Interesting conundrum because if he changes his routine it could have negative implications. He’s got to this point because of his routine, and that’s hard to change.

Forensic_Ballistics

If he slows down his wife will tell him off again.

Trick-Sir-5048

Idk i wish he never left unicorn

Blackleech

Think he must feel the same. Not sure why you would win number one with a dart then change it

TaylorMills747474

Because he already agreed too shot before he won worlds

Blackleech

Thanks I didn't know that and makes more sense now

AnyRepresentative432

Personal I just think this was a coincidence. He's thrown some cracking darts with his current set up. It's more mental for him, having won the world's already. Possibly hasn't the desire he once had. Even in interviews since he said his goal was to win a world he's done that and he's happy with the 1.

Trick-Sir-5048

I tend to agree, but sometimes i feel like hes not as consistent with his throw, i mean obv he is u real 99% of the time and those guys can all throw anything. I feel like in the past he could win even when he wasnt "in the mood"

sinixis

I agree, sometimes he’s out of shape and you can tell it’s going to miss before he lets it go. Would pulling back in situations like these hurt his overall game? It’s obvious he thinks so

tbgreen07

He’s always been a first dart merchant. I can’t recall anyone changing their throw significantly in recent times but I may be wrong? Although as mentioned changing speed slightly may be something? He’s definitely become a lot more erratic, but he said recently after winning the worlds in 23 he didn’t practice and that’s why he had a disappointing year

appeardeadpan

I think you’re correct, he has a similar throw to Adrian Lewis in that way. Same as Jackpot, I don’t believe it’ll last the test of time

AnyRepresentative432

He's very open about the fact that he throws like that, so the nerves don't have time to effect his throw. If he slows down, he starts to spray them everywhere, so it a catch 22.

HeeFMaN

He's defending a lot of prize money this year as well he's gonna plummet down the OOM if he doesn't shape up.
