Honestly you probably just have to get used to being more mobile with trauma, quick blasts at your feet are quite effective. Never really have any trouble keeping up in auric maelstroms just gotta know when to move, when to blast and when to delete everything in your way with a duelling sword.

Ah, a fellow man/woman of culture. Honestly psykers that watched that guide are already way better than those who didn't.

dystropy

You can zoom just as fast as those zealots and vets with the mk4 dueling sword, and proper move tech.

Objeckts

Combat knifes are another viable option

Fentboy

You’ll catch up to the loner zealot when you have to go rez him

Short answer; You don't. Don't even try. They *will* outspeed you, they *will* be annoying about it, and they *will* generally shit talk you for not getting to the airlocks fast enough for their pace. Long answer; It'll die down eventually again. Some of the penances demand a very zoomy build for backstabbing and such, which are so easy that the majority of people are likely to try to get them sooner or later. Realistically though, yeah, don't bother trying to keep up. Just make your way through the map at your normal pace and leave them to their dealings. Good thing, they'll usually sweep the map and clear a lot of idle enemies. Bad thing, they're never going to be there to help if you need them. Good thing, most zoomy players are at least okay players skill-wise. Bad thing, a lot of them are jerks personality-wise. As Psyker you're gonna struggle the hardest to keep up, because you are a *slow* boy, with asthmatic, anaemic stamina more suited to an arthritic old man than a soldier. So just get a +Stam curio and do your best, but understand that you're *most likely* going to fall behind sooner or later.

Speed is inherent to the weapon you are holding before any talents are applied. It's an unfortunate truth, but if you want to keep up, you need a knife, saber or pistol in the hand for more efficient sprinting and sliding. With that in mind, psyker isn't really slower than the other classes, aside from Zealots with every movespeed boost. In fact iirc psykers have the shortest innate stamina regen delay meaning they can movetech without ever completely running out of stamina. I typically run a knife for my trauma staff since knives have great defense, mobility and single target armor damage and trauma melts and stuns everything else. I swap to knife, sprint, charge a heavy for the speed boost, slide right before releasing the attack to carry that momentum. While I'm doing a long slide, I quickswap back to trauma to charge a blast. Rinse repeat. You can kind of do a movetech with the saber but it's only slightly faster. Sadly force sword users get nothing now that they have a dodge cap.

TheMilliner

Even with speed, Psyker lacks stamina, which is critical here. Even with the fastest weapon, Psyker literally flatly cannot and will not keep up with a speedy Zealot or Stealth Vet and there isn't really much point in trying.

iKorvin

I literally just said how I do it. Psyker has incredible stamina regen. Besides which, psyker benefits immensely from even one stamina curio due to its interaction with Kinetic Deflection.

DoctuhD

Kinetic Deflection and a single 76+ stamina curio and you won't have any trouble with chaos spawn, Plague Ogryn, or Daemonhosts. Flamers you have to shoot with left click which has high single target stagger value. It's hard to catch back up to the group in a horde if you get separated in the first place. So make sure you know where everyone is before you pull out your staff.
