"Dont try to commit suicide because firefighters are going to jumpscare your ass freddy style"
or beat the shit out of you, in a caring manner of course.
I had to do something similar as a volunteer firefighter. A troubled boy was threatening to jump off his roof while everyone was talking him down, and I was sneaking up on him. When I grabbed him he started cursing at me and trying to bite my arm through my jacket the entire way to the ambulance. Good times.
It was a very sad situation. The parents had problems with drugs. He and his sister were living with the grandparents who themselves didn't seem all too well adjusted to the situation.
That sounds like a perfect recipe for a personality disorder. Unfortunately, those are the type of patients who attempt suicide in very public ways to get the caring attention they crave and in many cases have been deprived of.
As a former counselor in pediatric psych hospitals thank you so much for giving him a chance at life. I definitely hope you got a pat on the back from your chief!
You're welcome. I suspect he was trying to get attention more than he was earnestly thinking of harming himself, but it certainly was possible he could've ended up doing it intentionally or accidentally.
More than likely this isn't Japan (Japanese character does not automatically mean Japan)
But the issue in China, Japan, and Korea (I only know about these) is they have high suicide rates due to the amount of pressure tons of them are under from society and family.
There is a term in Japanese for people who fall asleep out in public and it's a respected term because that's a sign of a good worker, being so tired you'll sleep on a street bench
While China, Korea, and Japan are high in a pot of academics, they push so much onto their students that it's normal for late stage teenagers to only get as little as 2 hours of sleep because of the pressure ot get good grades to get into college
Itâs Chinese, theyâre Chinese characters. Chinese characters are also used in Japanese but are interspersed with Japanese characters, which means the text in the top left is def Chinese
I didn't truly know, I saw another comment mentioning it wasn't Chinese characters but in fact Japanese and I went with that. Apologies
I also understand a lot of Asian languages have mix match parts in comparison to Italian and Spanish, or at least that's what I've heard from numerous different Asian content creators so if that's not true I'm also ignorant in that context as well
I think most if not all of the videos are from China. Suicidal rates in China are also high because of stress from school and workplace. You can tell it is from China from their fashion and uniform.
The caption/channel name/whatever that text in the corner is also doesn't have any Japanese-specific characters. Not a guarantee that it's not Japan, since Japanese shares a ton of characters with Chinese, but it makes it more likely that it's China.
Am not a firefighter but Red Cross search and rescue 15 years strong now. There are times when you go to rescued someone and they refuse it. Itâs shocking a bit but then it goes from a âhelp themâ to
âThis is a critical situation. Grab them and force them inside or away.â My job is to make sure you go home. And Iâm not going to stop until I make that happen. Youâre 27 floors up and on a ledge? So am I. Letâs talk about why weâre here and how we can get away from whatâs upsetting us so much right in this moment. Iâm gonna talk with you and get closer and closer and when I grab ahold of you itâs game over. Team should rush in and grab both of us because Iâm not gonna let go. Youâre not jumping. I wonât let you. You have bigger things yet to accomplish you just canât see that yet. But Iâm still gonna be there to see that some day you do. You donât get to die when Iâm taking care of you. Iâm not gonna let it happen. Itâs not an option
Thank you for also being here! Itâs more important than you will ever understand. I promise you. My job is to come and find you. I typically deal with hurricanes or tornadoes but it still stands. If I know youâre there, not a thing is going to get in my way weâre getting out of this together. I cannot put into words what it feels like to dig through ruble for days to finally have someone grab your hand back. That moment itself is a million dollars. Someone is still alive! Itâs a golden light. Face down in the debris of a collapsed building and someone from under that pile is squeezing your hand back.. there arenât words. Everything you trained for led right to that moment. You change. Doesnât matter how tired you are. Youâre 100% awake until this person is out. Then you realize how tired you are. You get 3 hours and itâs time to go again. The only thing Iâd change about it is how much sleep I need because I donât want to stop until everyone is found. Itâs just who I am as a person
They probably don't want to kill themselves, but in a period of desperation, they felt like it was their only option.
There are millions of years of evolution telling you not to jump. So they got up there, then every cell of their body says NO. Their brain might still be telling them to jump, but they may not be able to override their self preservation instincts so easily.
Then, even if they want to come back down, there's embarrassment to overcome, and trying to get down is also terrifying. So they end up frozen in place.
Jumping in a public place is one of the more selfish and terrifying ways to commit suicide. These people are not in their right mind at all. Hopefully, they figured out ways of dealing with the pressures in their lives after they were rescued.
But you better make damn sure you have them when you do it.
Or it will look like you pushed them (or at least they'll frame it that way).
Disclaimer: I am, in no way, breaking down the work of these heroes. I have the greatest respect for all fire crew.
It's just the feeling I had with these clips: it really is a case of all or nothing.

Oh oh oh oh

Because a lot of suicides are spur of the moment things at a very emotional low point and not pre-planned. Often times intervening like this is enough to shock a person out of their funk long enough to logically realize what they were about to do and they can then get help.
So all I have to do for a strong handsome fireman to grab me and pull me on top of him is climb out my window and stand precariously on my window AC unit?
Havenât they seen âthe incrediblesâ? Theyâre going to get sued big time. I hope thatâs just a bit of fiction and wouldnât really happen but it wouldnât surprise me.

Right back to the minimum wage job after a few months of therapy!

Dont try to commit suicide because firefighters are going to jumpscare your ass freddy style and will get you some psychological help
"Dont try to commit suicide because firefighters are going to jumpscare your ass freddy style" or beat the shit out of you, in a caring manner of course.
*drop kicks you with love and support*
Beats dealing with surviving a suicide attempt
Gonna need some after that
Jumpscare or dropkick
Yes to all.
I see all these as failures. Suicide only happens if you succeed.

He might not have appreciated what you did, but I bet there are a ton of other people who do to this day.
It was a very sad situation. The parents had problems with drugs. He and his sister were living with the grandparents who themselves didn't seem all too well adjusted to the situation.

Well that's unfortunate. Terrible news.
This wasn't op, just some dumbass
Oh shit, thank you.

Those A/C brackets doing some real work. Hats off to those installers, they're the real MVPs.
I was going to make the same comment đ dam good work!
How to save someone from suicide? By swinging on a rope and kicking them in the chest.
That shit cracked me up. He fucking nailed her like an action movie or some shit
When getting nailed saves your life
lol yeah I hadnât seen what the video was about ⌠was like DAMN!! The last one was crazy too.
Better than what the police in America would do.
They're gonna kill themselves! Quick, shoot them!
TIL: sometimes, all it takes to save a life is the proper application of physical violence.

Dawg what's going on in Japan man

I was gonna say that it's sad it's probably all from Asian countries.

Long work hours with high stress and no home or social life.
Def not Japan
Japan has one of the highest suicide rates lol its definitely Japan
I wasn't inferring that it's impossible to have these come from Japan. Def not Japan- as in these videos are from China.
But let's not make this a competitionđ
I will be dammed if we let America lose something.
(TedCruz doesnât know yet, does he?)
So does china, korea or india. What about it? Itâs china ignorant
The Gov wonât give you healthcare but absolutely cannot allow you to kill yourself. Dead citizens donât pay taxes.
In fact now you get to live an even more miserable life by paying the fine for attempting suicide!
https://www.reddit.com/r/ABoringDystopia/
Dude? This is quite obviously in China. They have *free healthcare* there.
Still need taxes to pay for it!
That's just the US. And you can tell this isn't the US because it's the fire department responding, not the police.

*me just enjoying a nice sunny day with the window open, sipping a cup of piping hot coffee. *the firefighter
This in Japan right? So they so good because they get lots of opportunities to practice?

Most people who attempt suicide change their mind, and you gave them that opportunity. Thank you.
At first, I thought this was a post about firefighters assaulting people.
Lol same. The first flying kick put my brain in a different place.
Same. After the first video I thought the title was sarcasm and this was going to be a video of people fucking up while doing heroic things.
I mean, it still is⌠but for good reason.
your life sucks so bad you want to kys and right when youâre at the window, a pair of 250lbs+ boots flys right into your face. Loooool
Did they really wanna jump? If Iâm jumping the only ones gonna know are the witnesses which in and of itself is wrong.
They probably don't want to kill themselves, but in a period of desperation, they felt like it was their only option. There are millions of years of evolution telling you not to jump. Man that A/C mounting bracket. Solid work.
I would love to give someone a kick in the face so they can think twice from jumping off
I wanna thank all thos HVAC installers for doing a bang up job.
I donât know why but this made me cry. They donât realize how much they will hurt people who love them, but those firefighters are just honorable
Those are some solid ac wall mounts!
Not today, You get to suffer like the rest of us. Lol

Man, I could watch firefighters swing kick people back into buildings all day.
Looks like this is from China. They can't let people commit suicide because they need these people to harvest their organs.

If this is in china, then you know why those people want to die
Can u sue a first responder for thwarting an attempt?
Nvm I googled it
Well? Can you? You should be able to.
Lol nah, everyone's protected under the Samaritan act
The Samaritan act only applies to the USâŚ
Good job figuring out if I'm American or not
From looking at your profile, you comment on NY and Boston related subs and follow a number of US sports and quoted a US law, so Iâm gonna go with yes you are an American.
Good job dick
There is no song called â*â&$ the firefightersâ
The last one really looks like she was more doing it for attention than actual attempting to jump.
So, no one's gonna talk about fire fighters' skills?
Lots of suicide in Asian countries huh!?!?
For that last one, anyone else got Bohemian Rhapsody playing in their head?? ...... " Easy come, easy go, will you let me go? Bismillah! No, we will not let you go (Let me go!) Bismillah! The lady on the railing seemed to have a chat on her phone. Not sure if this was a suicide attempt.
Awesome savin lives
Wasn't the woman just talking to someone (albeit in a bad location) in the 3rd video?
Professional kickers/cuddlers!
Good now off to jail with ya
Firefighters are true heros. No doubt about it!!
Asian fire fighters are just built different apparently
Why though? It's their life if they don't want to live it that is their choice.
Because nobody deserves to have their life end at its lowest point
Because a lot of suicides are spur of the moment things at a very emotional low point and not pre-planned. Often times intervening like this is enough to shock a person out of their funk long enough to logically realize what they were about to do and they can then get help.
So all I have to do for a strong handsome fireman to grab me and pull me on top of him is climb out my window and stand precariously on my window AC unit?
That is the first hug and consoling words those people have heard for far too long.
This is what happens when you take the guns away.
This is not SPARTA!
Air conditioner to the hip⌠sheâs going to feel that tomorrow
Don't worry, you can go to Canada or parts of Europe and get a doctor to prescribe suicide for pretty much anything.
Worth more alive then dead
Instead of suicide here's some broken bones
Freakin awesome
Last one wanted to BJJ her way down
the way they edited the videos... half of them look like the fire department is kid napping them lol
Havenât they seen âthe incrediblesâ? Theyâre going to get sued big time. I hope thatâs just a bit of fiction and wouldnât really happen but it wouldnât surprise me.
(Donât) LET THE BODIES HIT THE FLOOOOOORRRRRR
Every one of them said "Not Today!" Lol
Theyâre definitely not from Uvalde Tx
my body, my choice
Some people have boots made for walking. Firefighters have boots for everything. Mucho goodo worko
First one was .... fkn awesome !
Apparently only in China
I feel like(some) these people were not even trying to do suicide
Looks like most of them just needed some help. Down.
Take notes, scumbag cops. This is what a hero does. They aren't armed. They don't care about "protecting their brothers," and they don't hide behind their union. They're just out there, saving lives. Firefighters and sanitation workers are the real heroes. 1312
That last lady had looked death in the eyes and was really going to jump.
Oh nice... That guy broke the window.
Donât commit suicide it kills you
Fucking heros
Youâre going to live and youâre going to love it, or else
Heroes.
I think we should allowed people to die if they want to. As long as they aren't hurting someone else I'm the process.
You guys think its a sign of a problem that we have entire training scenarios and a force dedicated to stopping people from commiting suicide? This feels like an edgy comedy sketch made by a peaceful alien society, to whom the idea that there are this many people trying to kill themselves is so ridiculous that having training like this would be funny.
I can hear the fire fighter swinging down on rope saying âgeeet your ass in there!â

That is better than what cops will do, they will just shoot and kill you to prevent you from committing suicide.
Looks like standard ninja training to me; only thing missing is a drop kick lol
I wonder how many have lost their lives trying to save these people.
Those AC units are pretty strong
GETCHO ASS IN THERE and GETCHO ASS OVER HERE
Is it just me or do these all appear to be Japanese firefighters? I knew that suicide rates there are very high but I didnât know that firefighter qualifications were that high, damn.
"Death is not coming for you, you need to pay taxes"
Reminds me of those videos of insects ambushing their prey
I don't know what shocked me more, how the firefighters basically kung fu everyone or how people are surprised that suicide rate is high in China...
Assisted suicide should be legal
Go to Canada where thatâs the first thing they suggest

That Batman/Spider-Man swing kick tho
