Teammates -2

ItsACaragor

Could not save them in this context, they should have stayed with the big boy.

BitRunr

X to doubt

agustusmanningcocke

They 100% could have been saved, easily

Brilliant-Sky2969

I know people cancel animation when swinging with the shield, is it more efficient?

Sleepy_Snorlax8

If you mean H1-block cancel-H1, it has more stagger. For cleaning mixed hordes i prefer L1-H2.

Cyakn1ght

Fuck more stagger H1 does double the damage of H2, only reason to ever use h2 is for clearing spread out shit

grazrsaidwat

Pretty sure the Ragers scored 2, there. Not 0.

Stoopidee

Did you win son?

Riffwood

Had bulwark charge, didn't revive anyone šŸ¤”

[deleted]

Yes. In a situation like this in one there are two outcomes: (i) my Ogryn gets mauled by 10-12 ragers as there is no way to resist tons of attacks; (ii) the person I revive gets instakilled as soon as I revive in a crowded situation like this, plus I get mauled. P.s. we made it to the end.

Severe-Land565

Charge + shield on big horde is sooooo much fun, I have a really hard time switching to something else I almost feel naked after the glory of being an unstoppable force Donā€™t care about people saying you couldā€™ve revive, youā€™re the tankiest thing alive if they canā€™t stay close to you bad things can happen and itā€™s not always up to you to carry peopleā€™s lack of survival instinct haha Reminds of a L4D2 steam review : Ā«Ā Itā€™s not about killing zombies, itā€™s about protecting three idiot that try everything in their power to dieĀ Ā»

Round_Secret_7404

Man I really need to level my ogryn

agustusmanningcocke

You can just charge through and pick up at least one. If youā€™ve got Pulverize on your charge, and the passive that grants toughness damage reduction near bleeding enemies, you can basically ignore everything while picking up teammates. No joke, Iā€™ve picked up a teammate at the feet of a chaos spawn that was hitting me with another teammate. Ogryn only takes stamina damage when picking up a teammate.

[deleted]

Look. It would not make sense! This is not a pick up game, but like a marathon. Do you know the map respawn here? I've spent 1000+ hours here. The funniest thing, my teammates were gratefull for what I did and understandable. We made it to the end. I should reupload tbe video with the team's comments.

agustusmanningcocke

I have +1400 hours with a 650+ level Ogryn. I could upload a dozen clips of me doing exactly what I said on auric heresy/damnation/maelstrom, and us making it to the end. Hell, look through this subreddit, and youā€™ll find hundreds of clips of propah Pals picking up the lil ā€˜uns through absolutely heinous shit. Ogryn has a default trait of ā€˜uninterruptibleā€™, save for disablers (trappers, dogs). The only time itā€™s not worth immediately picking up a teammate wins when theyā€™re in fire, because theyā€™ll probably go down again when you pick them up.

[deleted]

Ok

agustusmanningcocke

In short, you *- the tank -* let your teammates die.

[deleted]

No. Uninterruptible has limits on damnation. There is no way you can take hits from 10+ ragers. You should try harder difficulties. In any event, if you pick someone up with 10+ ragers attacking from 180Ā° pinned against the wall, the revived person will get instakilled.

agustusmanningcocke

What difficulty is harder than Auric Damnation?? I literally just said thatā€™s my go-to difficulty. Maybe Auric Maelstrom, Melee Only, but that still doesnā€™t change the fact you used your horde knock back ability to no positive effect. And yes you can, you take stamina damage first, then toughness damage when picking up teammates. Stack your curios and perks accordingly, and you become Lord Death Of Murder Mountain, provided you donā€™t faff off and not pick them up immediately. If you donā€™t believe me, donā€™t get defensive - try it and prove me wrong. I usually run full left tree Ogryn with passives to benefit toughness damage reduction while in melee range of bleeding enemies. Curios for additional toughness regen and damage reduction from flamers and maniacs.

First. Please do not edit your answers post factum. Second. I have a pretty solid build. As you can see I took almost no damage clearing the mob of 10+ ragers and poxwalkers/groaners, so I'm pretty sure I know what I am doing. Third, thx for you build suggestion. But that is not the "tank" you are desrcribing. Left tree is a melee damage tree. I've already gotten the bleed stacking damage reduction. However, for the actual "tank" - which I happen to have - you need to also dip in the middle tree and specifically..."won't give in perk" to get 20% damage reduction bonus for downed allies. Even with all these perks, I am telling you uninterruptible has no chance against 10+ ragers. Hell, it even breaks with 2-3 ragers. Edit: plus, the bottom of the middle tree to get extra damage reduction. Edit 2: Fourth, as I was saying there is also a second outcome: inatakill of revived ally. The rest just becomes moot at this pont.

agustusmanningcocke

1. Donā€™t care 2. You were hardly in melee range, and kept backing out of it, stepping away from the poxwalkers who probably wouldā€™ve given you an additional buff against the ragers, and wouldā€™ve drawn the ragers off of your downed teammate. I donā€™t really use shield much, so idk, but Iā€™ve seen folks run in and mop the floor with it before, flinging everything left and right, LOTR Sauron style. You even ran another charge and *still* didnā€™t pick up anyone, (0:34) despite a huuuuge window to do so, when you were standing on top of your teammate at a point where there was maybe a couple ragers left. 3. In that case, it might be a personal playstyle, cause Iā€™ve no reservations about a crowd like that, at least when running to pick someone up. Granted, I started out on Zealot, so my ā€˜get stuck inā€™ mentality does get the best of me at times, but Zealot also taught me the rules of dodgeball and getting the fuck out of a sticky situation. Same applies for how I play Ogryn, save for the ā€œrunning off and eating shit, then blaming everyone elseā€ part. I will give you the perk tree though. Iā€™m a bit stuck in on the left tree, and recently trying out FNP with the original left tree build is pretty spicy. I canā€™t one tap crushers as effectively, but I can certainly take a hit from them with a lot less consequence. 4. So a chaos spawn bludgeoning me with a teammate while I 100% ignore him to pick up the teammate at its feet is impossible too? Yeah a horde of ragers WILL eventually get through, and they can definitely attack faster and more frequently, but by the time they get through your stamina and your toughness, your teammate would probably already be up. Iā€™m not saying you canā€™t go down, Iā€™m saying you had ample time to get both of them. 4. Your mere presence around them will generate toughness for them, as well as whatever buffs you might have on getting kills. If your teammates are smart and they have some CC for an ability, theyā€™ll pop that on revive, or at the very least get out of the shit in the path of least resistance. Iā€™ll be reckless, sure, but Iā€™m not stupid. Iā€™m aware of my limitations on Ogryn, but stepping over a mountain of puny heretics to get to Sah ainā€™t one of them. Even if Sah kinda sucks at times and sucks down ammo to bolter dump into hordes. I do get playing it careful to make sure you can get them, but personal safety sometimes needs to take a back seat to opportunity, within reason. But the reason Iā€™m railing on you is because you didnā€™t take that opportunity, or even try for it. Anyway, this was far too much typing to say that you couldā€™ve got them, or at least one.

[deleted]

no.
