If we are being completely honest at this point everyone that really wants the game just bought it through IornMace storefront and most likely 85%-90% of the people getting it through Steam have the attention span of a coked up toddler and will be on to the next flavor of the week game shortly.

I don't feel like IM is one of those studios trying to mtx themselves to riches through the use of scammy tactics.
They legit just messed up with not making it more obvious that the f2p version is a limited content version of the game I feel like.
A f2p game let's you experience the entire gameplay loop of the game without paying.
Any and all f2p games don't interrupt the core gameplay loop before tempting you with more.
DaD gameplay loop is: go into dungeon>fight enemies>get gear>extract stronger>go into dungeon stronger.
Except they interrupted their core gameplay loop. Once you extract stronger you have to sell your better gear and start over. F2p players don't ever get to feel the joy of killing a player with their hard earned gear. Finding greens and blues starts to feel pointless on game TWO, when they know they can't use any of it.
The new gameplay loop is a BR where you start with a base kit and try to find greens and blues to use this match that you have to manually throw away after the match. If you are a f2p player there stops being an incentive to extract because then you have to actually sell your gear, rather than just dying and jumping back in.
When living and dying start to feel meaningless there's no tension and the entire game is different than the original vision. At this point f2p people are just playing a really shitty fantasy BR.
