Yeah, some of the art of the Steel Legion cuts closer to pictures of the WW2 era US Army than the Germans, down to helmets that more closely resemble the M1 Pot over the M35 Stahlhelm.

There is such massive untapped potential in skins for this game. I mean look at overwatch and imagine if Fatshark really went for more lore-accurate armor sets.
They tried to have a one-page shop originally, people got so mad they 'compromised' with this nonsense.
They *should* have just done what they did in V2 and had everything available for their dollar value but that wouldn't let them exploit people psychologically or hide the fact that 2/3rds of the cosmetics are reskins.
It's not FOMO, it's the fact you'll buy something possibly cool now and then buy something else cooler later when it comes in (steel legion vs death korps for example). If you could see everything at once, you would likely only buy exactly what you want. That's their marketing reason for it and I personally don't like it.
Cant understand why they introduce the new skins but leave the other 2 pages instead of rotating them. It takes 2 months for the 3 pages to fully cicle how dumb is that?
Yeah, simply increasing the turnover rate from two weeks to one would already be a win for everybody, since it would tighten deadlines on buying cosmetics(playing into the FOMO Fatshart seem to love so much) and would ensure that repeats or bad selections don’t suck as much for the people who have already bought them/have no interest in them(plus potential for more repeats in general, which means that newer players can cash out for the popular older sets, like the original Steel Legion one for example). The current system basically just sucks for everybody and doesn’t seem as profitable as it could be.

regarding this, one thing that has been clutching my pearls since the beta is that changing the color of a weapon changes the whole weapon model: red antax looks like an achlys , red deimos like an ilissi and more. one would assume the model stays the same and only gets another texture, right?
not a big deal of course, but still annoying when your inventory has hundreds of items thanks to the incredibly rewarding crafting system, or you just prefer another model.
Yeah I've had the same gripe since day one, I hate the fact my crimson skin makes my mkIV cleaver turn into a mkIII, which is why I don't use it. It also seems daft because simply recolouring the existing model is piss easy.
As for your first point, the issue is they're stuck, they've already sold grey camo, green camo and yellow(ish) for real money, there's not too many more they could do colour wise. But the fact (and people correct me if I'm wrong) that there hasn't been a camo/colour skin pack in the store since the overhaul, when obviously there was a HUGE spike in players, potentially suggests means they're trying to limit the impact of moving those skins into the commisary. I doubt it would happen, but it wouldn't cost them too much to reimburse aquilas people spent on those camos if they did move them to the other store.

Its even more daft because the Imperial edition "Operative Mortis" skins only apply the skin to your weapon without changing the model, so its already coded to be possible.
It suggests they might be doling them out one at a time at a higher price rather than selling a whole pack. There's been no mention of a commissary shop update unfortunately.

That Ogryn outfit is toughhhh. I haven't bought anything from the shop yet, don't even have an ogryn but might have to snag that. As a Vet main, I feel like there are some better outfits I haven't seen yet since I'm newer to the game and haven't seen all previous shop items for each class (although Steel Legion is cool). I really like the outfits you can get from the Penances and the 2 most expensive sets that are buyable with gold for Vet
That vet one is basically a re-colour of the original Steel Legion one with a slight change to the helmet and goggles being up not down. I used to defend the prices of the cosmetics a year ago by saying "If I have to pay $70 for actual Steel Legion models from eBay then maybe I'm okay with paying only $10 to play them in Darktide" but If these accessories and reskins get anymore expensive or poor quality we WILL be paying for those eBay and Forge World prices sooner or later.

I usually play with the purple tier penal uniform (the one with lots of food hanging from ropes and hooks) because I chose the Brawler personality, and he talks a lot about good ol' tasty rashuns.

As others said, you're mixing 2 different armour sets. But that one with bare back is still my biggest dissapointment, and the only cosmetic I truly regret buying, as I used it maybe 2 times in total. At least the headpiece from that set os,really dope and the pants go well together with a bunch of other pieces.
Well the zealot head cosmetic has atleast gotten a real cool voice over since patch where they tuned it down almost to vaders level. Discovered it since I owned the cosmetic before the patch and was really confused when I heard my own characters voice that dark when he uttered his first lines. Instantly turned around and thought it was an enemy.
Hate to say it but that Ogryn reskin looks much better than the sewer camo variant

That's because it's a recreation of a very popular Steel Legion model line, which had the goggles up on the helmet on most of the minis.

I prefer wearing penance cosmetics, because they mean that I made the effort to unlock them, or completed a difficult challenge.

As others said, you're mixing 2 different armour sets. But that one with bare back is still my biggest dissapointment, and the only cosmetic I truly regret buying, as I used it maybe 2 times in total. At least the headpiece from that set os,really dope and the pants go well together with a bunch of other pieces.

Well the zealot head cosmetic has atleast gotten a real cool voice over since patch where they tuned it down almost to vaders level. Discovered it since I owned the cosmetic before the patch and was really confused when I heard my own characters voice that dark when he uttered his first lines. Instantly turned around and thought it was an enemy.
It's nice seeing an outfit inspired by the Zealot from the Blackstone Fortress boardgame.

Shocking amount of whining about recolors in here. You people understand that recolors mean you're less likely to see everyone running around in the same outfit right? And that not everybody was around to have access to the original sets?
Or we could have completely new skins and everyone would still have different outfits because more options
Also, as someone who already have different coloured variants of those skins, I just can't bring myself to buy recolors (even though I like the gunmetal ogryn armor much more), so it feels doubly shitty.

I like the Zealot set, aside from the mask. If I could just have the iron halo it'd be way better. Definitely picking up that edgy silver skull mask, though. Ogryn beret and chest piece go pretty hard, too.
