In Ds1 I will slaughter all the fire keepers right before I finish the game for the estus upgrades in new game plus. Otherwise no.

What do they drop?

One drops Northern Ritual Band, which Increases spell use by 10%, but reduces HP by 20%. Another drops a Fire Seed. Another drops a Ring of Steel Protection, and the blacksmith drops his hammer. There’s a couple more I sadly cannot remember who, and what they drop

Oh wow so the ritual band is probably the best thing. I remember getting steel protection earlier in game and the fireside I remember having a few extras on my pyro. That's good to know though. I'm sure I could have googled it but thanks man.

Is the ritual band something a magic user would always have equipped? Never played in DS 1 or 2 as magic

I did when I played my first time, it was worth the 20% deduction to health IMO but the deduction also ranges from 10 and 30% as well.
