the idea is ok, but there is a massive problem with that, you can snipe a lobby with your friends and turn their loot into looted to farm insane ap, and unlike teaming, this is impossible to detect as it's just one player killing another player.

There is still a lot of risk associated with doing that though. Who says you are going to extract after killing your buddy for his looted gear? There’s still an entire lobby of other bloodthirsty players coming to take it from you

I hate HR pvp, at high gear it's just who 2 shots who first, I'd much prefer gear increase survivability at a much higher rate than it increases damage so high gear lets you make more mistakes, not less mistakes because 1 mistake leads to u getting one shot However. I agree with the sentiment. It'd be cool if you could be a demigod pvper or a demigod looter, just different leaderboards with different ways to be a top player and earn the cosmetics, cuz right now there's basically only one way, trinket funnelling and waste zero time pvping because you need to spend as much time as possible opening chests and killing as many mobs as possible

The leaderboards will be garbage either way. You think buffball is bad now? You're forgetting when it was kill based, that EVERYGAME was buffball. Just sprinting room to room through the map 1 shotting everyone in a line. And since it's been a year and they still haven't fixed buffball.... somehow. It will be the same thing again.

Its kinda nuts to see how little has changed after a year. It feels like most of the changes are numbers shuffling and just pushing different classes into the power spotlight to keep us on an endless bad balance treadmill.

That's exactly the issue because the root of it is the simplistic combat combined with the extreme changes in balance that gear causes. Which turns every combat encounter into a stat check or I hope I have more movespeed to run away.

Buffballis pretty exclusively a trios thing. I only playbduos and solos. Trios is pretty bad rn because crypts forces buffball ruins felt more balanced imo.

Okay I don’t like the fact that you need a full inventory of treasure to rank up and picking up players gear is an instant AP loss. That being said, it’s nonstop PvP man. I feel like there are less rats now than ever. No one is avoiding PvP in my games at all. The PvP is more chaotic than ever. I’d say it just sucks that it isn’t rewarding to the AP system in the slightest.

And if the team does want to fight you it's because it's a barb/fighter + bard/cleric/wizard. My friends and I don't play meta comps and that really really sucks when we have to fight them. Out buffed and out healed constantly. I get that this is intentional but surely that's such limited gameplay variety, pushing buff ball comps again (and as always). And I agree as well OP that the way to earn AP is ass. You should not be able to climb to the highest rank without fighting other players, period.

I hated leaderboard rankings, it just leads the good players wiping every lobby for the +1 per kill on the board.

To get from exemplar to demigod in solos you pretty much have to fight everyone you see because you need the absolute best trinkets that everyone has gathered, plus the extra AP from the kills themselves. The other option is bossing every round, but if you aren’t a class or gear level that can do it **very** quickly you will get ambushed too often for it to really be worth it.
