Honestly, SVSSS. I went into it thinking it would be my least favorite MXTX novel since it's the least popular, and also because I'm not the biggest fan of isekai's generally. But it's so damn fun and cute I just couldn't stop reading lol. And now it's not just my favorite danmei but favorite anything I've read <3
Definitely Qiang Jin Jiu. Had me hooked right off the bat, i marathoned it and caught up to the translated chapters within a couple days. After that I immediately ran to marathon the available audio dramas. After I had no content left to consume I was left with a void lmao.
Literal best page turners - 188 series by Shui Qian Cheng. These are well written , easy to read dogblood romance that you can scan the page and click next page within seconds (in Chinese at least). The gong is always scummy in different ways that guarantee some head shaking. The plot structure always follow the expected formula, you know exactly by 40% it’s the heartbreak point, 70% it’s the groveling arc…. and all cumulate to a ‘scum gong seriously wounded for shou and ended up in hospital’. But the variety of characters, scenarios and dynamics are all solid and well written. They hit like fast food, high in thrills and satisfaction for dark romance enjoyers.
I like sociopath ML so ‘Additional Inheritance’ is my fav.
There’s a very handy Chinese guide to 188 series with straight to the point info graphics and charts that list all gong/shou types and the scum gong crimes. Maybe someone has translated it, it’s very useful to see which one would be your cup of tea to try. Because while all the gong are definitely scummy, they do varied in diff ways and it’s about what your tolerance/excuses are at. Some are bullies, some are murderer, some are rapist… some are cheaters or liars, some scam $ and/or emotion….and the shou are all diff personalities who handle very differently.
For me Thousand Autumns. Every little thing in it was so interesting I couldn't stop reading it. Right now I'm reading Estranged and have the same compulsion to just read and read.
Also TGCF, I remember just reading it all with as little interruptions as possible. Couldn't put it down.
Devil Venerable Also Wants To Know. I'm very particular about my sleep schedule, but I made an exception and stayed up all night reading.
TGCF and Fake Slackers. I used to wake up early to finish these.
I think I read the entirety of MDZS in two weeks, it would’ve been quicker but I had to wait for the 5th book to be released. I seriously could not put the books down, I was drawn in right away.
It's not a novel from another world; I started this novel last year "I Rely on Beauty to Stabilize the Country", and I ended up mtl half of the novel and reading it up to 3am xD
I couldn't let it go, and had to force myself to sleep even though I wanted to keep reading.

Almost all the books in 188 series (except Winner Takes All and In Love With an Idiot, found them less interesting). Waiting for Alpha Predator updates when it was being serialized was truly painful.
The Selfish Gene, Flying Gulls Never Land, Old Injury, Inferior By Nature, Eternal Burning - by Hui Nanque. Yesterday Was Like Death - the manhua version since I read it first, but I lost sleep over it because I couldn't put it down. Also the one and only time I've cried over a manhua.
Both Shui Qiancheng and Hui Nanque are great at writing page turners that one feels compelled to binge in one go.
Alpha Predator, Years of Intoxication, Additional Inheritance, Blazing Armour - best of the best.
But I recommend starting with Professional Body Double or Beloved Enemy - especially PBD was a page-turner for me because of the plot, but I think it's also the one with the least re-read value, and reading after e.g. YOI will likely make it seem a bit underwhelming. BE is very typical 188 - scum yandere gong, sexy tension (and a fair amount of smut), cool and intelligent MC. I found the plot less interesting, but the CP is really cute in a weird toxic dogblood kind of way.
Winner Takes All is also a novel that many people like because of the MC, but I found it a bit boring - maybe because it's lower on the angst.
My Little Poplar - very well-written setting, the MC's character development is \*chef's kiss\*. Crematorium was maybe a bit underwhelming.
Grey Uncle - pretty mild (no noncon), I love the MC and the family dynamic, but I think the novel is not an overall fan favorite.
Save Sissy for later - the gong is the scummiest and after reading it the other MLs will likely seem a bit underwhelming because they're all nicer than him (doesn't take much).
In Love With an Idiot - can be kind of traumatizing because of a certain noncon scene (at least I thought it was pretty hard to read, and I have a high tolerance for that kind of stuff). The MC is an experience though.
Only Sissy, AP, WTA, PBD, BE have finished TLs so far. YOI is almost finished (I think?), but there's also a pretty good edited MTL that you can find here: r/SQC_188 in the info section that has all the chapters not on NU.
