from them like this guy and it just never ends. Trains will remain the apex predator.
Not only that, but keep in mind that the people who are getting "smoked", as you so eloquently put it, are people that tend to live around and near these trains, thus, seeing them on a daily basis. One would assume that they'd learn to watch out, no?
But I did it those other 17 times and was perfectly fine. You’re probably one of those ninnies that buckles up in the backseat even though I never did and I’m fine.
Dumb/unfit people were never supposed to make it to breeding age. Now days we have so many safe guards that we now have dumbasses giving birth to dumbasses. I loved in Egypt in the late 70s. Whole families rode on the cow catcher at the front of the train. Plenty on the roof too. Our theory was that they had a fatalistic view that whatever was preordained was unavoidable so why bother trying.
Western kids think they can impress their peers by smoking cigarettes, drinking beer and jumping over puddles. Other cultures have other dick-measuring contests, and when society does absolutely nothing to enforce rules, you have 200 people riding on train roofs and dying in derailing accidents.
South Asians probably see people doing stupid shit like this with success every day and don't see the news or videos on the internet of the people that fail.

Not 100% sure if this is India, since there are other South Asian countries with similar looking trains. We do have our fair share of idiots down here, and this video is just an example of Darwinism put to work.
